Space Pirate Companion & Crew - A Starfield Expansion
Project Overview
The spacelanes are dangerous. Flying alone can get you killed. Who better to fly through the starfield with you than a Crimson Fleet pirate who reads more than most scholars, loves to throw hands, and uses effortless sarcasm and dry humor to fight back the ghosts of his past that he's been running from his entire life. But his ghosts hold secrets …and only you can help him discover them. Introducing Jett Ryker, the weirdest pirate you'll probably ever meet (and proud of it, too). Get to know him, and you'll find there's a lot more than meets the eye.
Choose your path: Will Jett remain a criminal for the rest of his life? Or will you set him on the road to redemption? Will you fall for him and find yourself entangled in a love story with high emotional stakes? Or will you develop a deep bond of friendship forged through blood, bullets, and adventure? Only you can decide.
As you adventure through the starfield, you can expand your crew with Maverick Vox, a genius Cyber Runner with ghosts of his own. You'll help Jett learn how he and Maverick are connected, help Maverick gain his freedom back, and help Maverick reconnect with someone who was taken from him years ago, Emilee, another unlikely and unusual potential crew member.
Along the way, you'll meet several quirky characters. Some friends, some foes. So buckle up for the grav jump. It's fly or die time.
About the Project
This project is a large-scale, story-driven companion expansion for the game Starfield and takes place in that universe. All of my characters, their backstories, and quests are completely original. I've been working on this project solo since October 2024. It is a passion project and a labor of love that will be shared with the Starfield gaming community for free. Deadlines
The deadline for auditions is July 30, 2026, and I will notify my chosen voice actors by Aug 3, 2026.
The recording deadline is ideally by the end of September for larger roles (Maverick, Delgado, Emilee, and Pik) and by the end of August for smaller roles. For Jett, I'd love to have his lines wrapped up by the end of October, but there's more flexibility for him as he has so many. My goal is to have this project released before the end of the year.
Things to Know:
No prior knowledge of Starfield required for auditioning
Starfield is rated M. This project has mature themes and profanity, but nothing graphic or sexually explicit
Roles are only open to 18+

Lines: Approx. 10,000 - He's a beast, I know, but he has a big range and is a very in-depth character. There's also potential for a pretty big audience, plus he's a lot of fun! Jett is a highly interactive companion with branching story paths.
Jett is written and ready to record, but he does have a few things still in the works that will push him a little over his current line count, and he'd get new content for future Starfield DLCs (assuming we get more). His current line count already includes all currently available DLCs.
Personality: Super confident, charismatic, and uses dry humor and sarcasm to mask depth. He's "effortlessly cool" but doesn't take himself too seriously. He knows he's good at what he does and has zero qualms about showing it. He's very flirty (if the player's flirty). Get to know him, and he also has a silly side. He's a "weird pirate" who is also a book and history nerd. Jett requires a pretty big emotional range.
Fears & Motivations: Fear of being without, fear of loss. Loyalty, love, and/or friendship as he gets closer to the player, and money because of his fear of being without.
Personal Background: Jett's lived a hard life and been a criminal since he was a kid, but he's not "evil." He does what he needs to do to survive. He's morally gray but a "mostly good guy at heart," though he doesn't shy away from violence when the situation requires it. He's also an adrenaline junkie and loves a good fight. Player choices will determine if he stays a criminal or takes a different path. The player helps Jett discover the truth about his past and a family secret he knows nothing about.
Vision for Jett's voice: Think along the lines of Leon Kennedy in Resident Evil 4, Paul Walker in 2 Fast 2 Furious, or Deacon from Fallout 4 as a reference for the overall vibe and delivery.

Maverick and Jett are friends, but their history goes deeper than Jett realizes. Mavierick is secretive and slowly opens up to Jett and the player as the player progresses through the story.
Vision for Maverick's voice: mid to deep, deadpan. Think along the lines of Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman for tone and delivery.

Romanceable: No. But there is a small rivalry I wrote between Delgado and Jett over the player if they're on the romance path.
Combat lines: No
If you're interested in revoicing the entire character, the voice would still need to be in the range of the original character to fit his appearance, etc. But there's more flexibility with a full revoice. Sound quality must be on par with the game.
My mod expands on the Crimson Fleet quest line so that players have more role play options as pirates once the base game quest is complete.
Jett's Crimson Fleet, and I wrote Delgado into his story. Delgado and Jett have a competitive dynamic. They have a mutual respect for each other, but Delgado's always flexing his authority. But they're close enough that Jett has no problem talking junk and pushing back.

Pik is a master thief and pickpocket and is Jett's crime mentor. Pik's lived in a sleep crate in Ebbside all his life and never been off-world. He's nonviolent and takes great pride in his marks never knowing what hit them.
Vision for voice: Southern or Texan twang but there's room to play/creative interpretation.

Vision for voice: Exaggerated French-sounding accent. Stretches his words out and talks just a hair too slow. You don't need to have a real French accent either, just be in that ballpark, or even like he's trying to talk that way.

If you aren't familiar with the character, Walter Stroud is a member of Constellation and is the person funding their operations. He's an older, wealthy businessman. On the surface he can come across as stuffy, but he's actually a bit humorous and very passionate about exploration. Walter has 2 scenes with Jett plus an alternate version of one depending on when the player introduces Jett to Walter. I wrote these scenes to help connect Jett to the world, and they are meaningful to Jett's backstory in an indirect way.
