-UPDATE 1: PAGE REFRESHED TO SIMPLIFY LINES/DESCRIPTIONS OF ALL CHARACTERS, AS IT WAS TOO CONVOLUTED. OLDER AUDITIONS WILL BE GRANDFATHERED INTO THE AUDITION PROCESS, NO NEED TO REDO :)

-UPDATE 2 (Nov. 9): ADDED RECURRING ROLE "ASIM." UPDATED PROJECT DESCRIPTION. ELABORATED "SYNOPSIS" AND "ROLES & COMMITMENT." EXTENDED AUDITION DEADLINE TO NOVEMBER 30th. IF IT NEEDS TO BE PUSHED AGAIN, IT WILL BE PUSHED IN WEEKLY INCREMENTS UNTIL I CAN FILL ALL ROLES WITH A QUALITY I DEEM APPROPRIATE.

(1) IMPORTANT DETAILS

-Vulgar language; occasional cussing, sexual humor, dark humor, & politically incorrect humor

-Deadline was intended for the week of Thanksgiving (U.S. holiday). However, I will continue to extend this date until I have filled all of the roles with a caliber of quality I deem fit.

-I'm not going to be too picky with auditions being "too long" or if you improv. Go for it! :) I'll also listen to voice reels (you can DM it to me on discord, contact info below), but sending in your general reel this does not exempt you from also auditioning on the lines for your role.

-These characters are communicating over Xbox Live chat in the continuity of the show. So if your mic isn't perfect, studio grade equipment, that's not the end of the world. The quality won't actually be as poor as an Xbox mic, but it just has to be clear and tolerable, not perfect.

(2) PROJECT SYNOPSIS:

[THE PREMISE] - "Infinite Horizons"  (working title) is an upcoming Halo machinima series following a pair of childhood friends Jason "Jay" Johnson and Brendon "Blu" Bleue, who are reuniting over a newly released Halo spin-off.  Released during the long wait for Halo Infinite, this spin-off is titled "Halo: Infinite Horizons," an MMO faction-survival game, which includes guild and base-building elements (similar to Rust or Minecraft Factions servers).

[THE PILOT] - The series picks up a month or so after the game releases. After not speaking for roughly a decade, since the Halo 3 days, the aforementioned pair of friends is trying out this game for the first time together. Upon spawning in, the already clueless pair of newbies are immediately tossed into unusual situations with high profile players. They encounter Lex, a very skilled player carrying a legendary weapon (a one of a kind item in this game) trying to escape hunters from a corp (Infinite Horizon's version of a "clan" or "guild") who were ordered to acquire the weapon. At the same time, their paths cross with Leo, a strange, egotistical bounty hunter.

[THE SERIES] - If the show is able to carry on past the pilot, it will follow these four (Jay, Blu, Lex & Leo) and their interconnected exploits as an ensemble concept. The show will be tonally diverse, balancing light and dark tones between comedy and drama, and incorporating varying degrees of action from casual talking to fight sequences. Within the various stories and character arcs, I plan to explore themes related to power, purpose, identity, trust, loyalty, brotherhood, etc. Jay and Blu will reconnect while exploring this new world and encountering various types of players who inhabit it. Lex will deal with the repercussions of being overthrown, and learn how to trust again while taking the pair of noobs under her wing. Leo will discover how his actions as an in-game Bounty Hunter are impacting other players, and explore who he is beyond his persona. Several recurring characters such as Asim or Kate will also come into focus, helping to drive the long term narrative will be woven throughout the season.

(3) ROLES & COMMITMENT:

Here, you will find opportunities to audition for all four main roles and the central antagonist of the series, as well as any minor roles needed for the first episode. However, the plan is to continue this as a series, and most of these minor roles are likely to be recurring. Machinima takes a long time to make and the series could span years. If you're auditioning for a main role, please be sure that you'd be able to make that kind of commitment. It won't require a tremendous amount of time overall, but that time will be spread out over a long development cycle.

