"Leylines" - Fantasy/Horror Storyboard Project
Project Overview
"Leylines" is the working title of a personal fantasy/horror project I'm boarding! This project in particular is for a roughly 2 minute storyboard I'm making for my personal portfolio. I think having some skilled actors would really up the quality, so I'm looking for a couple of people interested in helping me out! I would love to keep in contact in the event that I need voice acting help for the characters again in the future, but that level of commitment is not necessary for this project if you're only interested in the one-off.
I'll be posting the final storyboard on my portfolio website as well as on my YouTube, so please make sure you're comfortable with that before you apply! If you'd prefer to stay anonymous that's also fine!

Lead role in this scene. As he's a black American character, I would like to give this role to a black actor! (That said, I won't be forcing anyone to show their face or "prove" their race to me. If you think you're a strong candidate for the character, you're welcome to audition regardless!)
Silas is a big brother figure to his peers who grew up in a more rural environment. He cares deeply for the well-beings of others, but sometimes gets stuck in this role and forgets to think outside of this box. In this scene, he's looking out for his close friend Terrance as a creature capable of mimicking their voices hunts them from the shadows of the tall grass behind a gas station.
Congratulations--you're going to be fighting off a vicious hyena-like creature trying to rip you limb from limb! This means you'll need to be comfortable grunting, growling, and shouting in pain into the mic. I know it can feel embarrassing, but please do your best!
You will also be playing the voice-mimic that imitates his voice to lure Terrance into the woods. This should only include a couple of lines asking "Where are you?" and the like.

"Hey Terry! You almost done in there? ... Yo, Terry, it's me!" (Calling from outside of the bathroom and receiving no answer.)
"What are you doing out here in the woods? Did you not think how strange it would be for me to be hanging out in the dark like that?" (Whispering urgently.)
"Fuck--Terrance! *Wordless shout of fear!*" (Terrified! Your best friend might be being mutilated!)
Terrance is a no-nonsense character known to take drastic gambles, but only at risk of her own safety. She cares about other people, but she's also an expert at staying in her own lane. She grew up in a large city. She has a connection to the patron deity of Luck, which gives her access to luck magic. In this scene, she realizes that she's been overusing her power over good fortune, and the universe is impacting her with bad luck to balance the scales. She blames herself for the misfortunes of everyone around her.
You will also be playing the voice-mimic that is luring Silas out into the woods using Terry's voice! Please be comfortable grunting and shouting into the mic. I know it can be embarrassing, but please do your best!

"*Distant scream of terror!* Silas! Help!" (This is the Mimic calling out to lure Silas into the woods.)
"How would I have known we were in the middle of the woods? I can't see!" (Whispering urgently with slightly increasing volume.)
"Luck magic isn't like other kinds of magic. It's like a scale, and when you put too much weight on one side, the universe inevitably balances it out." (Explaining how her magic works. She's annoyed at herself.)
