Night Light

Night Light is a story about 8 late teens and twenty somethings figuring out their lives and processing their past together. They express their stories, hyperfixations, interests, ideals and relationships through their songs. However, I am in no way a composer and while I can try it, it won’t be as good as what I picture in my head. I am also not a music expert so I don’t have a specific genre in my head for them outside of generally alt/indie/rock.

Their band consists of five members- the lead male vocalist and a guitarist, the lead female singer and keyboardist, lead guitarist, drummer, bass. Some songs I have in mind when I think of their music are Rock Lobster (Live) by the B-52’s, It’s Okay to Punch Nazis by Cheap Perfume, What Can I Do (For You) from Steven Universe,My Girlfriend is a Witch by October County, I Wanna Be Your Dog by John McCrea, Goo Goo Muck the Cramps. I imagine their music having a lot of fun/weird sound effects/vocals (See Goo Goo Muck and Rock Lobster).

I currently have a few song ideas but the one this project is about is an album of 8-10 songs themed after classic halloween-style monsters and combining them with metaphors of their past and lives.

Examples of some songs ideas:

A vampire who is disgusted by blood but has to drink anyway as it’s important for their survival as a metaphor for some eating disorders where one is disgusted by food but still has to eat to live.

A Frankestein creature whose only wish is to please his doctor and make him happy so he takes himself apart and puts better parts in hopes of achieving that as a metaphor of kids who do anything to try to please their abusive parent(s).