Latest Updates

  • Page Overhaul, Deadline Extension

Hey, all! If I've seemed radio silent about the project, it's because I discuss updates on my Discord server. However, for those who may not have caught the server link (https://discord.gg/EMn2vHm), I'm going to post an update here on the CCC page for everyone. First of all, thank you so much to everyone who has shown interest! Several of you have DMed me on Discord with positive interest for the project, and I have received some promising auditions so far and I’m really excited for how this is panning out! Now, as for this update, today has been the second major rehaul for the project page. UPDATE 1: (a week or two ago) I decided to follow some suggestions I've been getting and cut down on a lot of lengthy stuff, especially the excessive amount of sample dialogue. I also revised role and project descriptions. Old auditions based on those sample lines will still be considered though, so don't worry about redos or anything like that! UPDATE 2: Today (November 9th) was a more significant overhaul. I completely overhauled the description, pushed the deadline, and added a significant new role. (description) The description is somehow more organized than before, and includes more detailed information about the series to make my objective a lot more clear, since not many people are familiar with machinima. (deadline) Due to getting no auditions for most of the minor roles, and only one female VA auditioning so far between having 3 female roles to fill, I decided to extend the audition deadline to November 30th. If roles are missing or have no auditions I feel are up to par with what I’m looking for, I will continue to push the deadline by weekly increments until I feel that I have a solid cast. (seeking out VAs) Until now, I have been reaching out in various VA and machinima discords, as well as some irl friends in theatre schools to spread the word. However, spreading the CCC page has only got me so far and half of the roles still have no auditions, so this forces me to change my method of outreach. Now, I am going through VA directories, as well as recent machinimas, and compiling a list of VAs that I think would be good for one or more of my roles. I am more actively seeking out VAs and going to contact them directly rather than wait for people to come to me. (new role) During my rewrites, due to a pacing/structural issue, I decided to introduce a recurring character in the pilot that I was originally going to introduce in the second episode. His name is Asim, and in the pilot he will be a part of the group with Midguard Hunters 1 & 2. (other) With this rehaul and the very detailed project description, the only thing missing from the CCC page now are individual pictures for each character. I have not finalized their character designs (their armor sets) since I am currently focused on the aforementioned rewrites, as well as school. Thanks again for your interest and for keeping up! If you’ve got questions or comments, hit me up on Discord (server link and my Discord tag are on the bottom of the CCC project description). From - Krix

JAY (Jason)
open
Unpaid

Leadership has a way of finding Jay, although he never views himself as such. This naive modesty makes immorality sickening. He’s socially awkward (a product of his introverted nature), but the anonymity of being behind a screen helps him escape from the tether of his deeper social anxieties. Online, he’s not afraid to let his intellect loose as the group’s natural tactician. Although well-tempered, the weight of leadership and pent up disgust towards the unethical can bring him to a breaking point. First, his rage leaks through the cracks of his tame, respectful persona of optimism, until his dam finally bursts and he becomes a ruthless, cynical force of unstoppable rage.

Jay is familiar with Halo, being a long time fan, but this new spin-off is alien to him. As someone who usually stuck to campaign or customs and ignored the competitive aspect, the injustice he encounters in this new, faction-esque game-mode of spartan-eat-spartan shows him a darker side of the Halo community. Naturally, just like any injustice, once it’s under Jay’s eye he can’t stop picking at it like a scab until he discovers what’s underneath.  All the while, he is using the new game to reunite with Brendon Bleue, an old, childhood friend from his Halo 3 days.

18yo, moderate vocal depth (not James Earl Jones, but not Mickey Mouse)

Note, I am open to various ethnic and cultural backgrounds trying out this role!  He is male because it plays into his fraternal, brotherly relationship with Blu. But other than his gender the rest of his background is really up for grabs. So if yo have a cool or interesting background or accent I am not opposed to incorporating that into the character.

  • "ODST is underrated and you know it." (Jokingly annoyed, friendly debate)

  • "You remember CTF on Valhalla? Our usual gig?” (to Blu, implying an inside reference)

  • "Yeah, sorry about all that. Nice to meet you. I'm Jay, he's Blu, and you are?" (quickly, as if his apology is rehearsed)

BLU (Brendon)
open
Unpaid

Brendon “Blu” Bleue was childhood friends with Jay, and the pair were thick as thieves in the Halo 3 days. Jay was the self-conscious misfit, and Blu the self-destructive, sarcastic outcast, so they naturally bonded as runts of the litter. However, Blu’s insensitivity towards their friends drove everyone away until he, too, drifted away from Jay and left him in isolation.

Underneath it all, Blu is guilty for how he drives people away. He doesn’t understand how to confront it though, instead hiding his insecurities behind humor, cynicism, and sarcastic quips, leaving him unable to forge long-lasting connections. He’s trapped in a cycle of playing whatever bandwagon FPS games are popular, cycling through groups of random acquaintances he meets online and struggling to make any real, lasting friendships.

