WARNING: What you see in the current character descriptions can be/will be slightly out of date as some changes have been made to the overall story of GN. However the descriptions you see of the characters currently still stand as an overall idea of the personality of the character and what they may be like in the show. Additionally this is only the PILOT casting call and therefore your role as a VA may not be guaranteed for the first or second seasons outside of how long your character may last. If the pilot goes well it is more than likely you will be invited back to be the fulltime VA of your given character.

Goodbye Notes is an animated crime/horror drama series set in a world of anthropomorphic animals. Iku Meadows, a cynical high school student, is accused of killing a teacher and struggles with her past while facing a deteriorating social life. She finds solace in Azalea Farrow, a kind-hearted classmate who unknowingly becomes her romantic interest. As the two partner up to find the real killer, Iku begins to realize just how much everyone around her never faces any real consequences for their actions.

Hi all, so I've decided that instead of waiting for the audition deadline to approach, I will slowly do callback interviews through the weeks leading up to that deadline and a bit after it so it's not super overwhelming to get into contact with everyone and so that we can get a lot of them out of the way before the final deadline.

A little bit before the first few character auditions close I will post the second part of the casting call with the characters I've slowly been rolling out and uploading to CCC with their new pilot redesigns as well as some updated lines and bios.

FEMALE - SHE/HER - BISEXUAL
Iku Meadows [16] is a rather misunderstood character, often having outbursts due to being overwhelmed or not having things going her way. She is easily upset and thinks quite negatively of the world due to how she grew up. However, she tries her best to acknowledge her faults and tries to seek help for her mental issues and health but to no avail. She spends her free time learning new recipes for baked goods and making crafts and sculptures.

Azalea Farrow [15]
Iku loves Azalea as she’s one of the only people to have ever been kind to her and shown that she cares for her. She wants to be a good partner but is afraid of messing everything up. Just as she is envious of Ibu, she is also envious of Azalea being able to go out in public and be so out-going and friendly. However, Iku does her best to be good to Azalea by doing all she can to be affectionate.
Askarie Farrow [10]
Having found Askarie all on his own after being thrown out by his abused parents, she and Azalea took Askarie in and are currently his caretakers along with Angelica. With the help of Angelica, both Iku and Azalea were able to gain parental rights over Askarie. Iku does her best to make sure that Askarie lives the rest of his childhood in blissful awareness and doesn't have to endure anymore abuse from anyone. However she struggles as she tends to have outbursts from her lack of patience and unresolved personal issues. She does her best to make it up to Askarie by giving him lots of treats and showing him how to do different crafts.
Ibu Meadows [16]
Iku loves her twin sister, Ibu. While Iku wants to be a good sister, she can’t help but envy how out-going Ibu is and how her life is going so much better than hers and tends to distance herself from Ibu, often ending up being aggressive towards her in an attempt to push her away. Whenever possible, Iku tries to make up for how she acts to Ibu by baking her treats any time she comes over.
Iku is one of two main characters. You will be paid more than the side cast for your time as you will be voice acting two full seasons of Goodbye Notes. Please also keep in mind that production may be a bit slow due to starting this from scratch and it of course being indie. Also when auditioning you may create lines based on Iku's relationship with her peers.

“What does it even mean to be normal? All the other kids continuously tell me to be normal because I’m such an apparent freak and yet… what do those words even imply? Is it predictability? If I simply do what others predict I would do, would that constitute being normal? No, that doesn’t make sense. Then I’d have to carefully study every person I’d ever meet and perfectly predict exactly what each of them expects of me. So is it about being social? If I simply start chatting it up with everyone, will they eventually accept me? No, I’ve tried talking to people before but they all just scoff and move on. So what is it? What secret guidebook does everyone else possess that I was never given?” (Confused, Monologue)

FEMALE - SHE/HER - LESBIAN
Azalea Farrow [15] is a quiet and calm natured character, with a knack for cheering up others and being accepting of everyone no matter where they come from or what they look like. She hopes to be the shoulder anyone can lean on and wants to be there for her friends and family. Because of this, she constantly feels as if she’s not doing enough to help those around her and tends to doubt if she’s doing the right thing. Azalea spends her time studying hard and practising her vocals for the band group she’s in.

