Hello everyone, now some of you have probably heard of and/or played a racing game from the PS1 called Mega Man: Battle & Chase and enjoyed what was there, but thought it was nothing special and lacked replay value aside from kart customization. The thing is however that the English version released in Europe and on the Mega Man X Collection were HEAVILY stripped down in an aspect that changes the entire foundation of the game...a sporting atmosphere.
That's right, before Street Fighter 6 came in with dynamic host commentary, this game did it and thensome. Interviews with the characters before races, advice on the track selection for what would be best to customize for, voiced cutscenes and endings that make replaying the game as every character more rewarding, and of course unique color commentary during the races by the three hosts that were mostly excluded from the English version. This takes a game that was otherwise trial and error configuring and long stretches of not much happening and turns it into a special and fast paced game that earned its Japanese following for a reason.
So what I want to do is to bring this experience to English audiences by taking the Japanese version's full package and backporting the European version's English language, and that's where you guys come in. I'm looking for voice actors that can bring all these characters to life. Meanwhile, audio work and voice directing are gonna be done on my end, with the translations of dialogue being done with help from friends with a fluent understanding of Japanese. I'm also gonna be looking for help to edit the text in game as well, but anyone who's interested can join regardless, and I wish all those who do good luck!
Also to be clear, there's gonna be more roles down the line for more minor characters, but I wanted to cast the main players casted first before anything. Plus this is a non-profit fan project, it's a project I'm making for the sake of letting more people see this game in the best possible form.
For those of you who auditioned, thank you for even wanting to take part in this, it means so much to have all your support. Now the casting call reached it's deadline, but there's still others who I'm waiting on to get their auditions. So until then, I'm just gonna shortlist the auditions I have, while I leave them open for anymore takers. Once again, I thank you all for your support on this project and am hoping to get started soon.

I really appreciate all the auditions this project is getting already, but I'm actually good to extend the deadline by two more weeks to get a good number of them ready to go. Also I plan to actually audition myself, but don't worry about any bias because I'm gonna have a fellow director be the judge of my submissions, and if it can be helped, to have every character get a different voice actor.
Okay, I managed to muster the time to add the remaining prominent characters to the roles list, Dr. Light, Auto, Turbo Man and the Dark Troops. Now that the casting call is complete, I wish everyone good luck to give it their all!
The Blue Bomber himself, also known as Dr. Light's lab assistant Rock. He's a pacifistic but courageous & selfless helper robot that was modified into a super fighting robot to stop Dr. Wily's world domination schemes. With his dog Rush modified into the Rush Roadstar, he entered the Battle & Chase competition to help fund for Dr. Light's destroyed computer with the high zenny prize.
You can choose to do whatever voice you have in mind for Mega Man as long as it gets the core of his dedicated and heroic personality. Though for me, something along the lines to his voice in Mega Man Powered Up would be most preferable.

Dr. Light's most dedicated helper, Roll's just about always sweeping around his lab with broom in hand. She's a joyful sweetheart to nearly all she meets, always encouraging Mega Man whenever he needed it. She sought to do the same when he entered Battle & Chase...but being unable to resist the urge to drive, she joined with Beat the bird modified into the car Pop'n Beat.
Admittedly, I'm not a big fan of any English takes on her, so I'll say that for me, I want her to have a voice that embodies the young kid sister. Very cutesy and innocent, but cheery and stubborn.

The first humanoid robot created by Dr. Light, Proto Man plays by his own rules and pushes for independence, even if it risks his own life. Aside from that, he's cool, collected and mostly a lone wolf, though not without a moral code. Sensing that Dr. Wily's going to Battle & Chase to steal the prize zenny, he joined the race with the Red Striker to stop him and win it himself fair and square.
Honestly, any take on him is welcome. Just make him a character that oozes mystery from his aura, and you're golden.
I'll help you this time...but remember this, Light! I haven't forgiven you!

Hmm? What's wrong with you? You've got a fever... I guess that's what they call poetic justice.
Created by Dr. Wily to rival Mega Man in just about every way, Bass is almost the complete opposite of Mega Man personality wise. He's arrogant, hot tempered, vain and obsessed with power, having a bone to pick with both Mega Man and anyone who believes they could do a better job than him. Naturally, he entered Battle & Chase with his wolf Treble modified as the Treble Darkstar to settle the score once he heard Mega Man entered as well.
Any take on the character is solid, but he should absolutely be as angsty as possible.

