LET'S DUB: Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (Recasting)
Project Overview
Hello, everybody. This casting call is to recast several roles for my Let's Dub of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance.
What's a Let's Dub, you ask? Well, it's what you get when you take out the unimportant or otherwise boring parts of gameplay (long pauses in strategy, unnecessary math, etc.) and edit together the good parts into a movie-esque YouTube thingy. Story and voice acting included.
For those of you who don't know, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance is the ninth game in the Fire Emblem series, a bunch of turn-based strategy RPGs in fantasy settings. This game takes place in the land of Tellius, which is populated by beorc (humans) and laguz (humanoids who can change into animals and back again). One day, the beorc nation Daein attacks neighboring Crimea, killing off most of the royal family and causing the survivors to flee. Among the major players are the Greil Mercenaries, featuring a swordsman named Ike, who will one day rise up and lead the effort to retake Crimea from Daein.
That's where you people come in. I'll record the gameplay, and if you're selected for the roles you audition for, you'll dub for the characters you play. Feel free to ad lib battle efforts as well. Attack grunts, pain grunts, mid-fight skill activation banter, death cries, etc. Apart from minor characters, like bosses, the roles listed are in the order that they appear in-game. As for voice references, you don't have to match the voices exactly; what's more important is your ability to act overall. Also, if selected, you'll be invited to a small Discord server related to the project, so please include your Discord handle in your audition notes. That way, if I cast you, I can notify you and let you in.
There will also be custom background music edited in.
When auditioning, please consider the following:
- Respect: Please show respect towards the directors and the other cast members. We will not tolerate rude behavior.
- Mic Quality: Please do not have any white noise, background sounds, etc…
- Acting: Please show emotion in your auditions. Acting is very important to bring a character to life.
- Have Fun! This project was designed to help expand actor’s horizons and also for them to have fun.

First appearance: Chapter 2
The youngest brother between himself, Boyd, and Oscar as well as the youngest member of the Greil Mercenaries. He has no apparent combat experience at this point but gets a chance to prove his worth later.
He's quite the crybaby at first glance, a fact that he constantly seeks to disprove but often lacks the confidence to do so. Nonetheless, he has a warm heart and will support those he thinks are in need however he can.
Voice reference: Aang (Zach Tyler Eisen)
But…I’m so scared…Aren’t you even a bit scared, Mist?
Hey! I'm not small! I'm a dangerous mercenary!
Leave it to us, Ike! We’ll just pretend it’s a game of hide-and-seek. And I never lose at hide-and-seek!
First appearance: Chapter 3
Marcia is a pegasus knight searching for her guppy-brained lout of an older brother, which often lands her in mortal danger.
She's a cheerful, eager person but often shows extreme fits of rage towards enemy and family alike, specifically to her aforementioned brother. Despite dreading the strictness of her commanding officer, she executes her duties as a pegasus knight proficiently, like packing.
Voice reference: Lina Inverse (Lisa Ortiz)
Name pronunciation: MAR-schuh
Hey! You! Boat monkey! You tricked me, didn’t you?
You said you knew the whereabouts of my older brother. That’s why I came all the way to your ship.
Ike! Got it! And I am Marcia, a pegasus knight of Begnion. Don’t forget me! All right, I’ll be seeing you later!
First appearance: Chapter 4
Soren is the Greil Mercenaries' resident tactician and a powerful mage, specializing in wind magic.
He's typically rude and cold to others, preferring to be alone whenever possible. He acts with logic and has a pessimistic view of the world, putting others' feelings aside if it means benefitting the company he calls home. Nonetheless, the Greil Mercenaries value his tactics and are happy to have him around.
Voice reference: Himself (Kyle McCarley)
Bad news. Something big is happening, and we need to formulate a plan of action.
Valor and courage are for children’s tales. In terms of military prowess, Daein’s King Ashnard is every bit Lord Renning’s equal. Victory will hinge on troop numbers and supplies, and Daein is superior in both. I think the outcome is painfully obvious.
You forced this combat. We cannot allow you to return home. Are you ready to die?
First appearance: Chapter 5
Petrine is one of the current Four Riders of Daein, said to wield a Flame Lance of terrible arcane might.
She's a hotheaded, strong-willed woman who doesn't tolerate failure whatsoever. She makes sure that everyone around her is right to fear her, even though she herself is terrified of the king of Daein himself.
Voice reference: Herself (Elizabeth Maxwell)
Name pronunciation: peh-TREEN
What? What did you just say? I think I must be hearing things. I thought you said, “They got away.”
Me? I am General Petrine, and my arrival marks your doom. Lament your fortune, dear children, for all hope is lost. You will not leave this place alive.
Dog’s breath! I’m surrounded by worthless imbeciles.
First appearance: Chapter 7
Mia is a sellsword hired to bolster the Crimean army's numbers, but she ends up joining Ike and co. while they try to retrieve Greil.
She's an energetic and quirky person who's always eager for a fight, looking to prove her mettle whenever possible. Despite her eccentricities, she's also willing to help those in need.
Voice reference: Seong Mi-na (Erica Mendez)
I’m Mia. I’m a mercenary, hired by Crimea to bolster the army’s numbers.
Huh…You’re taking on a whole Daein battalion with these numbers? Nice. That settles it then!
We’ll worry about the details later! Great, so that’s all taken care of. What next, boss man?
First appearance: Chapter 10
Volke is a thief hired by Greil to investigate something. Whatever it is, he won't tell anyone unless they pay him well.
He's a secretive, tight-lipped man who will do any job he's assigned as long as he's paid well. He prefers solitude whenever possible, though he does have a few visible loyalties, such as to Greil—and therefore, Ike.
Voice reference: Wolverine (Steve Blum)
Name pronunciation: VOHL-kuh
Call me Volke. Sir Greil hired me. I'm in...intelligence.
You are Sir Greil's son, correct? You'll do. Sir Greil hired me to investigate something. You pay my price, and I'll give you my report. Deal?
As long as I get paid, I've got no complaint.
First appearance: Chapter 13
Sigrun is the commander of Begnion's Holy Guard and a devotee to the empress.
Unlike Tanith, she's a kind and compassionate person, and is thus well-loved by her subordinates. Although of noble birth, she considers beorc and laguz equal and laments that prejudice still exists in the land of the goddess.
Voice reference: Zoot (Carol Cleveland)
Name pronunciation: sih-GROON
Finally! There they are! I hope we'll find Empress Sanaki...safe and sound...Ladies, chaaaarge! Show them what we've got!!
I beg your pardon. Are you and your mercenary company enjoying your stay here in Begnion? Is there anything you find wanting?
Every precious life was created to be equal by the blessed goddess. The fact that there are still those who persecute laguz in the land of the goddess... It is deplorable.
First appearance: Chapter 21
Tauroneo is a decorated soldier and former Rider of Daein.
He's a noble, valiant soldier who values his convictions over loyalty to his country, though he often finds himself caught in dilemmas regarding country politics.
Voice reference: James Bond (Sean Connery)
Name pronunciation: TOH-roh-NAY-oh
I am Tauroneo, a general of Daein. Young general of Crimea, I have but one question to ask you. Your swordsmanship is familiar... Who taught you to fight in this way?
In that case, I will not fight you. The world must not lose Gawain's style of swordsmanship. I surrender. You may lock me away or execute me or what you will. I care not.
You would take a former Daein general? I cannot. You fellow Crimeans would resist. They would never accept it.
This project will require a team of audio engineers to edit and arrange voice clips and battle efforts.