Iku Meadows [16]
Azalea loves Iku with all her heart and feels terrible she can’t do more for Iku. She wants to be a good partner but is mentally drained trying to handle all of her problems at once, often not having much energy to spend time with her friends and family. Azalea believes that with time and love and care that Iku will get better and they can live their life happily.
Askarie Farrow [10]
Having found Askarie all on his own after being thrown out by his abused parents, she and Iku took Askarie in and are currently his caretakers along with Angelica. Ibu Meadows [16]
Ibu and Azalea became friends back in middle school and have been good friends since. Both Ibu and Azalea are a part of a popular group of kids due to them both being known to be kind and caring towards others as well as very good sports about their hobbies and lives. The two like bonding over their shared love of the outdoors and their similar humor.

Kitara Banks [16], also known as Kiki, is a bold and expressive person who often thrives on dark humor and investing herself in online drama and on-going police/murder cases. She's a middle class citizen who pretends to be rich for her social media to gain more views. While she is good friends with Azalea and Aspen, she overall isn't a very good person, often using others to get more views and a better spotlight.

Herona Dunn [15] is a extremely rude and loud person who loves causing trouble and flaunting his wealth to other people. He gets along extremely well with the well known delinquents of the school and enjoys hurting and bullying other students just for the fun of it. He doesn't have much remorse or empathy for anyone else but Eliza and Yui. He's extremely bratty and if he doesn't get his way he will throw a fit about it.
NOTE: Herona gives off similar vibes to Andrealphus from Helluva Boss but with a much younger teenager voice.

Elizabeth Hayes [16]
Herona became friends with Eliza at the start of his time at East Shores High, quickly getting on her good side and being invited to join Eliza and Yui in their small friend group. Herona idolizes Eliza and sees her as an incredibly smart and strong person. He will follow her lead and does whatever she says if it means making her happy and carrying out some ridiculous plan to harm others.
Yui Sik [16]
While Yui is quite around Herona, he doesn't mind it and even enjoys it when she's often more quiet than he and Eliza are. However he will still take orders from Yui and even do a lot of dirty work with her for Eliza. He likes the quiet relationship she has with him and doesn't give her any shit for not wanting to speak much.
"Excuse ME?! How DARE you say that to her! Apologize right now or I will get my father to run your parent's business into the ground! You will regret this!" (Angry, snobby)
"Haha yes! And when you get those .. eugh- poor people out of the way, the world will be ours for the taking!" (Excited, grossed out, snobby, over confident)

FEMALE - SHE/HER - ACE BISEXUAL
Yui Sik [15] is a quiet but aggressive kid and tends to spend her time with Eliza and Herona bullying other students and causing trouble for the adults. She is one of the younger kids in the cast but despite that she acts as if she's much older. She tends to only speak when she's trying to mock somebody or is genuinely shocked/angry.

Floral Meadows [16] is the cousin of Iku and Ibu Meadows. He's usually quiet and tries to stay out of the way of other people's problems but constantly gets roped into being the "therapist friend" which leaves him feeling frustrated and used.
"Ibu! I am *sick* of listening to you acting all guilty about Jack's death and then you turn around and say that it was Iku's fault when it was not?! Can you fucking take accountability for once??" (Angry, confronting)
"Maybe you deserved what she did to you considering you were the one who started it." (Condescending, annoyed)
"Leave me alone, Iku. Both you and your sister need to sort out your problems without involving other people." (Dismissive, annoyed)
Younger twin brothers of Azalea Farrow. Reoccurring for both seasons 1 and 2. Would prefer for their VAs to be the same one with slight differences for each of them.

Yun Karev [17] is mute with a slightly disfigured face who is unbelievably shy. Hides from any social interaction other than Ruby and some other close friends. Is also a crybaby but too scared off showing that to strangers. If she cries in front of you, it’s actually a sign she trusts you.
NOTE: Yun does not speak much other than some mumbles and sounds and if she's brave enough, Ruby's name. She has selective mutism and her disability only affects how she looks.

Yun loves spending her time quietly making little crafts and bracelets with Ruby while listening to her talk about her day. Ruby often takes Yun out on little cafe dates and Yun just goes along with it because she knows Ruby loves to be active and in the spotlight. However sometimes she can't help but feel Ruby tries to speak over her rather than for her, always feeling insecure whenever Ruby brings up how "disabled" she is and that she needs to protect Yun.

