After casting Lex out, however, she realizes she might be in over her head. Kate will do everything she can to keep her power, driven by an intense desperation, as she begins to unravel and lose sight of her desires.

She's doesn't have a super-prissy tone, An element or degree of prissiness may help, but Kate's role is not to play into the super-prissy, scheming, clique-leader stereotype.  An echo of "prissy" can be present, that is up to your discretion, so long as it can be toned down to a cold, threatening tone in her darker moments.