Mega Man and car racing? Hmm, a great opportunity to prove who's the best.
One of the original Robot Masters created by Dr. Light, there's not many who can say they are as mighty(or memeable) as Guts Man. He's more or less a stereotypical foreman, gruff, brotherly, and dedicated to his job. Because of this however, he sought to enter the race to buy himself a lifetime supply of E-Tanks to keep his energy going all the way through.
Frankly, I love just about every portrayal there as ever been for Guts Man, from the canon games like Powered Up to even interpretations from shows like the Ruby Spears series. So in other words, have fun with him and don't hold back with any bit of ham.

This inuit-like little guy is another one of Light's original robot masters entering the tournament. His personality is quite extravagant, having a love for artistically showing off, whether it be skating, ice sculpting or his emotional passions. Though with him being most comfortable in the cold than the summer heat, he entered the race with his Cool Mobile to win money for a South Pole vacation.
Honestly, this is one character where I'll welcome ANY approach, because Ice Man is generally pretty loose for interpretation whether it be an energetic tike, a more sinister jerk, or a wannabe soldier with BPD and PTSD...yeah, Powered Up was weird. Feel free to experiment with this role.

Arguably one of Wily's most dangerous creations, it wouldn't be a race without Quick Man. Befitting a speed junkie, he's impulsive, confident and impatient, though he's also surprisingly cunning and quick-witted despite that. He came in the race with the Sonic Formula to take on Turbo Man...who unfortunately had circumstances preventing him from competing, but with it still being a chance to prove he's the fastest, it didn't deter him much.
Really what you see is what you get, so I really don't have much else to offer in directions.
(Losing a race) This is embarrassing... I mean, I'm Quickman!

Because to destroy you in a glorious battle, that is my aspiration! Then I will be the world's number one robot!
Said to be the first extraterratrial robot, Wily modified that body into an unpredictable ninja warrior. He's very short with his words and quite polite, but very easily bored and loves surprising people with any new tricks he can think of. This is why he entered the race with the Shinobi Master, to build a ninja house of tricks with most of the prize zenny and pay those who can get through with the rest of it.
Plain and simple, make him feel like a dangerous ninja that can strike you any time.
You've outlived your time! Let's go!

Heh, I can almost see the shock on your face in my mind's eye.
Incredibly militaristic and an avid collector of all kind of artiliery, this is one competitor who seems nearly unstoppable. He's literally built like a tank and has the temper to boot, but he's also an incredible strategist knowing his way around jungles and hidden weapon storages. Hearing of Battle & Chase gave him the drive to bring out the Patriot Bomber and win cash for the weapons museum he's always wanted to open.
For his voice, make him feel like a truly unstoppable force with diplomacy, like a hardened war veteran.
It doesn't matter how many compete against me, my bombs will clear them all out of the way!

You actually put a good strategy out there...
Despite being one of Wily's secret robots, Spring Man can be best defined as always jovial, fun and carefree, especially when he's given space to jump really high. However, he's also incredibly lightweight and clumsy being built like a spring, which puts him in a lot of danger even when he's NOT just bouncing for fun. Because of that, he entered with the Surprise Boxer to buy heavy machine parts to keep him from getting hit by any more low ceilings.
Spring Man should absolutely have a voice like that of an excitable, charming and cheeky clown, maybe along the lines of Martin Short for a comparison.

The big bad himself, Dr. Wily's always around to cause trouble, especially to spite Dr. Light. He's most known for being stubborn, prideful and vengeful, but also petty, selfish and cowardly...VERY cowardly. In this case, he came to steal the prize zenny and escape with his new Skull Machine XX, this time modelled after the very cars entered in the show.
Whichever voice is done for Wily, he should be a pretty goofy villain with a slimy pettiness to his actions.

Duo is a mysterious galactic officer, who's sworn duty it is to destroy evil energy. He's an incredibly adaptable, noble and determined hero with a strong sense of justice, who can even sense it from others he partners with like Mega Man. He doesn't seem much for talk, but it's not because he's not competitive, it's because he'd rather let his performance and Hard Granger do all the talking.
I personally envision Duo as having a voice and personality like that of a mature, brotherly soldier, so that should be most important to bring to the audition.

