Fossil Mining - Legacy of the Dragonborn Add On (Skyrim Mod)

Fossil Mining - Legacy of the Dragonborn Add On (Skyrim Mod)

Project Overview

What is Fossil Mining - with Legacy Support?

Fossil Mining is an add-on Skyrim mod that adds fossils, fossil mining, and a paleontologist companion to Legacy of the Dragonborn, a DLC-sized Skyrim mod that allows the player's actions to have more of an impact on the province of Skyrim through expanding upon the main quest, adding a new faction, providing a museum location where items and accomplishments of the Dragonborn can be displayed, and much much more. Both mods have already been released on NexusMods; we are simply getting the voice acting sorted out for the paleontologist companion added to the Fossil Mining Add-on.

Requirements for Auditioning Voice Actors:

We are currently looking for 18 years of age or older voice actresses with an XLR mic set up, proper recording room acoustics, a fair amount of voice acting or real-life acting experience, a pop filter, the ability to name files correctly based on information from a Google Spreadsheet, and the ability to do basic audio processing.

Instructions for Auditioning Voice Actors:

We request that all VAs who are interested are also able to communicate and send/receive files through Discord servers and DMs. On Discord, you will be communicating with me (@ACTIONFIGHTER11#2791) via DMs. If you are cast, you will receive your lines within a week through discord along with recording instructions, deadline, and line direction through a voice call or pre-written notes.

If you do request to communicate with us through Email or another communication software, please send a private message to my profile on Casting Call Club and explain your situation. I will work with you via CCC Private Messaging to find a solution.

We expect lines to be sent back following the correct organization and formatting specified during DM conversation within a month of receiving the script. If recording your lines takes more than a month, please notify me as soon as possible via Discord DMs and we can work out a solution.

If you do not notify me of the possibility that a one month turnaround time is not enough when that is the case, I will be proceeding with the standard procedure by expecting line submissions within a month of receiving the script. If you are cast and have any complications, please notify me via Discord DMs as soon as possible.

Your character has a total of 319 lines, including both unique lines and reactions (combat grunts, generic greetings, etc.).

You should record all 3 audition lines included for each character. For each audition line, submit only one take for review. Be sure to follow the scene context and line instructions provided for the audition line. You should be recording through an audio recording software like Audacity or Adobe Audition. You should export and submit your audition as a .wav audio file with the settings of 44.1 kHz, 16 bits, and mono recording format.

If you get cast, but we lose contact with you for over a month without notice and with no ability to reach you, we will usually open your role again and cast someone else.

Once the deadline date is reached for a certain batch of characters, we will no longer accept more auditions. Over the next week or so, we will go over the submitted auditions and make a casting decision.

CCC will automatically send you a message if you get cast. Additionally, we will send a private message to your CCC profile containing information on getting in touch and recording the character. If there are any complications preventing that, please respond to our private message as soon as possible and we will work out solutions with you.

Best of luck! I look forward to hearing your great auditions!

Role assigned to: Sarah Glyszon

Darnette is a 58-year-old Breton Paleontologist working out of the Gwylim University in High Rock as a fossil-hunting field researcher. She's been in this line of work for a long time and thus has become familiar with and strong amidst hardship and having to work alone. While initially a little gruff and rough around the edges, many will find her to be generally friendly once they get to know her. She's a no-nonsense, no-frills kind of gal who just wants to buckle down and get the job done. She's able to think on her feet and despite her age, can pack a mean punch as well. For players looking to recruit her into their Explorer's Guild (new guild added by Legacy of the Dragonborn that, well, explores Skyrim), they'll find her at her base camp around the Rift mineral pools, searching for fossils. Her accent should be North American.

Record all audition lines while referring to the notes below for each line and do one take of each line.

For the first audition line, someone who you've never met before is trying to get to know you. You'll give them the benefit of the doubt of being good and honest. Hopefully, they don't bother you. "Merethic" should be annunciated as "Mer - reh - thick".

For the second audition line, the Dragonborn just asked you about what fossil mining is like. It's always nice to meet someone who's interested in your work rather than just stuck in a basic and shallow level conversation. You'll try to give them a concise overview of the process. It's also fun to talk about your work as often you work alone and your buyers are more interested in the status of their buying than the actual science and history behind each find and the act of mining itself.

For the third audition line, you are searching around an area for a hostile that you were fighting but has now gone into hiding like a coward. You are confidently and loudly taunting him/her as you search for him/her; make sure to be yelling. You should also be a tad out of breath as you just got out of the fight.

  • Name's Darnette Lauven. My friends call me Darnie, but you can call me Dar. I'm a Merethic paleontologist and I'm doing what I do; dig for fossils.

  • It's pretty tedious work sometimes, especially with the bigger, more complete finds. You can get some fossils around ore or gem deposits, but the best place is at the fossil beds around this area. They're pretty damned productive!

  • Come out and face me you scab!
