Inspector Gadget: The Audio Drama
Project Overview
Inspector Gadget the Audio Drama is a slightly more mature and serious take on the classic Inspector Gadget series. Think Inspector Gadget but with the tone of a Marvel movie while still retaining the classic elements of the series.
The series follows rookie police officer Maxwell Gadget in Metro City, California, whose life is turned upside down when a freak accident during traffic detail nearly costs him his life. Clinging to life, the decision is made to try an experimental treatment that transforms him into a crime-fighting cyborg. Now promoted to the rank of police inspector, Inspector Gadget is assigned the M.A.D. case and must stop the syndicate from having their way with Metro City. However, he's not the brightest tool in the shed and often gets himself in trouble. Thankfully, his niece, Penny, is there to help him out of danger and solve the case.
Audition requirements:
Must be 18 years old or over to audition
Submit three takes going through all the lines (ABC, ABC, ABC)
Do not slate
Minimum quality must be a mid-range/neat professional USB Mic or a decent phone mic in a pinch. Use the best you have access to and record in a treated space (or under a blanket)

Dr. George Irving Claw is the mastermind behind the crime syndicate M.A.D. He wants nothing more than to control the world so that he can benefit.

Penny Dollar is Gadget's niece. Despite being only nine years old, she is wise beyond her years. Aided with her watch and her high tech laptop/computer book, she is usually the one who is solving Gadget's cases.

The eccentric scientist behind Gadget's cybernetic rebirth. He is mostly good natured and light hearted but can be serious when needed

(explaining to Gadget) First, let me introduce myself. I am Doctor Von Slickstein, a cyberneticist. You see, you are the first person to be treated using my experimental Gadget program. We essentially rebuilt you using cybernetics and enhanced you with a variety of devices.

Dr. Von Slickstein's research assistant. She has her medical doctorate in Medical Cybernetics and has a warm and nurturing personality. She, like Penny does with Gadget, also keeps the more eccentric professor in check

(while toothpaste is being fired at her) Say "Go Go Gadget stop!" (Gadget says "Go Go Stop!") Go Go "Gadget" stop!
The Gadgetmobile is Inspector Gadget's trusty crime-fighting vehicle. It has several gadgets onboard in addition to an onboard AI. Yes, the Gadgetmobile will talk in this version, but it will be more like KITT from Knightrider and less like he was in the movies.

Yes, Dr. Claw. The missiles, supplies, and blueprints for the silo arrived at the warehouse safe and sound, and no one suspects a thing. (after Dr. Claw asks him about the shipment)
Very good. Oh, just one more thing, sir?
Well, you see, I sent in a PTO request for the next week, and I was wondering if you had gotten a chance to review it?
A local farmer in the countryside of Metro City. His farm is somewhat well-known. He is forced to work with Dr. Claw and let them use his farm as a launch site. He only appears in one episode at this time.
Voice type: Thinking a cross between a US southern and upstate New York accent. Mid-low adult male voice
Now, who could that be? (seeing the Gadgetmobile pull up to his farm)
Zharko, someone knows about the missiles. Relay this to Dr. Claw. (talking to Zharko after giving Gadget permission to look around his farm)
I think you've gone far enough, little girl. Hands up. I don't want to have to kill anybody, let alone a child. (after discovering Penny snooping around)
The teenage son of Farmer Bianchi. He is a little more active in the plans of M.A.D. while they use his father's farm. Only appears in one episode so far

Hey, uh...dad? (Farmer: Yes, Dale?) That...Gadget guy you texted me about? Well, he was here in the chicken coup, and, um...I couldn't do it... (ashamed he couldn't follow through with getting rid of Gadget)

What it says on the tin. Tone should be calm but slightly authoritative but also not too serious at times. Looking mainly for male narrators but will consider female narrators as well. Only one take is needed for this audition due to the length of the lines.

It's midday on a busy road in Metro City, California. A lone police officer is monitoring the speed of passing cars near a speed trap. However, this rookie appears quite bored.
The officer continues his pursuit of the limo, unfortunately causing a bit of traffic himself as he tries to follow its speed. He follows the M.A.D. Limo to a dirt road.
Elsewhere, in the outskirts of the city, there is a seemingly unimposing office building. There are no markings on the outside, but if one were to enter, they would soon realize that they have entered the headquarters of the criminal syndicate M.A.D. Several employees, lackeys, or minions, depending on your terminology, of the syndicate were hard at work. Some appear to be the typical office stooge, balancing accounts and devising plans. Others, however, appear to be hard at work, developing weapons. There is even a small gym in the back where the more physically inclined members work out to develop their physique. In the back corner is the office of one Dr. George Irving Claw. The evil mastermind is seated at his desk, stroking his grey and black striped tabby cat.
