Monster Roommates

Project Overview

NOTE: Project is 18+, BUT this post will not contain any explicit content. That said, if you are under 18, please look elsewhere as I'm only looking to hire adults.

Monster Roommates is an upcoming animated webseries focusing on a jaded 26-year old and her three monstrous roommates. This fantasy series is an adult, comedic slice-of-life that explores the struggles of keeping three monsters in line, all while dealing with some unexpected romantic feelings for them. The story follows Winona, a tired and irritable cryptid-lover, Alistar, a dignified demon curious about humans, Ophelia, a split personality plant monster with plans of world domination, and Xephos, a big horny idiot who's only goal is to populate the Earth with his species.

This series is part of a class I'm currently taking, and I will be fully animating/completing 2 shorts and building an animatic for the third. Each will be 30 seconds to a minute long and will be posted to Youtube.

I'm looking to hire four voice actors for these 3 shorts. As I'm a student, I can only afford volunteer work at the moment. However, I'm hoping to continue this series past school and possibly provide payment for future shorts.


As mentioned before, this series is 18+ and will feature sexual gags and content. My first three shorts will be very light on this, but if you were to stick with me with this project, please be prepared for much more risque content in the future.

  • Roles Cast!

    Hey everyone! The roles have been cast! Just wanted to thank everyone again for all your time and auditions, it means so much to me knowing so many people were interested in this silly project of mine.   • Update + Reminders!

    Hi everyone! It's been a busy few weeks but I'm slowly narrowing down roles (you guys are making it SUPER tough, thank you so much for all your enthusiasm ; _ ; ). This is also just a reminder that THIS IS A NSFW SERIES! I know I mentioned this in the project bio, but I just wanted to make sure everyone's on the same page. Future episodes may contain heavy flirting/light sex scenes/etc, so if that's something you're not comfortable being a part of, please let me know and back out if needed! And lastly, I'd hope it's a bit clear in the concept itself, but these characters are all LGBT+, and if that's something you're also not comfortable in partaking in, this may not be the project for you. ^^;; Thanks so much again for all your patience, I promise I'll have a final update out soon.   • Auditions Closed !

    Hey everyone! Auditions close today and I just wanted to sincerely thank you all for your submissions. This is my first time trying this site and I was overwhelmed with gratitude that so many people took time out of their day to apply to this silly project of mine.   • Winona is tired and irritated on the outside, but can also be very caring and easily flustered. She tries to act as a guide for her roommates, teaching them human behaviors and traditions in a way a modern day 20-something-year-old would. 

  • Looking for a mid-range voice, not too high and not too deep. She can be very deadpan/serious at times but can also shift to a gentler, sweeter tone.

  • Open to adlibbing and modifications to lines (as long as there's at least one take with the original).

  • Alistar is very formal and dignified, but contains a child-like curiosity for humans. He's very sweet and adores praise from Winona whenever he can get it. He is often subject to bullying from his other monstrous companions for his attempts at replicating human behavior.

  • Looking for a somewhat soothing voice, slightly on the deeper end.

  • A voice filter that adds a hint of "monster" is preferred, but that can be something done later as well.

  • Open to adlibbing and modifications to lines (as long as there's at least one take with the original).

  • IMPORTANT: Ophelia is basically two personalities in one, and she switches between the two randomly. I will indicate which Ophelia is speaking via [Shy] and [Flirty]. Note that these are not always indicators of her tone, but of which personality is speaking.

Example 1: [Shy] (worried) I-I don't know about this.

Example 2: [Flirty] (annoyed) Look dude, I don't have time for this.


  • Ophelia can be very shy, nervous, and sweet. She stutters often and has less confidence than her flirty counterpart. Think Fluttershy.

  • She can also be rude, flirty, and outgoing, not afraid to speak her mind.

  • Looking for someone who can pull off the personality switch, with two distinct voices - one softer, perhaps slightly higher pitched - and one a bit deeper/mid-range to indicate a complete tonal shift.

  • A voice filter that adds a hint of "monster" is preferred, but that can be something done later as well.

  • Open to adlibbing and modifications to lines (as long as there's at least one take with the original).

  • Xephos is your local dudebro/himbo/chad idiot/etc. He's very chill/relaxed and only cares about sex. He can be incredibly annoying and destructive and often gets on the nerves of his roommates. Despite all this, however, he has a good heart.
