Project Overview
DO NOT AUDITION IF YOU ARE NOT AN IMVU USER
The series follows a specialized overnight investigative unit handling serious crimes that begin, escalate, or are discovered during the hours most of the city is asleep. Each episode focuses on a new case while following the same core investigative team.
We are currently casting both series regulars and Episode 1 guest roles.
Cast Requirements
Clear microphone with minimal background noise
Ability to take direction and provide retakes when needed
Reliable communication
Good time management and ability to meet deadlines
Availability for scheduled IMVU filming sessions
Ability to coordinate with production regarding wardrobe and avatar setup
Series regulars must be available for future episodes
NDA required for selected cast members
Unreleased scripts, storylines, visuals, and production information must remain confidential
Professional voice acting experience is not required. Natural delivery, emotional range, reliability, and the ability to take direction are more important.
Description / Characteristics
Age: 29 | Lead Investigator
Amaya is the kind of detective who notices when your story changes by one word.
She’s sharp, controlled, observant, and very hard to fool. She doesn’t need to yell to take over a room, and she’s usually watching more than she’s saying. She cares deeply about getting the truth, but that can also work against her. Once she becomes convinced someone is lying, she can lock onto that person a little too hard.
This is not a cold, emotionless cop character. Amaya has empathy, humor, frustration, anger, and vulnerability. I’m looking for someone who can make her feel like a real person, not someone doing a generic “detective voice.”
What I’m looking for:
Natural, believable delivery
Calm authority
Strong emotional range
Able to handle interrogation scenes without overacting
Comfortable with subtle acting and quieter moments
Able to take direction and adjust a performance when asked
Commitment:
This is a series regular role, so I’m looking for someone who genuinely wants to be part of OIU long-term. You’ll need to be available for future episodes, retakes, and scheduled IMVU filming sessions.
- female adult
Calm / Observant “I’m not saying you’re lying. I’m saying your story changed. The first time, you said you left at two. Now you’re saying two-thirty. That might mean nothing, but I’m not going to pretend I didn’t notice it.” Direction: Calm, conversational. She isn’t accusing them yet. She’s watching to see how they react.
Interrogation / Pressure “You keep answering the question you wish I asked. I asked where you were, not where you were supposed to be. So take a second, think about your answer, and then tell me the truth.” Direction: Controlled authority. No yelling. The pressure should come from how certain she sounds.
Emotional / Intense “She was hurt. She was scared. And instead of helping her, you made a decision that put her in even more danger. So don’t sit there and tell me you panicked like that somehow makes what you did disappear.” Direction: This is where we hear Amaya’s anger and empathy. Emotional, but still contained.
Age: 32 | Detective / Amaya’s Partner
Miles is the kind of detective people accidentally tell too much to.
He’s warm, easy to talk to, socially sharp, and very good at making people feel comfortable. He doesn’t come into an interview trying to intimidate someone. He lets them talk, watches where they hesitate, and usually figures out what they’re hiding before they realize he’s onto them.
He also balances Amaya out. Where she can lock onto a theory quickly, Miles is usually the one asking whether a lie actually means guilt, or whether there’s something else underneath it.
He has humor, but he is not comic relief. The humor should feel natural and help release tension without making the character unserious.
What I’m looking for:
Warm, believable, conversational delivery
Strong chemistry with other actors
Subtle humor and good timing
Able to sound comforting without sounding fake
Can switch from relaxed to serious very quickly
Strong emotional intelligence in the performance
Able to take direction and adjust a read
Commitment:
This is a series regular role, so I’m looking for someone who wants to stay with OIU long-term. You’ll need to be available for future episodes, retakes, and scheduled IMVU filming sessions.
- male adult
Casual / Personality “This machine owes me two dollars and a granola bar. At this point, I’m not even hungry anymore. It’s about principle.” Direction: Relaxed and natural. Let me hear his humor without turning it into a joke performance.
