KENGAN ASHURA MANGA FANDUB (ROUND 1)!

Project Overview

Hey everyone!  If you've come to my page hopefully you're a big time fan of the manga by Yabako Sandrovich and Daromeon, 'Kengan Ashura'!  And even if you're not, that's fine too, all I ask is that you bring a lot of enthusiasm to this action packed story,  because there's going to be a lot of kicking, screaming, punching, and tearful monologues to be had along the way!  Now this is my first project on Casting Call Club but I promise I'm going to try my best to give every single member of the cast, writing, and editing team a wonderful experience during the process.  
Now the moment you've all been waiting for, the REQUIREMENTS:
1. PLEASE HAVE A DECENT MIC! I completely understand that certain financial situations prevent some from having quality microphones, but I do require that any of the voice actors on this project have microphones with very little to no background noise and do not peak easily, as there will be a lot of screaming.
2. BE ABLE TO SCREAM AND SHOUT!  Kengan Ashura is above all a fighting manga, so there is going to be a lot of screaming, shouting, grunting, and over all angry and powerful lines, so be ready to scream your heart out in the auditions!  

3.  PLEASE SUBMIT AT LEAST 3 TAKES PER LINE!  Show off for me please!  I want to see your guys's range and the personalities you can breathe into these characters so at least 3 takes is all I ask to get a good feel of your voice for the character!  

4. HAVE DISCORD OR TWITTER, I need some form of communication to contact you guys on and these will be the most simple!  So if you are to be selected I need these social media links to be active and ready!  

5. BE ABLE TO WAIT FOR YOUR TIME TO SHINE!  There is going to be a lot of roles for this dub and some will not have speaking roles right away!  So for those who have to take a back seat until their time comes please be patient!  I promise you will get a chance to fight!

    Thank you so much for everyone who auditioned for this project, I really didn't expect to hear so many talented individuals coming into this page, but I'm thankful nonetheless because of your enthusiasm to join this fandub. It's been a hard process deciding on who to cast but I felt like each role should go to those who truly fit my vision on what the characters would sound like. So to those who are cast, I welcome you with open arms to the project and hope to make some amazing content with you, and to those who didn't make the cut this time, have no worries as more casting pages will be made in the near future with even more roles.     Hey everyone! Hope you're all having a wonderful holiday break right now, as for me, things are good and the project is still live and running! I'm going to be giving everyone a well deserved christmas vacation, but afterwards, I will be making my selection of the main cast early into the new year! Get excited guys, because sometime soon in 2020 the kengan ashura manga fandub will be complete!

Our main character, Tokita Ohma, is the fighter for Yamashita Trading Company and the first challenger we see in Kengan Ashura!  Ohma is a man surrounded by mystery, but one thing that's known for sure about him is that he loves fighting.  He claims to be the strongest, and won't stop until he has proven that to all the 'weaklings' in the world.  Ohma is the wielder of the Niko style, a point of content in his life and his past, which we'll discover more as the series goes on, although we won't be diving that much into it during round 1 of casting.  For now though, just go ahead and give me your best, cockiest, most badass voice for this character!  I feel those words describe perfectly who Ohma is, and per my request just be sure to throw one awesome punch!  

  • "Yamashitakazuo... right...?  Got it.  ...So?  You wanna fight, too?"  

  • "You're STRONGER than ME?  Why don't you quit talking shit and come at me, ya big fat bastard?"  

  • *Give me your best punches and grunts, pretend you're in an actual fight and give me your all!*

Yamashita Kazuo

Say hi to our deurotagonist, Yamashita Kazuo!  Kazuo is a meek, middle-aged man who feels like he's been a push over his entire life.  He has viewed himself as weak his entire life, until the fateful day he encountered Tokita Ohma, in which he was re-energized, believing again that he could be strong with the inspiration from Ohma.  Kazuo isn't a fighter, but he'll be an important character and ally to Ohma throughout the series, constantly giving his support and helpful observations of the fights as they go on.  Kazuo is just as important as Ohma in the story, so I'll need someone who can commit to this character and will be able to deliver heavy emotional lines of dialogue as it progresses.  Good luck!

Nogi Hideki

This character is Nogi Hideki, the CEO of Nogi Group.  A very powerful man, he relishes in conflict and uses it to further his own goals of becoming the new chairman of the Kengan Association.  While he appears at times jovial with Yamashita, he always has an ulterior motive, and will commonly screw certain characters over to get ahead.  Think of the stereotypical businessman and apply that voice to Nogi.  

  • "'Conflict'.  What do you think the best method to resolving 'conflict' is?"

  • "To put it very simply, there are countless methods... arbitration, negotiation, persuasion, but what's particularly effective is... VIOLENCE."

  • "In order to settle their conflicts, they would entrust their desires to the fists of fighters.  THE KENGAN MATCHES!!!"

This is Akiyama Kaede, secretary to Mr. Nogi and later Kazuo.  Her character can be described as strong-willed for sure, as she doesn't take much slack at all from any one surrounding her, and is at many times much more competent than her 'boss' Kazuo, and thousands of times more knowledgeable of the Kengan matches and their procedures.  For Akiyama I'd like a cool, slightly bossy voice.  

  • "So I'll have you uphold your 'responsibility!'  You'll have to protect me until you win the preliminaries."