Now, seemingly out of nowhere, Blu gets an invite from Jay to play this new Halo game. After he destroyed their friend group and abandoned their friendship a decade ago, he struggles to understand why Jay would want his company and is suspicious of his motives. Blu’s journey is one of self-discovery, as he stops running from his inner demons and learns the value of forging relationships rather than submitting to his anxieties and shutting people out.

18yo; Mid-to-Deep vocal range preferred. As long as he is relatively deeper than Jay.

  • “Battlefield? You mean Battlegrounds. I’d never sink low enough to play an EA game. I mean, hell, I just got off of Apex before I came here!”

  • ”Just got off D2 with the squad. Loading up pronto.”

  • ”Look man, this thing was better in the old Halos, and now it’s a goddamn nerf gun. What’re we gonna do, point these fly swatters at him and tell him it’s nerf or nothing?”

LEX (Alexandra)
open
Unpaid

Lex is a very skilled player who got really into Infinite Horizons upon its release. After finding Nornfang, a one of a kind, legendary weapon, she became the leader of the largest corp (clan) in the game. However, after being usurped from her throne, she’s on the run and has to put up with Jay and Blu, who she sees as dumb and dumber.

After being betrayed and tossed out, Lex suffers from trust issues. This often results in a lone wolf approach, as she struggles with accepting help from others, or admitting to herself that she needs it. Outwardly, she tries to portray herself as intimidating, but in truth she is afraid to forge connections that might shatter.

Lex is extremely driven by her motivation to retrieve Nornfang and reacquire her rightful status, due to the time and emotion she has already invested in this game. However, her journey to accomplish this alongside Jay and Blu brings her to greater realizations about herself and what she really values.

20yo, deep voice preferred but moderate is fine. Not high pitched (maybe check out Kate if you’re higher pitched).

  • ”I may not have an army, but I have two idiots and a grenade, and I am very afraid to use them.”

  • “I’ve got snipes, watching your six from the right flank.”

  • “Thanks to you two dumb asses, we put it right back in her bitchy little hands! GAH!”

LEO (Leonardo)
open
Unpaid

Leo is among the most successful bounty hunters in the game, with his services attracting the business of big time corps (clans). However, his in-game reputation has gone to his head. He abuses his skill and status, indulging in his inflated ego by romanticizing the bounties he takes on as if they were exotic hunts.

As a highly skilled player, equipped thoroughly by large corps, it proves nothing to mockingly hunt lesser skilled and poorly equipped players like. After being defeated by freshly spawned noobs, Leo begins to become disillusioned with his persona, as he brings his pride and purpose into question.

~20’s, unspecified: Moderate-to-low vocal depth preferred

Latin American, Spanish, Italian, or other Romantic-Language-Speaking-Peoples accent preferred (preferably light/slight accent), but anything goes..

Note that I am not seeking an accent to try to create a stereotype, if that is a concern of yours. Yes, the romantic elements play well into his dramatic, showman nature. But ultimately, his arc involves growing out of his ego and dramatics, and realizing what his actions are really causing. Leo is multidimensional and won't just be a stereotype. Also, if you as a voice actor want to insert some of your own cultural background into the character, such as incorporating Spanglish slang into your lines where you think it adds zest to your performance, I think that would be really cool in making him more multi-dimensional and authentic. So, I will respect your ethnic background and not just relegate this role to a stereotype.

  • “I am the pack, baby.” (cocky)

“You forget. I am the pack.” (intimidating/threatening)

  • “It is true that you’ve paid for my allegiance, but now you’re paying me to break it.”

    ”Who are you people?!”

  • ”I’m, eh, still working on the name—but the point still stands!”

KATE
open
Unpaid

Katie, as her Gamertag “KweenKT33” suggests, is only in it for one person: herself. She’ll cross any boundary or break any bond to attain power. Kate came to the throne of the Midguard, the most prominent clan the Infinite Horizons world, by organizing a mutiny against Lex, the founding leader. After casting Lex out, however, she realizes she might be in over her head. Kate will do everything she can to keep her power, driven by an intense desperation, as she begins to unravel and lose sight of her desires.

~19yo or otherwise college; mid-to-higher pitch preferred but deeper works as well.

She's doesn't have a super-prissy tone, An element or degree of prissiness may help, but Kate's role is not to play into the super-prissy, scheming, clique-leader stereotype.  An echo of "prissy" can be present, that is up to your discretion, so long as it can be toned down to a cold, threatening tone in her darker moments.