Interview / Disarming “Listen, I’m not trying to trap you. But every time we get close to what actually happened, you change the subject. So help me out here. What are you afraid I’m going to find?” Direction: Kind, patient, almost reassuring. He should sound like someone you might genuinely open up to.
Serious / Pressure “You said you were trying to help her. The hospital is west. You drove east. So either you got very lost, or you’re leaving something out. Which one is it?” Direction: The warmth drops. Still controlled, but now you hear exactly how sharp he is.
Description / Characteristics
Age: 26 | Digital Investigations
Zoe is the person you want looking at a phone, account, camera feed, or digital trail when everyone else thinks there is nothing there.
She is quick, practical, and extremely good at reading digital evidence. Phones, deleted files, timestamps, social media, location data, surveillance, account activity, she treats all of it like part of the crime scene.
Zoe is younger than some of the team, but she is not inexperienced or timid. She knows what she is doing and has no problem speaking up when the evidence contradicts someone else’s theory.
She has a fast brain and a fast mouth, but she should never sound frantic. Her confidence comes from knowing exactly what she is talking about.
What I’m looking for:
Natural, modern delivery
Quick pacing without sounding rushed
Smart, confident energy
Able to handle technical dialogue naturally
Good dry humor
Strong reactions and emotional range
Able to take direction and adjust a performance
Commitment:
This is a series regular role, so I’m looking for someone who wants to stay with OIU long-term. You’ll need to be available for future episodes, retakes, and scheduled IMVU filming sessions.
Casual / Personality “The machine has an alibi. It was with me.” Direction: Dry and effortless. Don’t play it like a punchline.
Technical / Confident “Deleted doesn’t mean gone. It means somebody thought no one would bother looking. That’s usually where things get interesting.” Direction: Fast, clear, confident. She knows this world better than everyone else in the room.
Serious / Investigative “I’ve got three devices in the area, two completed rides, and one driver who suddenly went offline right when our victim disappeared. That’s not proof yet, but it’s enough for me to keep digging.” Direction: Focused and sharp. Let us hear how Zoe sounds when she realizes she may have found the break in the case.
Description / Characteristics
Age: 30 | Medical Examiner / Forensic Consultant
Adrian is the person who brings everyone back to the facts.
He is dry, precise, observant, and not easily impressed. Detectives can have theories all night long, but Adrian cares about what the injuries, timing, and physical evidence actually support.
He is intelligent without trying to prove it, and his humor is subtle. He does not need to be loud to shut down a bad theory. A simple look or one dry sentence can do the job.
He should feel professional and grounded, but not stiff. There is personality there, it just comes through in restraint, timing, and how calmly he says things other people might find uncomfortable.
What I’m looking for:
Calm, intelligent delivery
Dry humor
Strong control and timing
Able to make forensic dialogue sound natural
Comfortable with subtle acting
Can challenge other characters without sounding arrogant
Able to take direction and adjust a performance
Commitment:
This is a series regular role, so I’m looking for someone who wants to stay with OIU long-term. You’ll need to be available for future episodes, retakes, and scheduled IMVU filming sessions.
- male adult
Dry / Personality “Could be. I enjoy when you answer your own questions.” Direction: Very dry. Almost amused, but understated.
Forensic / Professional “The head injury came from the fall. The bruising on her wrists didn’t. That happened afterward, which means whatever happened in that parking lot didn’t end when she hit the ground.” Direction: Calm and clinical, but clear enough that the detectives immediately understand why it matters.
Serious / Challenging the Theory “You can build the cleanest theory in the world, but if the injuries don’t support it, it’s wrong. So either the witness is missing something, or you are.” Direction: Firm, controlled, and confident. No attitude for the sake of attitude.
Description / Characteristics
Age: 35 | OIU Commander
Simone is the person holding the entire unit together.
She is calm, strategic, and very hard to rattle. She does not need to raise her voice to have authority, and she is not interested in ego, drama, or sloppy police work. She built OIU to move quickly, but never recklessly.
