Monster Shenanigans Episode 4

Monster Shenanigans Episode 4

Project Overview

Welcome to Monster Shenanigans, where with each hunt, comes plenty of shenanigans! The series revolves around a SwitchAxe Hunter, tasked with ensuring that each hunt they’re sent on is successful. Yet, each hunt challenges them in more ways than one, and they must do what they can to overcome and adapt to each situation. But behind everything, each hunt has a reason, and each encounter leads to an even bigger plot behind it all. With each episode featuring new characters and faces, this comedy/drama visual audio series is solely produced by one individual who got bored and wanted to make a funny series.

In this episode, SwitchAxe is late to a hunt, and meets the handler in charge of a Magnet Spike Hunter, who coincidently vanished. Alongside them, Palico Neenee leads them into a large cavernous area, where the hunter in questions lies. What is the monster they're taking on this time? And what lessons will be learned for the SwitchAxe Hunter?

Introducing the Magnet Spike Hunter! Still a bit new to the job, they do their best to ensure a successful hunt. So long as their handler stays a distance away and isn’t always panicking about the slightest thing that they do.

Personality: They are always excited for a hunt! At least… when their handler is not nearby. Typically, they try their best to ensure they are on a team with a different handler before their handler can take over, as well as avoid doing solo hunts. They are a bit forgetful when they are busy in battle, forgetting the smaller things they can do, but once reminded, they can be a force to reckon with.

  • (Panicked) Can you run any faster?!

  • (To themself) Do I just tune out them making cat puns?

  • (Sheathing their weapon) Thanks. Let’s get out of here, I hate spiders.

Introducing Handler Aaron! Aaron is a bit of a… scaredy cat, being the best way to put it. They are not a fan of anything hunting related, and will do their best to avoid running into one as best they can. With not much experience being on the field, unlike that of Magnet Spike, he tends to keep as close as he can to them. But much to his dismay, that would be the one thing that breaks the camels back.

Personality: Very anxious, one you would see dealing with separation anxiety. He has a bit of a “whiny” persona to them, trying to find a reason to blame someone else for their mistake or to seem as if they’re “right to be upset.” A clashing persona that one has to do well to convey and really bring to life.

  • Fuck, fuck, fuck…! I’m so screwed if this hunter doesn’t get here!

  • (A bit tired from panicking earlier) I should report this behavior to the Guild Knights, you know!

  • (Dismounting their seikret and moving close to the edge to call out, still in hushed tone) Hurry up! We don’t know when it’ll be back!

Introducing Palico Neenee! Neenee is the furry feline friend of Mag Spike, ensuring the hunts go well and assist in every way possible. They do their best to keep the obvious tension between both the hunter and handler at ease, trying to ensure that the hunts go well. But of course, not everyone gets the ending they’re looking for.

Personality: They love making the occasional cat pun, trying to be clever with everything they say. But for the most part, they go with the usual “meowster” or “meownster” cause… meow?

  • (Groans) I’ve seen hairballs with better attacking prowess.

  • (Purrs) You got this meowster! Time this jump purrfectly!
