Nehrim: English voice over!

Project Overview

Nehrim is a total conversion of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, released by SureAI in 2010.

It's basically its own game with its own story built with the assets from Oblivion.

The game's audio is german only so far and only has the option of english subtitles. And that's what we want to change with this fan project.

Upon release of this page we already have about 40 people in our comminuty, many of which are voice actors.

We're searching for voice actors of all kinds since the game has more than 100 unique roles to offer. We'll be adding more of these to this page over time.

We can't offer you money, but the experience of working long term with a big, friendly team of voice actors  and contacts for possible projects in the future.

Nehrims story

The continent of Nehrim is divided by several imbalance: humans - Aeterna, fate - freedom, religion - unbelief.

Imbalances of these sorts are necessary to keep the whole world stable, yet there are some beings, calling themself light-born, that lack any kind of opposition.

Legends forsaw the coming of a Tel'Ilmaltath, or in other words, shadow-god, to demolish the reign of these false gods over mankind and give back the freedom to the people.

Resistances, such as "the sanctum", stir up the troubles between religious people and atheists by teaching "gifted ones" the arts of magic which was exclusively a privilege of the light-born and their high ranked followers.

The player, a child born by unknown parents, is such a gifted one and takes up the task to assist the sanctum in their doing.

By getting assisted by several fractions of the realm of Nehrim and freeing the shadow-born Narathzul Arantheal, who started the war against the gods centuries ago and therefore was banished by them, the sanctum formed the strongest alliance against the whole kingdom.

Jagal

Jagal is the leader of the temple and follows the theocratic rules in a radical way. When the player starts a rebellion against the theocracy, Jagal wants to suppress it by torturing the player and its companions.

He is aware that he's a very powerful magician and his voice reflects that: cold, deep, a bit aggressive. There's no contrition, no grace.

His script has about 5 lines.

The script wasn't in the proofreading so far. Mistakes will be correct in the future, so don't be irritated by that.

  • (Jagal convicts the player and its companions in a big cave after the start of the rebellion. He wants to stop them and torture them for what they’ve done.)

Not another step, ungodly brood! Oh yes, you are proof that man is truly the corrupt creature as described by the Almighty Creator.

  • (Just to show his power and what he can do if he wants. And to praise the Gods.)

Do not fear for your life, for on the one hand it is worthless anyway, compared to the glory of the Creator, and on the other, I will spare it as long as possible... so you can enjoy the torture for longer!

  • (He doesn’t want to talk any longer. He wants to act know and finish what he began. The player and his companions had to be judged.)

Enough! To the dungeon with them!

There isn't much to say about God Saldrin because he only has one line in the whole game and you don't learn much about him in other ways. But he seems to be very self-confident.

He has a godlike, rough, strong and deep voice and despises his enemy Narathzul Arantheal. The player meets him in a battle against the Gods.

Saldrin only has about 1 line.

The script wasn't in the proofreading so far. Mistakes will be correct in the future, so don't be irritated by that.

  • (Saldrin has a deep and rough voice with an aggressive undertone. He’s confident that he will defeat Arantheal with his magic and punish him for his actions.)

My magic will tear you into pieces, Arantheal! You alone bear the blame for the fact that this world eludes us and for that you deserve the maximum penalty!

Morten

Morten is a soldier, guarding a gate at the beginning of the game. His duties are very important to him.

He's hectic, a bit nervous and stressed out, because the gate is under siege. Dangerous mages are there and because of them there's no way to pass the gate. With everything the guards have they try to save the gate.

Morten has a strong, energetic voice with a soft ironic undertone when it comes to certain situations.

His script has about 15-20 lines.

  • (Morten explains with a hectic undertone what happened when the player arrives. The voice shows that Morten is angry about the dangerous mages, hectic, because he has to do a lot now to save the gate and irate about the death of one of the soldiers.)

Mages! These bastards appeared quite suddenly. They struck as Owald went out to inquire about their affairs.

  • (Seems a little bit more exhausted than in the first line and there’s unbelief about the death of the soldier and unbelief about his survival.)

He had no chance and was killed instantly. Barnick and I withdrew behind the Mine Wall just in time.

  • (From another sidequest the player asks in middle of the siege if there’s soap. Morten reacts angrily and with unbelief about such a stupid question in such a serious situation.)

What? Soap? Are you nuts or something?! We are being besieged, damn it, and you're asking for soap! Go away!

Andrusch

Andrusch appears in a sidequest the player gets from the sanctum. His problem is that his sheep are dying with no reason. He suspects Amanda, a woman that lives in a cave under his farm where she sows medicinal plants.

He is an edgy man and annoyed by everything. He seems to be thankless, because he doesn’t really appreciate the help he gets from the player. But as edgy and annoying as he seems, he’s an honest person.

Andrusch is a baritone, so his voice is not very deep but also isn’t high and soft. A middle deep voice would fit very well.

He has a minor role with about 25-30 lines.

The script wasn't in the proofreading so far. Mistakes will be correct in the future, so don't be irritated by that.

  • (Andrusch introduces the player in everything what happened and shows the pasture where his sheep are. That’s the place where the sheep become sick.)

Here is where the sheep graze and where the first ones tipped over. There is certainly something in the grass. Some devilish stuff!

