Once Upon An SMP

Avalon, mother of all creation (barring her dearest husband) is a forgotten deity who once ruled over the cosmos and brought light to the world, setting the foundation for her daughter Aine (born Avilion) to bring life to the fairytale world.
Avalon is a stern but just ruler, caring deeply for all who have stood in her light. All was good in her domain until her darling husband tried to assassinate her in a fiendish plot to steal her crown and rule over the cosmos in her stead, with Avalon's loyal children by her side, Caliburn stood no chance against her. Even though their battle was mighty, lasting seven days and seven nights, finally, Avalon defeated her traitorous love, trapping him for eternity in a sword and dubbing it Excalibur.

This character is part of "The Godly Circle", the very first generation of god-like or deity adjacent creatures in Once Upon An SMP, these creatures predate the concept of destiny or even fairytales themselves.

We are looking for an airy voice that holds a sort of regal quality to it.

English accent preferred.

Here are some characters we used as inspiration for Excalibur's character! You are welcome (or are even encouraged) to channel these villains in your portrayal of Excalibur should you find yourself drawn to doing so!

Grandmammare- Ponyo (2008)

Queen Angella- She-ra, Princess of Power (2020)

FULL DISCLOSURE:

Your voice is likely to be edited so that we can have the addition of reverb, echo or some sort of distortion but your voice will NEVER be run through AI.

Excalibur, formed alongside his wife and queen, Avalon, is an ancient and forgotten deity who once ruled over the underworld, darkness and held dominion over time itself.
Excalibur is desperate to be known once again hold a tyrannical claim over the Ever After after centuries of being locked away in a sword by his wife and darling children.

Excalibur is the main villain of the OUASMP universe and we are hoping to see quite a lot more of him as we go through the story.

We are looking for a low and menacing voice that CAN manage to lull just about anyone into his clutches should he want it enough or scare the socks off of the fiercest warrior should he be cross enough.

English accent preferred.

If you can manage to channel a constant undertone of general disdain that is a MAJOR plus. (disdain for who? just about anyone he sees as less than himself..Which is everyone.)

FULL DISCLOSURE: This is a recast! While we had a previous voice actor for Excalibur, please do not feel pressure to voice match, it will not effect our decision on casting whatsoever.

Aine is the eldest child of Excalibur and Avalon. With her magical grimoire and an inherited gift for creating life from her mother, Aine turned stardust to ink and wrote the very lands we read of into existence.

Once upon a time, the fairytale world was looked after by a benevolent god, Aine. Gifting each fairytale creature with their magic and creating their lands, Aine had the power to do- anything she truly desired. Heal the poisoned, punish the evil- and rewrite destiny. Aine is also responsible for bringing her stories to earth, land of the readers and those who depend on our stories so greatly to live their lives to the fullest.

With her Grimoire, Aine could inspire fate itself- but one day it all turned sour. In what seemed like a days time, Aine turned malicious and vengeful- seeking out her fairytale subjects to rain hell unto them. But luckily those inhabiting the hallowed institute "BookHaven" (previously having been used as a meeting place where the entirety of the fairytale world could meet and converse on neutral ground) acted fast. Forming five factions in order to escape this friend turned foe, the original fairytale folk, Sleeping beauty: Founder of Carus, Robin Hood: Founder of Virtus, The Little Mermaid: Founder of Laxus, Snow White: Founder of Certus and The Mad Hatter: Founder of Animus all hatched a plan to save the fairytale world and preserve the destinies of old. These measures were led by none other than the one, the only, Arthur Pendragon, king of Camelot and his good friend Merlin the Great.

It is said that she was bested by King Arthur with a single swing of his sword.

After the battle no one could locate her grimoire, forcing Merlin to result in creating The Storybook of Legends, a tool to recycle the magic fabricated by the fairytales of the world by having their next of kin carry on not just their lineage but destinal greatness.

It was decided that Bookhaven would become an academy for the ancestors of the fairytale world, that it would teach and prepare them for their fairytale destinies.

Bookhaven would never stay in one place for very long, therefore the castle was broken apart from the rest of its original world in the Faelands in order to make it easily movable in case of a.. breach. While things like furniture or sign placements never truly stay with Bookhaven during the school's tour of the multiverse- one thing is always sure to come with… The Storybook of Legends.

   Oh…The Storybook of Legends…

Without Aine writing new destinies, no new magic can form in the fairytale world. No new magic means no sustainable life, every living creature would evaporate. Merlin, in his endless wisdom, did some quick thinking and with the flick of his hand created The Storybook of Legends- a way to recycle magic by reliving the tales as old as time.

Every year the students of Bookhaven present themselves to the fairytale world and proclaim their destinies, signing their pages in the book and solidifying a future for all those in their stories.. should someone not sign their page before they graduate- the unthinkable would happen.

It is imperative that the children of Bookhaven sign their pages. The world is on their shoulders.

This character is part of "The Godly Circle", the very first generation of god-like or deity adjacent creatures in Once Upon An SMP, these creatures predate the concept of destiny or even fairytales themselves.

We are looking for a playful voice that can change on a dime to sound cruel. Aine is commonly misrepresented in history as a tyrant and we intend for her voice actor to be able to portray this.

English accent preferred.
