Hello, there! My name is Zak Not Kyle, or Zak for short. I am currently seeking to find a team of voice actors for my indie roguelike RPG game, Neon NightZ. This game will feature both a full story mode and individual character stories. I’m looking for eleven parts to be filled by diverse talents and voices. Please read further if you are interested!
IMPORTANT NOTES
PAYMENT
This is a paid project with a rate of 15 cents per word. Each character averages around 500 words in both the story mode and the individual story sections. Minor characters average around 250 words and may be added as major characters later down the line in future casting calls. All payment is handled through PayPal unless otherwise arranged.
WHAT I ASK OF YOU
I am looking for voice actors with high quality microphone and booth setups to seamlessly incorporate their voices into the game. No specific microphone or setup is required, as long as it is high quality.
Voice actors will be chosen within a one week timeframe of the deadline ending.
The turnaround time, unless negotiated otherwise with me directly, is one month after selection, or October 7th. If you cannot record in this time frame, please do not audition.
Feel free to record multiple takes of your audition lines! It helps me see what your range looks like and if you could also be suitable for other roles.
FOR KARI / NEON KARI SPECIFICALLY: You will be required to record two sets of audition lines. Kari and Neon Kari will be done by the same voice actor and as such will need to audition for both roles.
With scenes that use multiple characters, further discussion on group sessions will be had after role selection.
FUTURE CASTING CALLS
This is labeled as Casting Call A. There will be further castings in the future as more characters for the game are added and worked on. If you don't make it for the roles listed this time around, feel free to audition again for the next casting call!
GAME OVERVIEW
Neon NightZ is an upcoming roguelike RPG project by new indie developer, Zak Not Kyle. Using elements of traditional RPG design, pixel art and animation and a race-against-the-clock approach to the roguelike format, this new title allows you to control celebrities, brawlers and criminals to answer the question of what people would do to gain money, power and fame.
PLOT OVERVIEW
In a near distant future, there resides a city that doesn’t sleep despite never seeing daylight. This city is illuminated under an infrastructure of renewable neon energy coursing through the streets. Home to a melting pot of people from all sorts of backgrounds, this metropolitan cybernetic haven is known as NeoCity. Their renewable energy fueled by hydro powered dams creates enough energy to keep the city permanently illuminated in darkness.
The renewable energy’s excess materializes into a consumable source of power for people to harness. Every year, to get rid of the excess, a tournament known as the Neon Fights Tournament is held. Everyone wants this source of energy or the million dollar cash prize offered to each of the winners. What the winner does with the money is their choice, as is the power.
Your goal is to come out of this tournament with the money, the power and the fame. Assemble a team of celebrities, moguls, criminals and more in a race against the clock to win it all for whatever goals (or misdeeds) you want!
The pressure is on, and the fight is, too. Who will you lead to victory?

There was a mistake with closing the casting, so it currently says on all of the roles that they were cast off-site.
This is not true, I am casting on CCC. I just hit the wrong setting to prevent new auditions from being submitted and it accidentally said that all of the roles were cast off of CCC. This is just to clarify that important misstep!
I am through about 4,000 of the auditions so far! You guys have made incredible submissions, so thank you all again.

I am truly blown away with the amount of auditions we have gotten for Neon NightZ. 6,000 is well beyond what I thought was possible for this project, so thank you all.
I'm ramping up the speed at which auditions are being looked at, and you will see the announced final voice actors for our first eight playable characters on August 8th on the Neon NightZ social media accounts, along with the castings for the rest of the characters!

Thank you all for 4,000 auditions on this project. I am incredibly appreciative of all the work you guys have put in to your auditions. I am around halfway through (2,000) reviewing them. As far as updates and such are concerned, I have a few!
The second casting call with all of the new roles will be published on August 1st. It will run until September 30th. During that time, the Kickstarter for the project, along with the public announcements for the final VAs from this project will be shown on the project's social medias!

Mayor Hugo the main commentator and announcer in the stories told in Neon NightZ. As a charismatic mayor of the city, Hugo never fails to make everyone around him think everything he's doing is perfectly calculated, even if it sometimes isn't. With unwavering confidence that only breaks around his closest allies, we look to see an ability to dynamically change the pitch and tone of one's voice for the role.

Skyela is a professional jewel thief who has quite the personality about her. She begins the story mode as a villain before going about redeeming herself in an anti-hero fashion. Her general demeanor is questionable to the other characters, making her untrustworthy as an ally, despite her unique skills and profits.

Jenna is a member of Team Agent, a conglomerate of specialized fighters that protect NeoCity. Jenna specifically is a very focused, workaholic fighter who rests at nothing to properly take out her targets. She will rarely show emotion or anything but a stern tone with those she confronts and hopes to use the resources of the Neon FightZ tournament's prize to take out her prime target, Cloud 9.

Ajani is the leader of the RedBottoms crew of famous celebrities who use their power and money to their advantage. Ajani is the winner of the third Neon FightZ Tournament. In his private life, he has a secret relationship with his stylist and friend, Zayden, which they both try to hide from the public. Ajani's able to play to the emotions and needs of a situation, so having a voice actor that can be flexible in this way would be optimal.

She built him with the intention of fighting better than other competitors since robots are not banned in the Neon FightZ tournament.