Simone knows when to step in, when to let her detectives work, and when to force everyone back to the facts. She carries a lot of responsibility without making it everyone else’s problem.
She should feel like a real leader, not a stereotypical angry boss.
What I’m looking for:
Strong, grounded authority
Calm, controlled delivery
Natural leadership presence
Able to sound firm without shouting
Good emotional restraint
Strong timing in tense scenes
Able to take direction and adjust a performance
Commitment:
This is a series regular role, so I’m looking for someone who wants to stay with OIU long-term. You’ll need to be available for future episodes, retakes, and scheduled IMVU filming sessions.
- female adult
Calm / Commanding “Carter. Bennett. We’ve got a missing twenty-four-year-old, possible blood scene, Mercer and Ninth. Grab your coats.” Direction: Efficient and matter-of-fact. This is routine for her, even if the case is not.
Leadership / Pressure “I’m fine with instincts. I’m not fine with building a case around one. If we can’t prove the sequence, then we don’t have the sequence.” Direction: Firm, controlled, no yelling. She is correcting the room, not performing authority.
Serious / Protective of the Unit “We move fast because people are waiting on us. That does not mean we get careless. If something does not fit, we stop, we look again, and we get it right.” Direction: Let the weight of command come through. Calm, but this matters to her.
Description / Characteristics
Age: 24 | Junior Creative Director
Leah is polished, independent, social, and usually the person who keeps herself together even when everything around her is messy.
She is smart, observant, and tired of being pulled into other people’s drama. She has a complicated relationship, a complicated friendship, and by the time we meet her, she is already emotionally drained before the actual case even begins.
Leah is not meant to be played as helpless. Even when she is scared, injured, or confused, there is still strength underneath it. I need someone who can make her feel like a real young woman having a genuinely terrifying night, not someone performing a “victim” character.
What I’m looking for:
Natural, believable delivery
Strong emotional range
Able to sound scared without overacting
Comfortable with vulnerable scenes
Can handle frustration, anger, confusion, and quieter emotional moments
Good chemistry with other actors
Able to take direction and adjust a performance
Commitment:
This is an Episode 1 guest role. You’ll need to be available for retakes and scheduled IMVU filming sessions connected to this episode.
- female adult
Casual / Personality “Your arm looks like an arm. I don’t know what you want me to fix.” Direction: Light, teasing, very natural. Let me hear Leah before anything goes wrong.
Uneasy / Suspicious “Somebody is using my picture, my name, everything. And now they’re telling me to come downstairs alone. So no, I don’t think I’m being dramatic.” Direction: She is trying to stay composed, but something about this genuinely scares her.
Emotional / Vulnerable “I remember a woman. I remember falling. Then there was someone else, a man, I think. I know that sounds confusing, but I’m telling you what I remember.” Direction: Injured, overwhelmed, and trying hard to make sense of fragmented memories. Keep it grounded, not melodramatic.
Description / Characteristics
Age: 25 | Leah’s Best Friend / Coworker
Jade is social, expressive, loyal, and a little messy.
She genuinely loves Leah, but she has also made choices she knows were stupid and is carrying around a secret she is embarrassed to admit. She is not malicious, but she can be impulsive, defensive, and way too convinced that she can fix a situation before anyone finds out.
Jade should feel like someone you would actually know. Funny, emotional, slightly chaotic, but still grounded. I do not want her played like a cartoon best friend or comic relief.
What I’m looking for:
Natural, conversational delivery
Strong emotional range
Good comedic timing without overplaying it
Able to shift from defensive to vulnerable
Comfortable with guilt, panic, embarrassment, and sincerity
Good chemistry with Leah
Able to take direction and adjust a performance
Commitment:
This is an Episode 1 guest role. You’ll need to be available for retakes and scheduled IMVU filming sessions connected to this episode.