Askarie [11] puts on a tough exterior to shield himself from the years of abuse and isolation he’s had to face. By all definitions of the word. He’s a punk. The streets raised him more than his own parents did and the way he acts makes that very obvious. When Iku/Azelea first run into him, he breaks down in front of them and tells them the sob story of how his parents kicked him out of his home, but right as Iku/Azelea go in to comfort him, he snatches their wallets and runs away calling them dumbasses and shitheads.
Askarie's relationships will be added at a later date.

Jack [n/a] is more of a symbol for Iku and Ibu’s childhood. A sweet young boy who could do no wrong, accidentally killed by his sisters. His death haunts both of them.
NOTE: You would also be voicing lines for Erebus, a character only ever seen by Iku. (This would be considered as a chorus of voices as well as Erebus "mimicking" Jack's voice.)

Iku and Ibu Meadows [16]
Jack is a haunting memory for both of the sisters and leaves a lasting impact on both of them after his death. When he was still alive he loved both of them dearly as they were his older sisters and they'd teach him all kinds of fun games to play. He doesn't blame either of them for his death and feels terrible about the way things turned out. He just wants them to be happy.

Chu Kate [15] is an avid reader and spends a lot of time studying and picking out interesting books and research papers regarding the history of the world and anything regarding science. He also likes to read science-based manga when he isn't studying. He is a part of Ibu's friend group and is like the "tired dad" of the group. He also is rarely in any mood to take shit or listen to other people's drama.
"Ibu, shut UP! Take your problems else where!" (Angry, annoyed)
"(eye roll) and hedgehogs fly. Both of you need to get your heads out of the gutter." (Tired, disappointed)

Erebus [?] often referred to as he/they, is a mysterious and dark being who grows more and more fierce as time goes on, having his stunts and taunts becoming more dark and grusome. He is seen constantly terrorizing Iku and forcing her to believe in the screwed up sayings of the past.
Erebus is a reoccuring character in both season 1 and 2. You will be paid more than the side cast for your time as you will be voice acting two full seasons of Goodbye Notes. Please also keep in mind that production may be a bit slow due to starting this from scratch and it of course being indie. Also when auditioning you may create lines based on Erebus' relationship with Iku and his ever troubling nature..

Amber Lelia [16] is a nearly insane conspiracy theorist, Amber is completely convinced that the government is trying to manipulate the public to some degree, and she won’t let them get to her! She takes precise care to make sure there isn’t a single trace of her on the internet, doesn’t drink caffeine because it was invented by the CIA (or this world’s equivalent), and has a fallout shelter dug under her house (complete with canned food, provisions, and an unregistered firearm). She also knows how to dislocate her own finger to get out of handcuffs for some reason?
"No coffee, CIA invention. I’ll just have some OJ… please…" (Thinking, sitting in a cafe)
"I’ll be fine. In case anything happens to me, I’ve learned to dislocate both my thumbs to escape handcuffs. finger cracking noise" (Confident, dismissive)

FEMALE - SHE/HER - QUESTIONING
Elizabeth Hayes [16] is a destructive and mean character, bullying other students and hurting others often. She hates being in the overworld and attending school, doing everything she can to get out of it and wreck havoc for anyone who gets in her way. Her anger and outbursts only have gotten worse overtime especially with her father favouring her brother, Carlos, over her. She uses her spare time to train in fighting and sparring with her friends, Herona and Yui.

Ibu Meadows [16]
Eliza hates seeing Ibu winning most of the competitions hosted by the school as well as out of school. She thinks lowly of Ibu due to her sister, Iku and thinks that the two sisters are lame. Eliza sees Ibu as clingy and annoying and is unsure why she keeps trying so hard to be her friend.
Iku Meadows [16]
Eliza hates how whiny Iku is about her problems and how she makes everything about herself. She often gets into fights with Iku, constantly trying to piss her off because of how pathetic she thinks she is. Eliza will do anything to annoy and/or trigger Iku in the worst ways possible.
Herona Dunn [15]
Eliza became friends with Herona near the start of her time at East Shores High. She invited Herona to join her in a group with Yui and the three became real good friends. Eliza sees Herona as a bit stupid and silly but enjoys his company and loves sparring with him. She doesn't know whether or not she sees him as more than a friend but she will never admit to how she feels to him.
Yui Sik [16]
Eliza has known Yui since her time in middle school at Aether Academy. The two were in with a larger group known for causing trouble and wrecking havoc upon the teachers and students alike. Eliza sees Yui as her right hand man and even if they don't talk heart to heart or get sappy, she holds her in high regards and would do anything to protect her.
Come on! Fight me! Use that good for nothing rage you have and come at me with all you've got! Or are you too scared to get into trouble again nerd?! (Mocking, yelling, excited)

