Lionheart: Final Fantasy VIII
Project Overview
This is our fan anime for Final Fantasy VIII, All positions are open for the project, This will be a four season long anime, Set on an unnamed fantasy world with science fiction elements, the anime follows a group of young mercenaries, led by Squall Leonhart, as they are drawn into a conflict sparked by Ultimecia, a sorceress from the future who wishes to compress time. I have well thought out this animation for the longest now, it would be great to see some positions!
Please read these before auditioning
1. We prefer microphone level at little to no background noise as possible
2. This is a long term anime, this anime could take a couple years to finish if you are willing to handle it all please tag along
3. You must have a discord, that is where almost all work will be handled

Squall starts an introverted, cold and taciturn teenager who pushes away those who would otherwise be considered his friends. Though withdrawn, Squall does not shirk from what he considers his duty. As much as he resents assuming leadership, he is the first to ensure that what is necessary gets done. Squall's pragmatism and sense of responsibility lead others to trust and follow him. Even though everyone agrees Squall can be difficult, staff and students alike admire him, and he is eventually appointed Commander of Balamb Garden much to his dismay. Squall becomes the de facto leader of the party, though at first, he dislikes his comrades looking to him for orders and advice.
"Seifer... You've become just a memory. Will they... Will they talk about me this way if I die, too? Squall was this and that. Using past tense, saying whatever they want? So this is what death is all about... ...Not for me. I won't have it!!"
"I don't mind fighting the sorceress. It's unavoidable as long as I'm a SeeD member. What? As long as I'm a SeeD member? What if I quit? Quit... Then what? What do I have left? Don't even want to think about it. Just stop thinking... "
"Why do people depend on each other? In the end you're on your own. I'm fine by myself now. I have all the skills I need to survive. I'm not a child anymore... That's a lie. I don't know anything. I'm confused. I don't want to depend on anyone. How can I do that? Someone tell me... Someone? So I'll end up depending on others after all... "

Rinoa is compassionate, warm, and friendly, although she can act stubborn and naive. She was born to a well-to-do family, her father heading the Galbadian military, but she is concerned by the state of the world. Rinoa joins a resistance movement fighting Galbadia to achieve Timber's independence in a mixture of genuine desire to fight for Timber and rebellion against her father. The Forest Owls are amateurish, and she has little experience with the realities of combat and is anxious at the prospect of fighting solo. She can be impulsive and act without thinking, which gets her into trouble. She is loyal to her friends and committed to doing what she thinks is right.
(Flirtatiously) "You're-going-to-like-me! You're-going-to-like-me! Did it work?"
" guess...I'm getting scared. Sometimes...when I'm with all of you... I...feel like we're on the same wavelength......you know? But when the battles start happening, it's different. Everyone's tempo seems to pick up and... ...I get left behind. I try to catch up, but it's no use... How far is everyone going? I can't hear anyone... Once I catch up, I wonder... Is everyone safe? Will they welcome me with open arms? ......Is everyone ok? Will we all make it back together?"

When first introduced, Edea is possessed by Ultimecia, a sorceress from the future, and is thus portrayed as a vain, power-hungry and remorseless sadist. All traces of her once kind and loving personality are purged from under Ultimecia's possession to be replaced by an all-consuming desire for world domination. In actuality, Edea is benign and gentle. Although she has been under the stigma of being a sorceress ever since the age of five, she doesn't resent the world for the prejudice it must have shown her. She devotes her life to helping others, focusing upon the children she cares for in her orphanage. Those raised by her are reluctant to accept the deeds performed by a possessed Edea are those committed by their beloved matron.
"Lowlifes... Shameless filthy wretches. How you celebrate my ascension with such joy. Hailing the very one you've condemned for generations. Have you no shame? What happened to the evil, ruthless sorceress from your fantasies? The cold-blooded tyrant that slaughtered countless men and destroyed many nations? Where is she now? She stands before your very eyes to become your new ruler. A new era has just begun. This is reality. No one can help you. Sit back and enjoy the show. Rest assured, you fools. Your time will come. This is only the beginning. Let us start a new reign of terror. I will let you live a fantasy beyond your imagination. Let us end this ceremony with a sacrifice."

Acting through the bodies of other sorceresses, Ultimecia is malevolent and manipulative and filled with anger and hate. Her background and motives are alluded to indirectly, the most significant being her inauguration speech in Deling City where she implies she had been persecuted due to being a sorceress, and the events surrounding the final battle. Ultimecia demonstrates a strategic and diplomatic mind, such as convincing the president of Galbadia to employ her as the nation's diplomat, as well as enticing Seifer Almasy, normally a hostile youth, to devote himself to her.
"...SeeD... SeeD......SeeD...... SeeD, SeeD, SeeD! Kurse all SeeDs. Swarming like lokusts akross generations. You disgust me. The world was on the brink of that ever-elusive 'time kompression'. Insolent fools! Your vain krusade ends here, SeeDs."
"Your vain krusade ends here, SeeDs. The price for your meddling is death beyond death. I shall send you to a dimension beyond your imagining. There, I will reign, and you will be my slaves for eternity. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Whom shall I exterminate first!? I'll start with you three!"

There are many parallels between Seifer and Squall. Even though they are rivals battling to prove their superiority, they have an unspoken respect for each other's prowess. Seifer is a loud and outspoken rebel, while Squall is a silent, strict rule follower. Both are nigh-equally skilled in using the gunblade, but Seifer's temper often leaves him losing to Squall. Seifer's friends, Raijin and Fujin, call themselves a "posse," whereas Squall is a loner. Although he is belligerent and rude with delusions of grandeur, Seifer is troubled rather than evil.
"The way I see it, as long as you come out of the battle alive, you're one step closer to your dream."
(irritated) "This is great... I have a Chicken-wuss and a guy who just reached puberty in my squad..."
"I love battles. I fear nothing. The way I look at it, as long as you make it out of a battle alive, you're one step closer to fulfilling your dream."

