Hirano and Kagiura (Manga Fandub VOL 1)

Upon first impression Hirano's personality seems to match his looks, due to his blunt way of speaking and rough mannerisms. However, despite his issues with communication, he is in fact quite thoughtful and the most motherly of them all, often taking care of his friends and juniors in whatever way he can. Though his appearance breaks the school dress code, in all other respects he is a model student with good grades and a good demeanor to his teachers.

Hirano's personality shifts slightly when he is around Kagiura, though he seems to be unaware of it. He tends to smile and laugh more, and treats Kagiura with special care.

Kagiura is straightforward and honest to a fault, often causing him to be the butt of gentle teasing and jokes from his seniors. Although he is a ladies man, he shows no interest in them. He is generally bright and cheerful, but he is a sore loser and at times he is prone to bouts of moodiness, especially after losing a game.

He tends to be very needy to the people around him, namely Hirano. However, he is deeply and seriously passionate for the things he cares about, such as basketball.

Hanzawa is an easily amused, rather cryptic senior. Though he puts on a friendly exterior, he is not an easy person to read. He usually keeps his calm and rarely raises his voice. He is also very observant, noticing and remembering little details about the people around him. 

Between his various responsibilities such as his two clubs and his dorm headship in his second year, he still makes time to keep an open ear for his juniors and is there to help them out whenever he can. He is often seen teasing his juniors like Kagiura (for liking Hirano), Miyano (because he might not grow taller anymore) and Tashiro, though it is usually not with malicious intent. 

At school, he is described to have stellar grades and be involved in most extracurricular projects. He loves being kept busy and is sad to graduate.

Niibashi is sharp-witted and straightforward to a fault, and though he is not impolite, he is aware of that fact and worries his words can sometimes come off harsh. He likes himself to the point that some would call him narcissistic.

Initially, Sasaki is presented as a bright and cheerful upperclassman, albeit overly anxious; however, this is not necessarily the full picture. He can be impulsive, acting or speaking without thinking about the consequences or the people around him. He can be a bit apathetic at times, both with his friends and with his family.

His personality can drastically change when around Miyano, showing a more cheerful, caring, and somewhat flirtatious side of himself, as well as trying to be as careful and soft as possible in his manner of speech. He is protective of Miyano and shows a more intimidating side of himself when someone bothers him, even scaring Ogasawara.

Miyano is a kind and good-natured person who can be incredibly straightforward and passionate.

Miyano tends to be quiet and reserved, though he’s not shy and has an easy time getting involved or taking initiative. He is not afraid to speak his mind and can put his foot down when needed. He’s quite affable and has an easy time speaking with and developing good relationships with the people around him. He often speaks very politely and can come across as rather strait laced.

Miyano is very caring and kind. He tends to look out for others and keeps people’s best interests at heart. He is the type to go out of his way to help others, even when it may be an inconvenience, and will carefully consider other peoples’ stance in a situation rather than act on his own feelings in the moment.

Despite his reserved nature, Miyano is very passionate and overzealous when it comes to his interests, particularly BL. He will brighten at any mention of his interests and will ramble on and on to anyone willing to listen. While he does his best to keep his passions in check, his interests will always be on his mind, and he will often hone onto anything that reminds him of them with piqued curiosity.

He’s very studious and takes his schooling seriously, limiting himself when it comes to his hobbies and using them as motivation when preparing for exams.

Miyano seems to be an awkward, anxious, and self-conscious person. He tends to overthink things which leads him to worry over imaginary scenarios, what other people may think, or if he is reading a situation correctly. When feeling anxious, he will often get flustered, stumble over his words, and become very defensive.

Due to his androgynous appearance, Miyano was frequently teased in middle school for looking ‘girly’, which caused him to develop an insecurity over being seen as cute or effeminate. Over time, he was able to overcome this insecurity with support from Sasaki and his classmates.

Ogasawara is superficially a bad boy, but he is soft on the inside. Though he is very direct with his words, sometimes to the point of being harsh, he also depends on his friends a lot - especially when it comes to emotional support during fights with his girlfriend Yokota Eimi.

Although he has a harsh side within him, he is also very honest and earnest towards the people he cares for and he is not ashamed to admit that he is in love with his girlfriend, despite their quarrels and claims he would never get involved with a woman he had no plans to marry.
