Project Overview
THE TIME TO AUDITION IS NO MORE!
I would like to sincerely thank everyone who took time out of their busy days to audition for my project, it means a lot! I will comb through these responses and hopefully have final voices selected within the next few days!
INTRODUCTION
Hi! My name is Lauren Keating and I am a Senior Animation major at the School of Visual Arts! I am in great need of voice actors for my thesis, Love Sapper (working title). I have previously found great success on this website when casting for my junior year film MAGEMENDER and am very excited to work with such a great community of voice actors once again!
SUMMARY OF FILM:
The day starts out the same as any other for visual novel romance love interest Venus- cycling through the same tired dialogue options for hours at a time with a player whose face she's never seen. Suddenly, the dialogue boxes she knows like the back of her hand start glitching. Violently. That's no problem right? probably just a bug that's yet to be patched? As the distortion continues, Venus is transported to and area of the game she had never seen before, and she meets someone she never knew existed.
MINOR LOVE SAPPER CLARIFICATIONS REGARDING THE ANIMATIC:
MISC LOVE SAPPER FACTS:
- This film will be 2.5D! Blender backgrounds with character animation done with the grease pencil!
- I plan to have the film done in April (as per my school's deadline), but final polishing might leak into the summer!
- When I finish the film I would really like to post it to YouTube and maybe enter it into my school's film festival!
- This goes without saying, but I'm gonna say it anyway! The voice actors chosen for the three roles in this film will 100% receive credits for their work at the end of the film.
IMPORTANT INFO:
- I am a student with a student budget, so 45$ for the voice of Venus and 35$ Per voice actor of P.C. is unfortunately the most I can pay.
- Payment is in USD and will be sent through PayPal!
- You can try out for as many of the roles as you would like
- Not sure how many additional gasps, grunts, or sighs will be needed, but the VA must be willing to provide such effects should the need arise
- Final recordings for the film must be clear and free of background noise! I will be a little more lax with the audition recordings but a poorer quality audition recording does make me feel less inclined to choose you.
- Please keep takes to 2-3 per line and provide your audition in one file if possible!
- Files should be .wav! (for the actual film, auditions being mp3s is perfectly fine!)
- I'd prefer to contact the final VAs through discord but email also works fine!
- I will be including an animatic with no voices and scratch music, you can watch this to get a better grasp of your chosen character's role in the film should you feel so inclined (HIGHLY encouraged for people interested in playing P.C.)!
DEADLINES:
The deadline for auditions is Saturday, October 21st at 10:00PM ET! Afterwards I will review the submissions and try to get back to the final VAs as soon as possible! Please know that if you audition you are already doing me a massive service, and I am grateful for every submission! Even if you are not picked, you should be proud!

Love Sapper's main lead! She's the main love interest of a popular (and as far as she knows, normal) visual novel romance game! She is about to have a very confusing and tumultuous next couple of hours!
- I imagine Venus typically speaks in a cutesy, softer voice but she can really crank it when scared or exasperated (which, unfortunately for her, is the majority of the film) (sorry Venus).
- Young adult voice preferred, as in 20-25ish sounding voice range.
- Venus has the most lines in the film at 12!
- Must be able to scream without clipping the mic
- I do not mind what recording software you use, but please keep the audio clear and send to me as a .wav file, thank you!

The Player Character for a game that never needed one! their incorporeal nature in this game means they have no set form and they are being so brave about it!
- Many different vessels means many different voices! Having a good range is greatly appreciated, but I will more than likely be choosing multiple people and mixing and matching lines!
- Feminine, masculine and androgynous voices all work for this role and are all encouraged!
- Ability to do a grand, booming voice for P.C.'s initial introduction is highly encouraged!
- Just for clarity's sake, the voice changes every form, not every line (I highly encourage watching the animatic for voice inspiration)!
- P.C.'s line count comes out to a whopping 9!
- I do not mind what recording software you use, but please keep the audio clear and send to me as a .wav file, thank you!
