Left 4 Dead Presents: The Sacrifice [Comic Dub]
Project Overview
This is a passion project I've been wanting to do for a while. Left 4 Dead is one of my all time favorite games and was psyched when they released this comic as a sort of "countdown" to the DLC.
Left 4 Dead Presents: The Sacrifice is a four part comic series that follows the four survivors of the game as they got evacuated from the final main campaign's finale as well as their lives just as the Green Flu outbreak was starting.
A WARNING: If you haven't played the game but want to not be spoiled on the story that does exist within this world, I would highly recommend a playthrough before auditioning (or line recordings if selected). This is not a requirement.
RULES:
18+ Please
Decent microphone, little-to-no background noise
Must have a Discord
Important note about the roles: These characters cuss and actively participate in high levels of violence (it's a zombie game, gonna have to be the case) so be aware of that if you are uncomfortable with those sorts of things. ALSO, we are NOT looking for perfect impressions, we want voice over performances that help bring these characters to life and off of the pages. All other smaller roles will be either filled after or done by selected cast.
[Recurring character] The 60-something year old Vietnam vet. The unofficial leader of the group, he is driven to see his fellow survivors get somewhere safe, and see peace on Earth again, even if he has to use his bare hands.

Let's *move*! I leave you ladies for five goddamn minutes and you forget how to run to a rescue vehicle!
"Jeff", was it? Jeff, the four of us walked here from Philadelphia. I think we can make it across a courtyard.
Son, we just crossed the street. [Takes a quick draw from cigarette] Let's not throw a party 'til we're outta the city.
[Recurring character] College drop out, horror movie fanatic, and youngest member of the survivors. One should not underestimate Zoey, however. Her scary movie knowledge and gun fighting know-how she picked up from her dad make her a force to be reckoned with.

Well, it's about fucking time... [Yelling] Guys! Rescue's here!
Dude, help me out here! How can you *not* be interested in this?
Let me help you. You should be okay for a little bit, but we need to find you some first aid. Because if you go down like this again, that's it for you.
[Recurring character] Formerly a Junior Systems Analyst in his company's IT department, Louis is the upbeat and positive glue that holds the survivors together. Don't let his previous job title and almost exaggerated positivity fool you; this man knows how to handle himself in a fight.

[As a voicemail intro] Hi! You've reached Louis in I.T.! I'm not at my desk right now, but I want you to know everything's gonna be *just* fine. Leave your name, extension, and the nature of your PC emergency after the beep... and I promise I'll get life back to normal for you real soon.
We've got about twenty seconds to get armed and get outta here before-- [hears something coming] ohhh, shit.
Guys at the office used to laugh at me when I hit the rifle range at lunch. Ain't so damn funny now, is it?
[In Parts 1, 2, & 3] A military man who believes anyone outside of the fort is dangerous, and that his CO is out of his mind. This is a man who will see to anything that the mission is successful, and that mission is survive.

Haven, we have four tango mikes for the doc. This is Captain Mora. Is the Major there? [waits for response] Haven, please advise the Major I need to debrief him *directly*.
*Major Everly. Sir.* With all due respect, this base is no longer *secure*. Echo base to the north is *equipped* for a sustained assault.
Round up Pena, Brooks and Davis. My quarters. 1400. I have one duty: to the men who've put their lives in my care.
[In Parts 2 & 3] Commanding officer of the military base. Very stern, very bull-headed. Believes that the Chain of Command still exists within the apocalypse and that it needs to be followed to the end.

Lt. Mora, your gift for fiction amazes me. It goes on. *Giant* whiskey deltas. *Exploding* whiskey deltas.
If I didn't know any better, I would say your report was *tailor made* to foster dissention in my ranks.
Let me be clear. There is *still* a Chain of Command. I *still* have a job to do. And I ented to *get that job done*.
[In Parts 2 & 3] The doctor of the military base. Is tasked with checking on the survivors... and seeing about finding a cure for the Green Flu.

You might have killed him. [Yelling] Rivera's down!
Yes. And before you get indignant, I'd remind you the Army *had* other options. This was the *humane* one.
They haven't killed you yet because of me. They haven't killed me yet because they want their cure.
[In Parts 2 & 3] One of the soldiers at the military base.

You've been out there for two weeks, right? [Waits for response] Have the whiskey deltas been... *changing*?
I'm just curious. Are there any of these things we *can* shoot?

You're trying to get me angry so we'll come in there, and you can overpower us and escape, aren't you?
Alright, zombie experts... there's an armory down the hall. Let's get you guys some *guns*.
[Terrified and fighting] Oh shit oh shit what do we do
[In Part 1] Co-worker and friend of Louis. He's skepitcal about how safe it is to go into work with the Green Flu starting to make a lot of people sick.
-Note: Please read lines as if on the phone. ABCABC style if doing multiple takes.
Yeah, no, Lou. I'm calling in *well*. And I'm planning to stay that way.
Lou, look, no offense. Normally I love your "glass half full," attitude. It's got us through some rough times, alright?
But this time, I swear to God, the glass is *definitely one hundred percent half-empty*. And the other half is... I dunno, full of piss.
[In Part 2] Zoey's father. Part of the police force, and the reason why Zoey is obsessed with horror films. Believes that his daughter should join him as an officer.

*Oh, that's* right, Carolyn. *You and Kevin* live in *my* house.
Well, film degree was a gamble. We knew that goin' in. Now she can join the force like her old man.
[In pain] NN! Remember those zombie movies I used to sneak you into when you were a kid, Zoey? [Waits for response] You remember the part in all of 'em when they had to shoot the one guy before he turned?
[In Part 2] Zoey's mother. Likely divorced her former husband. She is pretty bitter about Zoey dropping out of college, and blames him.

I let her live with you for a semester, Wade. A *semester* and she's dropping out.
Regardless. We sent you to Aldrich to learn how to *make* films. Not... *watch* them in your father's apartment all day. Zombies and vampires and... It's trash, honey.
My daughter's no getting shot at by cokeheads just to keep the family business alive.
