Looking For An Artist For My Webcomic

Looking For An Artist For My Webcomic

Project Overview

Howdy hey there! I’m looking for a dedicated, aspiring webcomic artist who can help with a dream project of mine! I’m a YouTuber with 50k subscribers who started writing a story called Yandere City a few years back. The roleplay series that this story was written for was pretty successful on my channel, but I decided to cancel it after only 8 episodes and later realized that I wanted to rewrite the story for the hopes of it becoming a webcomic one day. The issue is that I don’t have the skills necessary to bring my vision to life in this format, so that’s where this casting call comes in!

I am hoping to find someone who will be able to create the webcomic pages, illustrate them, and send them to me. I’m looking for a person who will be active and responds promptly so that this project can go as smoothly as possible! Being unresponsive or consistently lacking communication (as dictated by me) can result in you being removed from this project.

The story first kicks into motion when a 17 year old boy named Anthony with the ability to see visions of the past and future through his dreams moves to a new city. On his first night there, the boy sees a vision of one of his classmates, Brandon, dying in the back of an alley as the culprit, a mysterious masked woman, goes for the kill. In order to stop this from happening, the main characters soon learn they must learn to combat the dangers of the criminal underground, discover more about the masked superhero that roams the city streets at night, and uncover the hidden information about the previous events that earned this place the nickname “Yandere City.” As the secrets of the strange events they are surrounded by begin to unfold around our characters, the return of the “Yandere” seems more like something that will bring upon a new chapter for the entire city. This is a story about learning to take control of one’s own life even at the expense of getting out of a comfort zone. Don’t be bogged down by the past, because the future is still untapped.

This is a fantasy/crime/mystery story and will include:

- Magic (Fire)

- Spirits

- Magic Dimensions

- Gun fights

- Knife fights

- Hand-to-hand combat

- Blood (nothing TOO crazy for the most part)

In this audition, the best things I’m hoping to find include the following:

- Creativity (!!!!)

- Visually appealing character designs and backgrounds

- Skills in the ability to shade and use screen tones. Colors are always nice too (lol).

- Your character expressions (body/facial and possible action sequences would be nice since this will include fight scenes).

Like I mentioned earlier, getting selected for this position would mean that you’ll be expected to respond to my messages in a prompt manner. I would like this to be a fun experience for both of us and that can only happen if we are both on the same page of course!

Honestly, I don’t know much about drawing/storyboarding but I will try to assist as much as possible in making the vision come to life. Any questions you may have will usually be answered by me relatively quickly. I am hoping to have your initial draft for each installment of the webcomic within a 1 1/2 week deadline (10/11 days) and a final version 1/2 a week after that (3/4 days). This ultimately meaning that the deadline for each installment after I reach out to you would be 2 weeks. Please send the finished pages to me as you complete them so I can give you feedback or request any changes.

Currently I don’t have a strict schedule in mind for this project, so it’ll sorta just be a “go with the flow” fun little experience that I hope can reach a sizable audience in time. This means that the deadline that I mentioned earlier CAN have a bit of wiggle room, but I still want some consistency or I will need to reevaluate the partnership, which may lead to your removal on the project. I mainly have the deadlines there to keep us on track, but I hope that with better clarity as the series goes on, I will have a more set schedule. If the scheduling becomes a problem in the future, just let me know and we’ll see what we can do. I will be promoting this project on my channel once it’s off the ground to hopefully build some traction because I’m still getting requests to continue the roleplay series to this day lol.

I'm suuuper excited to get this going! Good luck and let’s make this a super fun project for us both!!

Paid: Flat Rate 50 USD
Role assigned to: Leehoohnn200

Show me your art please! You can just upload the art you feel showcases your talents and what you can bring to the table here or link to a page/website where your art is featured. I'm looking for art that would be in a webcomic/manga style (hopefully what you would willingly be bringing to the table when it comes to this project). Colors are preferred, but if they don't have any, I'll just be looking to make sure that the shading is done well. Getting selected for this will land you in a position where you would get $50 for every installment (chapter) of the webcomic. Make sure to add any information that you think would be of importance for me to know in a small bio along side what you are submitting for this role. Don't forget to add your discord username as well. Thank you so much!!!