- female adult
Casual / Personality “One more. The last one made my arm look weird.” Direction: Playful, picky, and very comfortable with Leah. This should sound like two best friends talking.
Defensive / Caught in a Lie “I made the account, okay? It was stupid. I thought Evan was cheating and Leah thought I was being dramatic. I never thought somebody else would actually use it.” Direction: Embarrassed, defensive, and starting to realize how serious the situation has become.
Emotional / Guilty “I know I didn’t put her in that parking lot. I know that. But I still made the door, and somebody else walked through it.” Direction: Quiet guilt. Do not cry through the whole line. Let the emotion build.
Description / Characteristics
Age: 26 | Leah’s Boyfriend
Evan is charming, defensive, and very good at talking his way around uncomfortable situations.
He is cheating on Leah, which makes him look guilty almost immediately, but being a bad boyfriend and being responsible for what happened to her are two very different things. A lot of Evan’s scenes depend on that tension.
He should come across like someone who knows he messed up and is trying to control how bad it looks. He can be likable one second and frustrating the next.
What I’m looking for:
Natural, conversational delivery
Charismatic without sounding slick or fake
Good defensive energy
Able to play guilt without making him seem guilty of the crime
Strong reactions when cornered
Comfortable with subtle humor and awkwardness
Able to take direction and adjust a performance
Commitment:
This is an Episode 1 guest role. You’ll need to be available for retakes and scheduled IMVU filming sessions connected to this episode.
- male adult
Casual / Defensive “Leah’s missing? Wait, what do you mean missing? I talked to her yesterday.” Direction: Genuine surprise, but he is also immediately uncomfortable because he knows he has things to hide.
Caught / Scrambling “Tess is my cousin. Okay, that sounded bad. I know how that sounded.” Direction: He lies fast, then realizes almost instantly that the lie is terrible.
Serious / Frustrated “I cheated on her. I know that makes me look like an asshole, but it does not mean I hurt her. Those are not the same thing.” Direction: Defensive, frustrated, and finally telling the truth. He wants them to believe him, but he also knows he has given them every reason not to.
Tess is blunt, confident, and completely over being dragged into someone else’s mess.
She did not ask to be part of Leah and Evan’s relationship drama, and she definitely did not expect that drama to turn into a police investigation. Tess has very little patience for Evan trying to lie his way out of things, and she is much more willing to tell the truth than he is.
She should feel sharp and self-possessed, not catty. I do not want her played like the stereotypical “other woman.” She is frustrated, embarrassed, and annoyed, but still grounded.
What I’m looking for:
Natural, confident delivery
Strong attitude without overacting
Good dry humor
Able to sound irritated without becoming cartoonish
Comfortable with awkward and confrontational scenes
Strong chemistry with Evan
Able to take direction and adjust a performance
Commitment:
This is an Episode 1 guest role. You’ll need to be available for retakes and scheduled IMVU filming sessions connected to this episode.
- female adult
Blunt / Personality “No. You made me your cousin. I’m speaking.” Direction: Dry, immediate, and completely fed up with Evan.
Defensive / Honest “He’s been here since one-thirty-seven. He ordered food, complained about the chili oil, and fell asleep during a movie. I have the receipts if you need them.” Direction: Straightforward and practical. She is annoyed, but she knows the details matter.
Frustrated / Confrontational “I already told him not to lie to you. I’m not covering for him just because he panicked and made this worse.” Direction: Firm and irritated. She is done protecting Evan from the consequences of his own choices.
Description / Characteristics
Age: 25 | Former Coworker
Nora is intelligent, resentful, and much more controlled than people expect.
She genuinely believes Leah ruined her life. In Nora’s mind, she was humiliated, pushed out, and made into the villain while Leah got to move on. That resentment has been building for months, and by the time the episode begins, it has turned into fixation.
Nora should not be played like a “crazy villain.” She is scarier when she sounds calm, rational, and completely convinced that her anger is justified.
