Last Requiem: Casting Test

Project Overview

LAST REQUIEM is a set piece placed in the past, an altered universe where the conflict between Japan and The United States of America had lead to Nuclear Warfare, leaving the world in a state of lawless chaos. In this world, there are only two things keeping and trying to rebuild, the M.R.R. (Marina Rebuilding Republic) and criminal gangs like the White Coats, The Industry, The Del'a Roses, The Height Gang, and more.

This casting post is for the pre-emptive testing of character voices, there are no guarantees of on the spot casting, as payment more than likely will be offered during the finalisation of this series, this is more of a testing, scouting actors to hopefully know who we can cast down the line.

This is a long term project, and if you are given a call back later on, you'll be agreeing to a monthly commitment, as these episodes will be monthly, if this is a problem, then know this information now, as there will be no substitutions or exceptions to this rule.

Requirements are: A good quality microphone, a flexible enough time schedule for a script read a few times every fortnight, a credit name for the introduction, (social media handle, or a real name.) And PayPal account, this is the only digital payment application that will be accepted. And becoming our best buds!

Michael Fererra - The Warden

This guy is the main antagonist for season one and most of season two. He's course, and determined to capture Jay White, criminal Kingpin in Saint Marina. What makes him a bad guy in this story is his bloodlust and willingness to discard anyone who deems complacent. He has earned the name Warden due to his sick and twisted acclivity to kidnap and torture those he deems to be a detriment to his perfect rebuilding.

His voice can be around the medium, to deep range. I don't really have a preference, I just need something that can encapsulate this man's cold and calculated nature. A man trying his best to be the hero, but there's something dark underneath. Reference to Anthony Starr as Homelander, or Lance Henriksen as General Shepherd. Something that doesn't necessarily sound evil by nature, but still has that undertone of darkness to it. A leadership tone, something that would make you want to join his side.

  • “Order and control went out the window when the bombs fell, and then? The rats didn't need to hide anymore, they were given freedoms and a world without consequence. Well, not anymore. Those pieces of filth, they hide and cower away because they know we will be there to punish them, to become their retribution. We can be the hope to those innocents, and to the guilty? Their consequence.” Manipulative, he doesn't truly believe in his preaching, but he wants his followers to believe him.

  • “I WILL KILL ANY FUCKER WHO GETS IN MY WAY! THIS AIN'T YOUR WORLD ANYMORE, IT'S MINE!” Rage filled, he's finally broken, and now he doesn't care who gets in his way.

Promise is less of an antagonist, and more of a full fledged hedonist. She's willing to betray anyone as long as it means she gets to preserve herself, she believes that survival is all that matters.

She's roughly in her late twenties, and is a bit of a sociopath, she feels things for certain people, but it's rare to see her express any sort of sentiment. She is present for a large majority of season one and two.

  • "If I cared about every starving family with a sob story, I wouldn't be that good at my job, would I? Listen, we can sit here all day lamenting about those that have fallen, but the only thing that's good for is adding more dead soldiers to the list." - Careless, probably just partook in the murder of a strayed family.

  • "In life, there's bad men, and then there's good men. People like confusing the two, acting like bad men can be good, and good men can be bad. I like to think of it like a salad, I've seen saints who have turned to murder, and rape. And criminals who turn to helping cancer-stricken children, morality is just a choice." - She's explaining her ideology in the best way she knows how, contemplative.

Jillian Kane is a main supporting character, just like her husband in the story, Jay White. She's seen to be this intelligent, yet unaware woman. She is sheltered from the ways of this new world, but isn't without her psychotic naclivities. She's a tad bit inspired by the mother from Blood On The Tracks, a kinder counterpart in a world of malignancy and hate, but there's something truly frightening about her.

  • "I do hope my husband wasn't too ill mannered, he has to put on a performance sometimes in order to get people in line, but he means no harm if you wish to help. I'm Jillian Kane, I may not partake in Jay's bloody affairs, but I can fix up a wound, or make you something nice to eat." - Caring, and motherly, she's uncanny when comparing her to the other sociopaths in this world.

  • "Everyone knows who Jay is, and no one knows who I am. That's my use. When people see Jay, they see the Kingpin killer, some Devil on Earth. When they see me? They said someone who doesn't belong, who's out of place. Someone who you could make you a drink, and you would never know if it had poison in it. That's what makes me useful."