  • (Andrusch explains why he cannot go to another place with his animals to solve the problem.)

I cannot take them to a different pasture because this is the only one that belongs to me and I don't have money for another.

  • (He tells the player about an idea. He thinks that a lake under his farm is the reason why his sheep become ill.)

I've heard that there is a kind of underground lake here. Might be that the water became toxic in there, for whatever reason.

Acorias is a member of the sanctum and leads the player through some mainquests. He has a neutral attitude towards the player but he doesn’t really show emotions. Even though Acorias is neutral towards the player he has confidence in him.

His voice type is deep, rough and a bit dark with an explanatory and friendly undertone.

His script has about 35 lines.

The script wasn't in the proofreading so far. Mistakes will be correct in the future, so don't be irritated by that.

  • (Acorias sees the player for the first time and welcomes him. He communicates a contract. His voice tone is neutral, explanatory but still friendly.)

Ah, you must be the new one. Merzul said, you would look after the gifted ones who did not respond to our invitation.

  • (Acorias extend his explanations regarding the contract. His voice is still neutral, explanatory and friendly.)

Precisely. Some had received the letter, but apparently did not take it seriously enough. Even though, in retrospect, that was lucky for them. However, we cannot allow these people to blurt out anything about us.
Either we will get them to side with us after all, or..  otherwise, they just know too much.

  • (Acorias tells from the first person of this contract the player has to find.)

The first case is very close, in Sildren, a small working village. Most people there are slaves who have to cut down trees. You can find the village just south of the Sanctum, past Arantheal's monument. Follow the road.

He is a volatile character, so he makes some jokes sometimes but is also annoyed by a few questions of the player. He is a very ironic character and a bit narcissistic.

But all in all, he looks someway funny because of his ironic vein.

His script has about 10-15 lines.

  • (The player confronts Kreo with his concern to free Kim but Kreo is a bit outraged about that and reacts annoyed with an aggressive undertone.)

You want to buy one of my slaves, do you? Do you know how hard it is these days to get slaves? My slaves are not for sale!

  • (The player still wants to save Kim. Kreo shows his lack of understanding about this but with an ironic and amused undertone.)

You amuse me, stranger. Why go to so much trouble for one slave? They’re slaves. Dirt. Why would you waste your time on something like that?

  • (Kreo is now a little bit more serious. He doesn’t want to lose Kim without a replacement. Especially the last sentence shows how serious he is with that. He also speaks there with a harsh undertone.)

But, if you want this slave so much, for whatever reason, you must bring me a replacement. A slave for a slave, an eye for an eye – you understand, yes? Otherwise, leave me in peace.

  • (The player wakes up after he got knocked out and Solran wants to start the torture. He doesn’t show much emotions but you can hear that he’s pleased about the following incident.)

So, here we are. We are going to prepare you for your life as a slave. When we are done with you, the word obedience will have a whole new meaning for you.

  • (Esara has a godlike voice and in this line she’s sure to be stronger than the enemy. Together with the other Gods they will defeat Arantheal. To make it short: She’s self-confident and has this tone: “I’m stronger than you and I will defeat you easily. You have no chance”.)

Arantheal... you're here. You want to take on the six of us? You defeated Erodan only by trickery! We are clearly superior to you!

Merzul is the leader of "the sanctum", the hideout for outlawed mages.  He introduces the player to the story and his mission to find and free Narathzul Arantheal, the allied shadow born. Merzul is many hundreds of years old, but has the appearance and voice of a man in his late 40's. He's very mysterious and wise.

The script has about 200 lines.

  • The common man in the street believes in the Creator as well as six other Gods. Actually, it is not false because let me tell you, these powers do exist. The Gods are not only in the imagination of the people and the words of the priest, but also in reality.

  • Know this: only the Tel'lmaltath, the Shadow God, has the power to lead the Order to victory. His coming is written in the so-called Predetermination; it is only a matter of time until he arises. It will be Narathzul Arantheal.

  • If you come across any mages here in the Middlerealm that attack you, then they are members of an association that used to be called Etronar and was based in Erothin. The chancellor Barateon drove them from there in his efforts to ban magic, and since then they have been enemies of anyone who does not belong to them.

  • Oh... yeah, I'm Celebro. I see you got a pretty nasty bump on your head, too. Nice mess we’re in, huh?  Somebody’s given us a beating. Or better said, something has.

  • It looks like we have a problem. These beasts seem to think we’re food... which certainly explains all the dead laying around everywhere.

  • Oh, uh, don't get me wrong... it's nothing personal... it's just that neither I, Merzul nor anyone else has any idea of what happened there. It could be something harmless, but just as easily... something different.

  • I will have to solve the blockage so that the energy current starts to flow again. This is in itself not a problem, but it will call more golems onto our plane. You will have to deal with them while I unblock the Sanctum and get everything flowing in the right direction again.

  • But now that you mention it, he should be back by now. Who knows, maybe he's been kidnapped. It's happened before. Bandits and such. So far, some insufferable do-gooder has always brought him back. A pity, because if the Captain actually continues to stay missing for three days, then I'll become the captain.

  • Well, maybe everything works out this time. You sweetie pies are just gonna have to come back then. When I'm captain! Or that bugger comes back, anyway. We'll see.