This is the 2nd fighter of the Kengan matches we come across, Lihito!  Lihito is a dangerous fighter who's specialty is the 'razor's edge' a move in which he cuts flesh with his bare finger tips!  It's a deadly technique, and gives Ohma quite the trouble in their first bout!  But none to worry, as Lihito will return in future fights as well!  For Lihito I'd like a menacing voice that can change to a well meaning meathead at a moment's whim, because that's honestly Lihito's character to a T.  During fights he takes joy in showing off his super-human capabilities, but he also cares deeply about his friends and his rival Ohma, and enjoys messing around with them between matches.  So basically give me a lovable goofball with a dangerous fighting side to him, good luck!  

  • "Lihito.  I call myself 'Lihito', the man that 'surpasses human reason'... you get the pun there?"

Yoshitake is the president of the Yoshitake Real Estate company and employer of Lihito.  Yoshitake is a very effeminate man, and thus the voice I envisioned for him would be one that is quite high and flamboyant, but full of energy.  Because when Yoshitake is emotional it certainly shows, and I need a voice that can really show off that range of emotions that he goes through on a whim.  

  • "I'm counting on you Lihito, show that brat the difference between you and that fool Ivan."

Wakatsuki Takeshi

Wakatsuki is a powerful fighter in the Kengan matches fighting under Furumi Pharmaceuticals.  Born with 'superman syndrome', he was born with an abnormally muscular body, and has thus dedicated his entire life to improving it, mastering various forms of martial arts to further the training of his daunting physique.  He has a personal grudge with the 'Fang of Metsudo', the strongest fighter in the Kengan association and has prepared a specific technique designed to destroy him in the upcoming Annihilation tournament.  Wakatsuki is a strong, silent type of character.  He doesn't say much but when he fights he's like an uncaged animal.  He swings with immense ferocity, and he is absolutely determined to come out of every battle as the victor, no matter what.  For this character please give me a strong, deep voice that can be soft but powerful and commanding when needed.  

  • "I just can't get used to it, no matter how many fights I've done.  Every time I go into a match, I want to run away from the pressure."

Jun is the SUPER PRO-WRESTLER of the Kengan matches.  He is the affiliated fighter of Gandai Motors and absolutely LOVES the thrill of the ring.  As a pro-wrestler, Jun takes his role very seriously, and believes that every match should be a source of entertainment for the watchers, and he'll do anything he can to make a good show for the spectators.  Jun believes in the code of pro-wrestlers wholeheartedly, and will never block or guard from any attack, and receive all damage head on.  He's a manly man, and as such I want a good wrestler's voice for him, nothing Hulk Hogan or Randy Savage, so try and put your own spin on it, but just remember above all else that Jun is an actor, and as such he's going to have a good range of emotions and will be able to go from cocky bastard to delivering the final blow in moments.  This character is a personal favorite of mine so please, try your best to bring him to life!

Kaburagi Koji

Kaburagi is the fighter Koyama Mart incorporated, and is probably the most disgusting character in Kengan.  He's a vile, grotesque man that resorts to cheap tricks and weaponry to win the Kengan matches, such as bombs and poisons.  He's very sweaty and overweight, and sadistic, so I'd like to see a voice that reflects both.  Think of a neckbeard but they're actively trying to murder you and that should be Kaburagi, good luck to all!

Shikano Gen is the CEO of Gandai Incorporated and the employer of Sekibayashi Jun.  The two seem to be very close, with Gen thinking very highly of Jun and entrusting his company's fate to him in the Kengan matches.

Katahara Metsudo

Katahara Metsudo is the director of DaiNippon Bank and the current chairman of the Kengan association.  While he appears to be a frail old man, Katahara is far from it, and his voice still commands respect and makes lesser individuals and businessmen quiver in the boots upon hearing his booming warnings.  With the indomitable 'Fang' by Metsudo's side, he believes himself to be unstoppable, and that no fighter present shall overcome him and claim his seat at the top.   

  • "Then I accept your challenge!  Use everything you have at your disposal!  To challenge Katahara Metsudo and the 'Fang of Metsudo'!!!"

  • "I hereby declare the 'Kengan Annihilation Tournament' officially underway!" 

  • "Whether they be martial artists, brawlers, or murderers, I care not!!  I defy you all to defeat 'My Fang' and grasp the 'life' beyond 'annihilation'!!"

Heihachi is the representative director of Furumi Pharmaceuticals and the employer of Wakatsuki Takeshi.  The two share a close history, and Heihachi cares deeply for the safety and well-being of his fighter.  For this character I'd like a fatherly voice, one with care but can also be jovial around those close to him.

Komada is a very minor character in Kengan.  Originally meant to represent Nogi Group in the annihilation tournament, he is swiftly defeated by the protagonist, Ohma, in the first chapter.  For Komada I'd like a voice that embodies a huge, hulking man, something like you'd hear out of the hulk or a giant brute who loses their temper easily.

Ivan is another minor fighter in the Kengan matches, who teams ups with Lihito in an attempt to ambush Ohma very early into the story.  It doesn't turn out too well for Ivan though, and is quickly subdued by Lihito himself for failing to bring Ohma down.  Ivan is a lightweight kickboxer, so I'd like a voice that isn't that heavy compared to some of the other fighters on this page, now I know I have it listed that I'd prefer a russian accent for this character, but if you're incapable of doing a proper one that is absolutely fine, but if you can please feel free to show me your stuff!

The narrator while listed as a minor role will have plenty of speaking to do in Kengan when the characters themselves aren't describing the things they see in front of them!  For this I'd imagine a voice similar to the narrator of Dragon-Ball Z or Pokemon, a booming voice that can make clear and precise observations when speaking.  Good luck!