Quistis is known as a child prodigy around Balamb Garden. At the age of 15 she became a SeeD, and now at 18 is the youngest instructor in the Garden. She is less strict than the other instructors, leading some of her students to not take her seriously and to treat her with disrespect. Quistis tries to maintain her calm and due to her quiet assertiveness, stoic nature, and restraint, she mulls over her worries alone, kept at a distance from her pupils by her rank. Quistis would love to develop a more personal relationship with the people around her.
(trying to lighten the mood) "You know, the boys often choke on this test when I come with them. I guess my charm makes them nervous..."
"Well, Zell was riding his T-Board in the hallways of Garden. He made a sharp turn and went straight into the woman's res.. "
"Even after becoming an instructor, I couldn't stop thinking about Squall. I thought it was...love. I had to hide my feelings because I was an instructor, but I've come to realize it wasn't. It was my childhood feelings as a big sister that lingered... Oh well..."

Zell is a consummate martial artist and his skills are unsurpassed in Garden. Zell never backs down from a challenge and stands up for what he believes is right. He is energetic, loud, overconfident in his abilities, but tends to not think things through and overreact to being teased. He attempts to befriend everyone he meets. He is often in trouble with either the disciplinary committee or the Garden Faculty for running through the halls, or riding T-Boards on Balamb Garden premises, but despite this, Zell is a model pupil with an interest in world events; when the party arrives at a new location, he will often offer a summary of the place's history.

Selphie is childish, upbeat, and hyperactive, always looking to have fun. She is a fan of combining words to form new ones. Selphie uses the expression "Booyaka!" on her website as a greeting. She wants to spread the lingo, but fails. In Japanese it is "Mamimumemo!"—which is the "M" row in the Japanese alphabet. Selphie is talented with computers and vehicles, and has many hobbies, ranging from running a website in the Balamb Garden intranet to heading the Garden Festival Committee to being obsessed with trains. Selphie has a dark sense of humor, sometimes displaying it in a way others are not comfortable with.
"...I... I did it, everyone...! I know the stage got destroyed, but I performed... My dream band... I was able to carry out my dream..."
"Squall! You big stud! This is all for you! Congratulations! Enjoy the show! Rinoa, don't let him get away!"

Irvine is a ladies' man who uses his loner sharpshooter persona to try to impress them. Irvine focuses his charms on Selphie Tilmitt, even helping her realize her dream of performing on-stage with a band to catch her attention. In Galbadia Garden Irvine is known for being the best marksman, to the point he's appointed as the SeeD's sharpshooter during an assassination mission. Despite his playful and suave persona, Irvine is not shallow; he has a sharp mind and cares deeply for the group's members
"Sharpshooters are loners by nature... We hone our instincts, pour our whole being in a single bullet. The pressure of the moment... An instant of tension... That's what... I have to face alone..."

Laguna is cheerful, generous and kindhearted. He is respected among his comrades, Kiros Seagill and Ward Zabac, although they scorn him at times for his impulsive attitude, but ultimately rely on him for guidance and direction. Laguna is courageous in the face of danger and especially when his friends are in trouble. When given time to think about the danger he is in, Laguna can become hesitant, but he is always willing to put his life on the line for the sake of justice.

"Darn it, did it again! Why don't I ever think things through before I answer?"

Kiros was the voice of reason in Laguna's group, always there to at least make an attempt in steering Laguna's AWOL behavior, he is nonetheless loyal to his friends and is always looking out for their well being.

Cid is a cheerful man full of hope, being the man who founded SeeD. He is caring and nurturing, wishing his SeeDs to think for themselves rather than become mindless machines. Cid can be disheartened at times, particularly when the Garden Faculty talk over him and order him about. When he doesn't know what to do, Cid prefers to hide from the situation.
"I don't want you all to become machines. I want you all to be able to think and act for yourselves."
"You will be proceeding to a real battlefield. Obviously, the battles are for real. Life and death, victory and defeat, honor and disgrace... Each of these go hand in hand. There's only one way or the other. How 'bout it? Are you still up for it?"

Ellone's dream is to have her family reunited, and she uses her unique powers to achieve this. When she discovers she cannot change the passage of time, she learns to accept the present. Despite being hunted her entire life for her unusual ability to send a human's consciousness back in time, Ellone maintains a childlike innocence about the world even as a young adult, and has matured into a beautiful lady.
"People say you can't change the past. But even still, if there's a possibility, it's worth a try, right?"

Fujin

Stoic and disciplined, Fujin is the most stringent to the disciplinary committee rules compared to her two partners, who either forget them (Raijin) or outright disobey and/or rebel against them (Seifer). When acting under authority of the committee, it is usually Fujin who cites the rules being broken, allowing her comrades to then pursue the students violating them. Fujin is devoted to her two friends and will go out of her way to help and/or support them, even if, at times, their respective behaviors frustrate her. Preferring efficiency, Fujin dislikes "small talk" and will cut her sentences down to the bare minimum needed to get a point across

Fujin tends to kick him when he talks out of line or does something stupid, which is often. Raijin is bumbling and depends on his friends for guidance on what they should do next. He is implied to be lazy, as when Seifer promotes him to captain, Raijin sneaks off to nap instead of taking care of the duties he was given. He is fond of insects, as he has checked out several books on the subject from the Balamb Garden library. He tends to add "ya know?"
"Hey, jus' like Fujin said, ya know!? We're with Seifer. Always have, always will.''
"She's right, ya know!? Let's go! [The battle starts.] See, just like I said, ya know?"