The most extroverted of the three reporters, Plum is where the true fun of Battle & Chase comes from. She's the interviewer of the racers, always popping up with an interview and details to pry, even having high speed skates to catch you should you decline and speed off. She's also a commentator with Ripot, continuing to bring insight on whatever she feels could become great television.
Plain and simple, she should be the kind of character with the ability to keep everyone's attention on her, having a great sense of entertainment and intrigue.
(Interviewing the racers) Hi! This is Plum at the starting line. These are some cute machines they entered, aren't they?
(Dealing with a speeder) I'd like to get a GREAT scope on you-hey, hey! Where are you going? Don't think you'll be riding without me!
I will hand this over to Mr. Ripot, who is doing the commentary.
A big help before the race even starts, Chest provides commentary for the racers themselves for any advice they need on their opponent and the track. He's the member of the group who does the most to play up the drama of the races, sounding very intent with any information he wants to get out there to make the show more interesting. His more serious tone amongst the crew balances out compared to how the other two simply wanna play up passion for the camera.
I personally believe he should have a distinctive serious news anchor voice who is very matter of fact in how he treats all the events.
We have kept you waiting for a year, now this race has 10 million zenny to win.
This round has a very pecular design to the course, it's completely skill based, meaning whether you win is up to one false move.
This year, Battle and Chase will be close. Who will win? Don't blink before you find out.
The guy who has the most to say through all the races is none other than the overhead reporter, Ripot. He flies all throughout the races to get a good view of everything and describe all to the camera, making everything as exciting to watch as possible. He's an incredible ham all the way when it comes to his constant commentary, also bringing the prize to whoever happens to win the races.
He needs to sound like an incredibly fun commentator, able to make Battle & Chase feel like a larger than life event just by his personality.
Okay, Ms. Plum! We're ready to scout the track, lot of dangers abroad. Will they survive? Who knows?

This here's a gang of unexpected, unwelcomed and uninvited guests who show up for who they feel are the best of the best. They are made up of the shady Dark Joe, the fragmented hive-like Dark 4 Roaders, and the incomprehensible but well spoken Dark Yellow Devil. They all have distinct ways of showing their stuff, but equally confident in putting super stars in their place, even putting their incredible parts on the line, sure that none could ever get them.
These roles essentially act as extras, and are even open to multiple people getting different roles. So to recap, Dark Joe is deep and shady, Dark 4 Roaders are robotically scattered in their speech and insect-like, and Dark Yellow Devil is well spoken, but can only say the word bumo.
(Dark Joe) Come on, let's go one on one. I'll show you what a real race is.
(Dark 4 Roader) Fight, fight against us! We are going! Yeah!
(Dark Yellow Devil speaking in bumo) Will you accept my challenge? I say, I shall beat you.
The creator of Rock, Roll and many of the more kind hearted helper bots, Dr. Light is as jouvial and warm hearted as his Santa Claus-like appearance can muster. He almost entirely does all of his actions for the goodness of mankind, with Mega Man being the biggest symbol of his message. During Battle & Chase however, his computer got destroyed in an electrical storm, and without his knowing, Rock entered Battle & Chase to help pay for a new computer.
This'll be a more minor role, but Dr. Light at his core needs the warmth and comfort of a jolly joy bringer, serious in his ideals but selfless and caring to the end.

Arguably Dr. Light's most prominent assistant might also be the Blue Bomber's biggest fan...with a whole collection of paper fans to prove it. He's usually pretty upbeat and eccentric, but he's also a wannabe hero that happens to be a huge help thanks to his fanaticism of inventing helping him bring many items, upgrades and weapons to help anyone with the right amount of bolts. He doesn't actually show up at the races...but you might catch him with Eddie pretending to race during the loading screen.
This'll be another minor role, but Auto could be best likened voice and personality-wise to a weebish fan of the Mega Man games able to help him out with a fanatic knowledge of his world. Though with his Kansai dialect in the original, might help to make him more casual and comical with his speech.

(Legally distinct censors in this part) Incredibly incredible! That blade is just like StrXXer HXXyu(Strider Hiryu)...Oh! Okay, I'll never say that again.
Turbo Man is in the same branch as Spring Man in being part of Wily's seventh batch of robot masters. However just like how Spring Man mellowed out, Turbo Man's become much more of a humble mentor compared to the cocky racer he was before, also being well known as one of the best Battle & Chase racers. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to show up for mechanically issue much to Quick Man's chagrin as someone who wanted to race him, but why did he have issues? Blame the Dark Troops.
I'd say have the capacity to keep the cockier personality he previously had, but come off as someone who knows the career of racing inside out.

I can even give a handicap if you wish, your cornering is pretty weak at the moment.
Now I put this role here because even with the translators I have, we could still use all the help we can get. If you're able to do fluent Japanese translations or even able to work the original meanings into solid dialogue, it'd be a great help.
