INTRODUCTION:
I Wore Black at Our Wedding or for short, IWBAOW, is an animated slice of life drama that deals with concepts of death and depression, portraying stages of love, loss and grief. The show revolves around a group of friends who are generally living well off lives, but over the course of several episodes, things start to go downhill fast. This show will also deal with terminal illness. Please keep in mind that this project is totally nonprofit, created by a group of volunteering talented individuals. REQUIREMENTS:
- Please be 16+ if you choose to audition. This show will cover many heavy topics that may not be suitable for younger folks
- Voice actors, please be willing to send lines on time as well as resubmit any lines
- PLEASE STAY COMMITTED TO THE PROJECT!!!! FAILURE TO STAY COMMITTED WILL BLACKLIST YOU FROM ANY OTHER PROJECTS THAT I CREATE.
- Have reliable audio quality and a lot of emotion (voice actors). This project will be very emotional for one, so please have a complex emotional range.

He is the lead male of the series as well as the boyfriend of the main character. He is caring and nice, and on the handsome side, which causes him to be very popular with the ladies. He migrated to the US from Puerto Rico, so he should have a spanish accent, though this isn’t required. If you choose to audition for him, please know how to sing. His voice should sound like a teenager since he’s still a senior in highschool. Beside's the protaganist, he has the second highest amount of lines. Please know how to improvise!
Range: Doesn't matter, but he should sound more on the gentle side. If anything he sounds most like Makoto Tachibana from Free!
(CONTEXT- He should be concerned and questioning the health of his girlfriend. He sounds very concerned)
Colette, are you sure you’re OK? I mean, you’ve been like this for months- you’ve been losing so much weight, and you have super bad cramps... What did the doctor's say? Do you think it could be serious?
(CONTEXT- He should lose his cool and sound incredibly angry. Not the irritated angry, but the type of angry as to when you're at a loss. (Does that make sense?))
That’s all crap Aisha! You know she’s lying! Why have we been saying this for the past 3 months- 3 months?!? There’s something wrong with her! You and I both know that. ((Pause)) She’s sick. It’s not indigestion- or constant fever! It’s never been! She’s been having abdominal pains, losing weight, vomiting! Don’t tell me she just ate something bad.
Since Santiago is going to be singing in the series, please include a clip of you singing! Please make it a minimum of 30 seconds to the maximum of a minute :)
Aisha is a supporting character as well as a friend of Santiago and Colette. She’s good willed, headstrong, and sort of like the mother of the group. She’s dating Annabeth who will be introduced later on. Aisha is of African American descent, so if you audition for her, please be of african American descent. Her voice should sound like a teenager in high school. She is a lead supporting, and you can even count her as a lead. Please know how to improvise!
Range: Doesn't matter, but I was thinking she should sound very soothing. Kinda like the English voice of sailor Saturn in Sailor Moon Crystal
(CONTEXT- She's trying to convince Santiago that something isn't that serious. She should sound like she's trying to convince herself too.)
She looked… really sick… Maybe- Maybe she ate something bad? You know her, she always forgets the expiration-
(CONTEXT- She should be kinda more happy and peppy. Not overly peppy where it sounds sarcastic though.)
In celebration of Colette’s not that serious disease thingy and her birthday, I think we should all catch a tan at…. Santiago drum roll please.. The beach!
(CONTEXT- She sound be defending herself. Her tone should be a little loud, and on the firmer side. Aisha should hold a bit of anger, but this line shouldn't be dripping with it.)
Hey- Don’t yell at me for something I have no control over! I don’t know what’s wrong with her- I don’t know how to magically make this go away! Don’t take your anger out on me!
Annabeth is a supporting character as well as a friend for Santiago and Colette. She’s more on the emotional side, and is a sucker for sweets. She lets her heart guide her and doesn’t have many regrets. She is dating Aisha and is a year below everyone. She’s french Canadian, so it would be preferable if you had a French accent, but it’s not required. Her voice should sound like a teenager in high school. She can be considered as a lead supporting. Please know how to improvise!
Range: A bit higher pitched but not to the point where it's obnoxious. I was thinking she sound kinda fun and carefree. She sounds similar to the English version of Maka Albarn, but a bit more softer in tone.
(CONTEXT- She should ponder for the first part, but when she finally get's the answer, she should sound super excited.)

(CONTEXT- She should be kinda gossiping/ranting about a teacher she majorly dislikes.)
So, as I was saying- Mr. Wilson is such a sucky teacher! He taught us to annotate in summary annotations- but when we get the test, it says we need to do critical annotations! Like, what kinda bs is that?
(CONTEXT- She should sound very factual with the way she's talking.)
But, Cholecystitis is basically the inflammation of your gallbladder. Do you have gallbladder stones or is it something else?
Kaitlin is a supporting character as well as a friend of Santiago and Colette. She’s very tough and brash, and tends to show up to the group with a new scar or bruise every time. She drinks a lot of protein shakes, and is the sporty one of the group. She is Australian, so it would be preferable if she had an accent, but it’s not required. Her voice should sound like a teenager in high school. She is a supporting character, but you can categorize her more as a lead supporting role. Please know how to improvise!
Range: A bit lower pitched. I was thinking she sound kinda likes she’s talking in all caps. She sounds similar to the English version of Black Star, but lower in pitch.
(CONTEXT- She should be really confused the whole time, and sound like she's talking in all caps.)

(CONTEXT- She's defending her friend's from another person. A playful tone should be kept, but at the same time, it sounds super menacing. )

Darla is Colette’s mother who migrated from the Philippines with her husband. She is a nurse and a typical caring mother. Her voice should sound in her 40’s. She has a filipino accent and it is highly recommended that you know the language, but it’s not required.
Range: It's up to you, but she should just sound like your traditional mild mannered mother.
(CONTEXT- She sound sound very mild, and apologetic.)
