Project Overview

   “I was but a boy when I first gazed upon the Knight of the Void. I remember the day as if it was only a moon ago… Their eyes behind their helm, which adorned the text of Oblivion, were non-existent… From their back, they retrieved something covered in cloth soaked in blood. While before each of their movements was slow and steady, now they tossed the ball-shaped package to the Jarl’s feet. As it tumbled and rolled onto the wooden floor the cloth snagged on it and unraveled with each rotation. By the time the ball had stopped right in front of the throne, its content revealed the head of a nearby bandit chief... After receiving their bounty, the figure simply turned and left… Now, as a man growing his greys, I wonder where this Knight of the Void rests. I wonder what they truly are. Man? Daedra? Something else entirely? What is it they seek, or is it simply gold they cherish? If the Knight of the Void ever reads this, I wish them to know the power they possess.”


   The Knight of the Void is a custom voice follower mod for The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. She was made with a desire to have a follower for a more grimdark, somber, and quiet playthrough. I love making talkative followers, but it ruins the vibe when they spout a funny joke as we’re standing next to a tree of hanged men.

   The Knight of the Void starts off as a mysterious mercenary the player discovers and hires for their travels. But as they get to know the Knight more, they learn of my tragic past rooted in worship of Aedra and cursed by the Daedra which lead her to the path she is on today.

   At the moment, she has a little less than 400 lines already implemented. But aside from a few stories I would like for her to tell the player, that’s all I plan to have in her mod for the base release. Because of this, the line estimate will be about 450 lines. And then after the mod is out I would love to make a patch for the mod Alternate Skyrim, which probably won’t have too many lines. At the very, huge estimate most, of 100. 

   In the far future, I would love to make a questline for her, which would require more lines. This will be a far-future thing, and mainly just making a note that I will need someone who won’t mind returning to the project for this. 


   For the role of the Knight, I am looking for someone with a soft-spoken and gentle voice. This is a character who has gone through horrific heartache and almost has become numb in her voice because of it. Her voice though should be able to convey various emotions through faint pauses, tone shifts, ect. (A huge inspiration for this mod is Elden Ring, and most specifically, Melina.) While I would love a voice similar to hers, I’m very open to other interpretations and voices! 

   

Extra Things I’m looking for in auditions:

  • Clear recordings, little to no background noises.
  • Wide range of emotions.
  • Have discord. This is how I will get ahold of you on lines and such. 
  • Please be over 18. This project deals with adult topics. However, nothing explicit is ever said. 
  • Get lines in an appropriate amount of time. I’m hoping for these auditions to be open for a while so I can get other projects of mine done, but once someone is picked I would love to get the ball rolling to get this mod out quickly. Mainly, if we could get the lines done in a month or two, that would be awesome!

    There is a new female role added for this project. It's a small role for the moment, but may grow into a much larger one in future updates.

  • More lines and New Characters

    Hey everyone! You all sound absolutley amazing so far! I wanted to give a small update on things as I've been writing more for the Knight. This writing has led me to wanting to do a lot more future stuff with her. Because of this, I'm unsure really what the line count will be anymore. However, I'm always open to letting these lines be done in small bunches to work with both our schedules. That being said, if you were hoping for a small role and rather not do a big project like this, let me know so I can either make note of it when picking out for the role or can delete the audition. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I can promise the additions to the Knight will be amazing!

    On top of this, in the coming days I'm hoping to add two more characters to the audition page for three minor roles in a smaller quest for the Knight. (Two male and one female. One of these minor roles though I would love to return in the future.) I will make another update once these roles are released! Once again, beautiful job everyone!

For the role of the Knight, I am looking for someone with a soft-spoken and gentle voice, yet hardened by years of torment. This is a character who has gone through horrific heartache and almost has become numb/monotone in her voice because of it. Her voice though should be able to convey various emotions ever so faintly. (A huge inspiration for this mod is Elden Ring, and most specifically, Melina in her voice.) While I would love a voice similar to hers, I’m very open to other interpretations and voices! (I'm also open to a wide of accents. This includes American, English, and French. the Knight is a Breton.) Feel free to do multiple takes!

  • (Upon meeting the player for the first time.) Why has thou sought me out? There is little to learn here. Little I am willing to teach. And now that I have been found, will thee be upon thy way?

  • (When visiting the temple of Mara she will comment on it before trying to pray to Mara.) A temple of Mara… For long have I avoided this place. Perhaps thou knew I needed to come here…Mother Mara, does thou hear me? Does thou remember me? I have been avoiding thee when so long I sought thou council. Look upon me, Mother. Remember the daughter you spoke to so often, so long ago. Thou called to me from the clutches of Oblivion. A shined thy light to find my way home. Please… Let me know I reach thee.

  • (During her romance she will bring up why she doesn't find herself pretty; inside and out.) Look at me, and remember all that I’ve done. These past centuries have turned me into a monster, inside and out. A heart blacked by the carnage of Oblivion. A face so gaunt man would see it as nothing more than daedric. I’ve learned my new worth, and there is none Mara could look upon.

A mysterious voice that speaks to the player. She plays a small role in the base mod, but if I go forward with making a bigger questline for this follower then she will be a main part. Because of that, I need someone who doesn't mind returning for this role. This voice should be gentle, kind, and soothing. A motherly sort of voice that is spoken in almost a whisper. (I may message you to get extra takes to make sure you'll be the perfect fit as some lines I don't really wish to be public.)