What I’m looking for:
Controlled, believable delivery
Strong emotional restraint
Able to sound defensive without becoming frantic
Can play resentment, humiliation, anger, and entitlement naturally
Strong interrogation performance
Able to make the audience almost understand her reasoning without excusing it
Able to take direction and adjust a performance
Commitment:
This is an Episode 1 guest role. You’ll need to be available for retakes and scheduled IMVU filming sessions connected to this episode.
- female adult
Calm / Defensive “I didn’t kidnap anybody.” Direction: Calm and immediate. She says it before anyone even accuses her of that.
Resentful / Controlled “She made one report and suddenly everybody decided I was trash. She got to keep her job, keep her friends, keep everything, and I was supposed to just disappear.” Direction: Hurt and angry, but restrained. She believes every word she is saying.
Confrontational / Breaking Point “You always make it sound so simple. Like you just told the truth and everything after that was somehow my fault. You have no idea what people said to me because of you.” Direction: This is the closest she gets to losing control. Let the anger build instead of starting at full intensity.
Description / Characteristics
Age: 29 | Rideshare Driver
Marcus is not a mastermind. He is opportunistic, selfish, and dangerous because he keeps making worse decisions every time he panics.
He comes across as someone who wants badly to believe he is not the kind of person who would hurt someone. The problem is that when he gets scared, he chooses self-preservation over doing the right thing.
Marcus should feel grounded and believable. He is not a cartoon villain, and he should not sound openly evil. The tension comes from hearing someone try to justify actions that become harder and harder to defend.
What I’m looking for:
Natural, believable delivery
Strong nervous energy
Able to play panic without becoming frantic
Good emotional escalation
Can sound defensive, guilty, and self-protective
Strong interrogation performance
Able to take direction and adjust a performance
Commitment:
This is an Episode 1 guest role. You’ll need to be available for retakes and scheduled IMVU filming sessions connected to this episode.
- male adult
Defensive / Trying to Stay Calm “I didn’t hurt her. I found her like that.” Direction: He is trying to get ahead of the accusation. Keep it believable, not theatrical.
Panicked / Justifying Himself “I was going to call somebody. Then she woke up and saw me standing there, and I knew how it was going to look. I panicked.” Direction: Nervous and defensive. Let the fear build as he talks.
Breaking Under Pressure “I was trying to help her. I know I messed up, but I was trying to help her. I didn’t think any of this was going to happen.” Direction: This should sound like someone desperately trying to convince both the detectives and himself.
Description / Characteristics
Age: Open | Municipal Overnight Worker
The Street-Cleaning Driver is the first person to realize something is wrong.
While working an overnight route, they come across an abandoned purse and blood in a nearly empty parking lot. It is a small role, but it kicks off the entire investigation.
This character should feel completely real. Not dramatic, not heroic, just a regular person who suddenly realizes they may have stumbled onto something serious.
What I’m looking for:
Natural, believable delivery
Strong reaction acting
Able to sound unsettled without overdoing it
Comfortable with realistic 911-style dialogue
Clear microphone
Able to take direction and provide retakes if needed
Commitment:
This is an Episode 1 supporting role. You’ll need to be available for retakes and scheduled IMVU filming connected to this scene.
Immediate Reaction “Oh, hell no.” Direction: Quiet shock. Like you just saw something you were not expecting to see at 3 in the morning.
911 Call “911? I’m at Mercer and Ninth. I found a purse and there’s blood here. I don’t see anybody.” Direction: Nervous, but trying to stay clear and useful while speaking to the dispatcher.
Follow-Up / Uneasy “No, I didn’t touch anything. I stopped the truck as soon as I saw it. I just… I don’t know whose blood that is.”
Description / Characteristics
Age: Open | Uniformed Patrol Officer
The Patrol Officer is already on scene when OIU arrives and gives Amaya and Miles the initial rundown of what was found.
This is a small role, but the delivery matters because it helps establish the case quickly and realistically. The character should sound professional, alert, and used to working crime scenes without sounding overly formal or robotic.
