Project Overview
If you've heard of Let's read Homestuck, Let's read Undertale, or any of those, then get ready for the latest edition; Let's read Team Fortress 2!
Intro:
I've been wanting to dub the comics for a while now, as a fan of the game and series, it's a wild, unpredictable, looney toons sort of humor that has stood the test of time. Team Fortress 2, as a game, came out in 2007 and is still played today by many people but the lore and stories are so wonderfully bizarre that I wanted to bring the comics to life. I'm well acquainted with comic dub editing and casting.
The Comics:
There are 7 main comics as well as shorter comics that insert here and there for lore reasons. The videos, maps, events, and comics all tie in to each other one way or another. I'll need much of the main cast as well as various other characters that appear throughout the series.
The good thing is, once you are picked, I can send the lines right over to be recorded. Everyone will be credited and the video itself will be posted on Voxus's channel. https://www.youtube.com/@Voxus
Absolutely no AI will be used. Voxus and I have a very strict no-ai policy.
Slating/Recording:
There's no need to slate; you can have up to maxium 2 takes of each line, just choose your best. Merasmus can have echo filter but I'd prefer everyone else to be clean audio. No preference to xlr or usb mic as long as the audio is clean, good audio balance, and free of background noise.
Just make sure the files are "Your name_Character name". Either WAVS or MP3s are fine; mono, no stereo.
If you are reading this and don't have a casting call but would still like to audition, you can send links to my Bluesky or Twitter messages, both under the name "Tabikato".
You will not have to join a discord server for this. Once I choose someone, I will message for their discord name or email and we will work through there. Since this is an unpaid, fan project there won't be heavy directing; I will listen to the lines, if I feel something needs to be re-recorded, I will ask. If you wish to have a call, we can set up a time but I'm generally giving freedom of direction since there are many videos of the characters and voices. (And it's unpaid and for fun, we're all working adults).

Voice Actor
The Soldier is a crazed patriot from the midwest, USA, who portrays himself as a military man despite being rejected from the US Army. Not only rejected, Solider bought his own plane ticket to go fight in the war himself and that's how he learned how to fight/use weapons. Paranoid, and most likely lead poisoned, his role will be wildly between calm, confident speaking to random yelling and growling. (So take care of your throat for this one).
Mid-range gritty/growl type voice. Think of cartoonish version of a grizzled drill instructor.

Horrendously Bostonian, if you know, you know. Born and raised in Boston, MA, the Scout is a fast-running scrapper with a baseball bat and a snarky, in-your-face attitude. This guy will invite you to the game, call you a moron, fight you, and say to tell your mother he said hello. Scout is over-confident, a fast-talker, but can be sensitive as well. Plenty of screaming too.
Mid-range smooth voice. He's 27 canonically.

The Heavy, short for Heavy Weapons Guy, is a towering hulk of a man hailing from the USSR. In the comics, he comes off as more of a stoic, quiet beast of a man rather than the loud, brash one in the videos. However, both is his personality as he is a man of bloodlust as well as intellect.

The Engineer, commonly shortened to Engi, Engie, or Engy, is a soft-spoken, amiable Texan with an interest in all mechanical things. He has 11 p.h.ds in hard sciences and an interest in philosophy. He can get just as mean as the rest of the team but it'll sound cold and dangerous rather than yelling. Though he'll definitely throw a "yee-haw" around. Think a cowboy with degrees instead of cattle.
Between mid and deep with a level of grit. Texan accent.

The Demoman is a self-described black Scottish cyclops and a scrumpy-swilling demolitions expert from Scotland. His personality ranges from being one of the more level-headed ones when sober to an angry, wild, unpredictable barrage on the battlefield. He can be friendly but at the same time laugh when he blows someone sky high. He can also scream quite a bit.

Raised in the Outback of Australia, the Sniper is the team's quiet and sometimes loner sharp-shooter. He fancies himself a professional and tries to live by that creed, though he loses his temper and acts goofy just as much as the rest of them. Technically from New Zealand but he was adopted by Australian parents when he was a baby.
Him and Scout are the only ones with canonical ages, he is 30 years old.

Hailing from an indeterminate region of France, the Spy is known for his enthusiasm for sharp suits and even sharper knives. In the comics, he is portrayed as more serious and calm unlike the game where he's probably one of the worst with his insults and temper. A professional that has a word or a tool to escape from any situation, he's often portrayed as the de-facto leader of the group.

The Medic is a German man of questionable medical practices. Honestly, he is probably the scariest one on the team as not only does he hold the very lives of his team in his hands, he often experiments on them happily with a smile. Medic, for the most part, sounds cheerful and rather warm even when what he is saying is completely out of the left field. Mad scientist German doctor type. There are times when he uses German words so either already knowing them (or knowing German) or willing to learn the words is best.
His voice is mid, higher mid with a German accent.

Saxton Hale is a daring Australian, former President and CEO of Mann Co.. He is considered the fourth richest man in the USA. He was the sixth richest man in the US, but surpassed the fifth by wealth and the fourth by killing him in a harpoon duel. His favorite pastimes include fighting, drinking, and battling with ferocious animals. In fact, most kids sleep with a teddy bear at night, but Saxton Hale sleeps with an actual bear that he tamed while in the Brazilian Jungles. His identifying features include a bold mustache, rippling muscles, a crocodile-tooth lined hat, and a patch of rotating chest hair shaped like Australia. He also refuses to wear clothes on his upper body "for obvious reasons".

Gray Mann is the third son of Zepheniah Mann. The smallest of the three Mann brothers, Gray was also the most intelligent of the three. He could speak perfectly by the time he was born, but was the weakest physically. Disgusted by how he could talk, Zepheniah Mann was going to smother Gray, but before his father could do so, Gray was abducted by a wild eagle; the event taking place during the "Great Eagle Scourge of 1822". The eagle took Gray away from his family, and raised as one of its own. After being raised by his eagle abductor, Gray killed and ate her and her children before crawling back to civilization to build his corporate empire, Gray Gravel Company.
There are voice lines for Gray Mann, Matthew Simmons did a wonderful job, but I felt the accent could be different. Since the Mann family were rich Americans from the 1800s, I'd see them having a much more Colonial or Transatlantic accent. However, you can still audition without those accents if you feel you have a great voice for him!

Margret, also nicknamed Mags and Maggie, is the ex-girlfriend of Saxton Hale. The two used to fight exotic animals together while both holding Charles Darling as their nemesis. Maggie broke up with Hale after he became CEO of Mann co After the break up, Mags had married four men, whom had all died while on her extreme adventures. When Gray Mann took over Mann Co., Maggie, now an employee of Darling, helps Hale ask him for help in winning back the company.
She has no official voice so as long as you can do an Australian accent, you're good!

Merasmus the Magician, or simply Merasmus is an important character in the Team Fortress 2 storyline. Merasmus has several appearances or references in the comics and game maps.
In the Team Fortress 2 Storyline, Merasmus has a connection with Demoman in the origin of MONOCULUS; however, he most often appears as Soldier's long suffering former roommate. He is very much an over the top evil wizard trope with dramatic flair.
Since he has a filter on his voice, you can either recreate this yourself or audition with raw lines.

One of the antagonist for the comic series, this is the Heavy Weapons guy from the Team Fortress Classic (one) group, though older and much angier/violent. He will stop at nothing to get what he wants and will go through anyone to do it.