FEMALE - SHE/HER - PANSEXUAL
Ibu Meadows [16] is the twin sister to Iku Meadows. Ibu is a much more outgoing and athletic character compared to her sister, Iku Meadows. Ibu is much more positive about the world and does everything she can to do well in school and to be a good sister. However, she too suffers with her mental health just as Iku does but is able to reach out to others for help. She spends her time training for the next sports tournament and spending time outdoors.

Ibu feels incredibly guilty whenever she sees Iku due to an incident in their past that had given Iku more trauma and made her the front for the abuse they were recieving from their parents. While she does want to make an effort to be on good terms with Iku, she struggles to actually apologize for her actions despite knowing right from wrong.
Iku, please! It was more than six years ago, just let it go! (Pleading, upset)

I’ve found myself running a lot more often, lately. My coach tells me it’s wonderful that I’m putting so much effort into all this, and my teammates all stare at me with jealousy, praying to god that one day, their death-glares will be strong enough to make me spontaneously combust. Strange, isn’t it? How a single girl’s need to not think about her own issues can give her enough motivation and endurance to out-run an entire class of wannabe sprinters? Maybe if I find something new to get paranoid over, it’ll give me enough power to become good at another sport? Preferably one that isn’t fucking track? (Inner monologue)
MALE - HE/HIM - STRAIGHT
Mr.Pumpkin [26] is a clam and patient character who is often seen as silly and relaxed by his students. He connects well with most of them in each of his classes as he does his best to get to know them and their needs for learning. He however will not take any nonsense or disruptions to his lessons and will deal with rowdy students accordingly.
Pumpkin has no relationships at this time.
*yawning* Azalea, what you need to know is that you have a kind heart. However, you can't let that cloud your judgement when bad things happen. Gather all the facts, do your research. But remember that even if someone is bad that is no reason to be horrible towards them, it's more than likely that they need help too. (Tired, caring and trying to understand but giving bad advice)

Ruby Ank [16] is a very outgoing and eccentric character who is seen as rather obnoxious and annoying by her peers and is often bullied and picked on for it. However she continues to put a smile on her face despite it because she wants to make sure all the attention is on her so none can fall onto her girlfriend, Yun and have her be bullied.

Despite the two being very different, Ruby loves spending time with Kitara as the two get along well and tend to put together little acts for Kitara's socials.

Ruby adores her quiet girlfriend and does everything she can to put a smile on her face. The two tend to spend their time making little crafts and bracelets for eachother and often go out on little cafe dates. Ruby is quite over protective of Yun and will do anything to ensure no attention from bullies goes towards Yun.

"No, that hoodie’s too colorful… oh! How about this one! With how baggy and dark it is, you won’t stand out one bit! Just gotta put that hood over you and… perfect! " (Shopping with Yun, deciding)

Rico Pyle [Late 20s] is a racist/speciest PE/gym teacher who dies at the start of the show, gets the ball rolling after his death. Iku is accused of his murder. He is an extremely petty and cruel person who makes a lot of rude remarks about his students and is on the verge of losing his job because of his continued rude and unorderly behavior. He has two young children and a wife.

I’ve been monitoring your behavior for a year. I’ve seen how hostile you’ve become around your classmates, and it's quite disappointing. But at least I can admit that we creatures have a tendency to hurt or kill, especially of your kind. Sometimes it's in our nature to indulge in these urges. an act of justice per se doesn't substitute the fact that you’re all savages. And you did all this simply because you weren't born in the perfect body. You’ll never change. You’ll always be a disgrace to mother nature. (Disappointed, manipulative, rude, but steady/calm)