What I’m looking for:
Natural, grounded delivery
Clear, professional tone
Able to deliver information without sounding like you’re reading a report
Comfortable with procedural dialogue
Clear microphone
Able to take direction and provide retakes if needed
Commitment:
This is an Episode 1 supporting role. You’ll need to be available for retakes and scheduled IMVU filming connected to this scene.
Custom Audition Lines
1. Scene Briefing
“ID says Leah Monroe, twenty-four. We called the number marked Mom from another officer’s phone. She hasn’t heard from her since yesterday afternoon.”
Direction: Professional and direct. You’re giving detectives the facts, not dramatizing them.
Scene Briefing “ID says Leah Monroe, twenty-four. We called the number marked Mom from another officer’s phone. She hasn’t heard from her since yesterday afternoon.” Direction: Professional and direct. You’re giving detectives the facts, not dramatizing them.
Follow-Up “Street cleaner found the purse. Venue staff says she was upstairs for a birthday party.” Direction: Natural, quick briefing. Keep it conversational.
Procedural / Observant “One camera on the building. Manager’s pulling the footage now. Nothing else obvious yet.” Direction: Calm and focused, like someone who has already been securing the scene and knows what the detectives need next.
Description / Characteristics
Age: Open | Rooftop Venue Manager
The Venue Manager is responsible for helping OIU piece together what happened after Leah left the rooftop party.
They are cooperative, professional, and understandably uneasy once detectives realize the venue’s security footage contains a major gap. This character is not suspicious, but they are suddenly responsible for answering a lot of questions about cameras, deliveries, and what was happening around the building that night.
This is a smaller role, but the performance should still feel natural and grounded. Think competent venue employee dealing with police in the middle of the night, not someone delivering exposition.
What I’m looking for:
Natural, believable delivery
Professional but not stiff
Comfortable with procedural dialogue
Able to sound slightly unsettled without overacting
Clear microphone
Able to take direction and provide retakes if needed
Commitment:
This is an Episode 1 supporting role. You’ll need to be available for retakes and scheduled IMVU filming connected to this scene.
Explaining the Footage “That’s her there. She comes into frame at 2:41, then the truck backs in a few minutes later and blocks the whole camera.” Direction: Matter-of-fact, but you’re starting to realize how important this footage is.
Providing Information “The truck’s from Del Mar Bakery. They deliver to the kitchen every night, usually around the same time.” Direction: Helpful and professional. You’re giving detectives something useful.
Concerned / Uneasy “I can pull the other cameras too, but that one covers most of the lot. If something happened while it was blocked, we wouldn’t have seen it.” Direction: Let a little concern creep in. The seriousness of the situation is starting to land.
Description / Characteristics
Age: Open | Creative Agency Manager
The Agency Manager appears in a flashback involving Leah and Nora’s workplace.
This character is calm, professional, and direct. They are dealing with a serious internal issue involving missing money and need to stay focused on facts rather than emotions. The scene is short, but it helps explain an important piece of the case.
The performance should feel like a real manager handling an uncomfortable workplace investigation, not someone trying to sound overly authoritative.
What I’m looking for:
Natural, professional delivery
Calm authority
Comfortable with serious workplace dialogue
Able to sound firm without sounding cold
Clear microphone
Able to take direction and provide retakes if needed
Commitment:
This is an Episode 1 supporting role. You’ll need to be available for retakes and scheduled IMVU filming connected to this scene.
Professional / Direct “The payment account belongs to you.” Direction: Calm and factual. You are presenting evidence, not accusing dramatically.
Firm / Controlled “We traced the refund activity back to your account information. I need you to explain how that happened.” Direction: Serious, measured, and professional.
Workplace Tension “This is not about who likes who in this office. It’s about missing money, and right now the records are pointing in one direction.” Direction: Firm but composed. You are trying to keep the conversation from becoming personal.
