Omen: A short film
Project Overview
Omen is a horror/dark comedy student short film. The concept is much similar to Don't Hug Me I'm Scared, starting as a lighthearted kids show and slowly twisting into something much darker. The film is live-action and scheduled to be filmed around January of 2022 and released on May 2022. Voice Actors won't be needed to perform on-set and can record their performance remotely given that the audio is of good quality (that is no distortion, excessive ambience noise, or echo/reverb). Some singing ability is recommended. Payment and credit for performance will be provided along with a digital copy of the film. Omen is a cat puppet and co-star of the supposed children's show portrayed in the film. He slowly transforms the show into something grim and twisted, often reminding his co-star, Wally, of their own mortality and evil. Omen's voice should be suitable for a charismatic muppet/mascot for a kid's show and nonchalantly skim over his disturbing comments as if there was nothing wrong with them. Given that the film will contain at least 3 original songs, please also audition for the singer casting call in order to get the role.
[Omen was just taught how to draw, excitedly making one of his own and showing it]:
Wow! That's really cool, Wally! And I think I'm getting the hang of it, look! I made the tortured souls of the innocent!
[Omen is being confronted for his grim comments]:
I only speak the truth. The seed of society was fed with the blood of the oppressed.
[This scene takes place in the climax of the film. At this point, Omen's silly and charismatic persona is nearly gone, so this line should be read in a darker tone]:
No matter if you look away from the void, it never looks away from you. It's always gazing upon your very soul; crawling up your spine for it knows all of your sins. If you won't leave... I'll have to make you. For your own good.