  • “What do you mean, you ‘don’t know where they are’?!”

  • “No, no, no, NO! Yggdrasil is mine, and there’s no way in hell that crazy bitch is gonna change it!”

  • “We have your IP address on file. If you ever so much as think about the Midguard again, you will regret ever downloading this game.”

ASIM
open
Unpaid

Asim is one of the elite Midguard hunters assigned to kill former corp leader Lex, who escaped Kate’s mutiny with Nornfang, which is essentially the symbolic crown denoting leadership of the corp. Unlike the other hunters however, he is more forward-thinking and identifies Kate’s manipulative nature. He is much more reluctant to accept a usurper as his leader, and upon sensing disobedience towards her, the oppressive corp leader, Kate, disavows him. Essentially, this entails taking all of his belongings by force and exiling him from the corp with nothing.

However, he cleverly anticipates his execution, and craftily escapes alive with one of the Midguard’s most valuable possessions. Asim hails from an arabic descent, and was brought up with values of loyalty and honor. After taking part in a mutiny and narrowly escaping his own betrayal, he realizes that injustice and deceit are pervasive in the corp community. Using his stolen possession from the Midguard, he becomes an anonymous in-game vigilante, making it his mission to dismantle injustice within corps.

Asim may not appear in every episode, but he will become more relevant towards the latter portion of the season, when he re-emerges as a key figure in the overarching conflict.

~19yo, Teen or YA/College; no vocal depth preference; any accent, but a tinge of an accent from an Arabic culture would certainly play well into background & values.

NOTE: If you have an arabic cultural background, and have personal insight that might enrich how this character and their values are presented, I would definitely be willing to work with you to incorporate that into the role in authentic and respectful way. I think that would be super interesting to explore.

  • “Judging by the fact that I’m not dead right now, I’m going to guess you’re out of ammo. Considering we’re indoors, and I’ve got a sword, I’d say your chances aren’t looking too hot.”

  • “You already took her throne, and now we have her gun. I don’t think there’s much left to take.”

  • “I’ve been loyal throughout this whole ordeal. I stood by you when you said we needed change, but I’m not going to shy away from the facts.”

GHILLIE
open
Unpaid

Upon Ghillie’s first appearance, he seems like the living embodiment of irritation and immaturity. Fittingly, he is treated as the very caricature he portrays in his first run in with Jay and Blu. His name is not quite important as of now because, quite frankly, his greatest challenge is to be respected or taken seriously whatsoever.

However, if I am able to continue the series, this harmless noob will devolve after each encounter with the duo degrades a part of his humanity. Before Blu has time to realize the immense, negative impact of his outward resentment towards the noob, Ghillie will be morphed by hate into a nearly unrecognizable creature of vengeance.

~15yo, Any depth, as long as you can demonstrate an immature tone (doesn’t have to be the stereotypical squeaker)

  • “W-Well I just think it’s a bit rude to--”

    “Aw, man.” “Gosh, darn it!”

  • “Screw you guys! My dad works at Bungie!”

    "I'm gonna report you guys."

  • “Ya’know proximity chat’s a thing.”

MIDGUARD HUNTER 1 (F)

Minor antagonist. She’s a fairly skilled soldier in the Midguard, the largest and most notable corp (clan) in the “Infinite Horizons” in-game world. She was loyal to Kate during the mutiny against founding leader, “Axel” (AKA Lex, gamertag “AXELtheGR34T”).

This hunter is the more careful and tactically inclined of the duo, but her anger can get in the way of her focus.

~20’s, unspecified; deep voice preferred but anything goes; ability to sound mean/ruthless

  • "Heading in for flank.”

However, he’s very hot-headed, and his aggressive tactics reflect an arrogance that often times prevents him from attaining his goal.

~20’s, unspecified; deep voice preferred; ability to sound intimidating

  • “She went this way.”

MIDGUARD GRUNT

This grunt is Kate’s personal kiss-ass, but his second duty is being her loyal dog. He’s no executioner, as he is very indecisive, short-sighted, and weak, but he certainly feels powerful at the right hand of effectively the queen of an entire MMO game. He does, however, simultaneously fear her.

If I am able to carry on the series, this role may be recurring.

~15-25yo; Any vocal depth. But preferably not intimidating

  • “But don’t you think that’s a bit premature?”

  • “Yes, ma’am.”

  • “No, wait!--”
