FNAF: Dark Truth | Lost Generation Recast
Project Overview
FNAF: Dark Truth — Lost Generation Voice Casting
FNAF: Dark Truth is an original fan-made Five Nights at Freddy's animated series that reimagines the FNAF universe with its own characters, lore, mythology, and continuity.
This casting call is specifically for Redbear, Nightbear, and White Rabbit, three of the earliest animatronic characters in the series. They were created in 1958 and have an important role in the history of the Dark Truth universe, eventually becoming central figures in the story.
We're looking for voice actors who can give these characters distinct personalities and make them feel like genuine people rather than simply "animatronic voices."
What We're Looking For
Natural and believable performances are the biggest priority. These characters are American and originate from the late 1950s, so subtle period influence is welcome, but we are not looking for exaggerated vintage or aristocratic accents.
Redbear: Confident, charismatic, commanding, and eventually intimidating. His voice changes as his character becomes increasingly unstable.
Nightbear: Calm, intelligent, compassionate, and reassuring. He tends to remain composed even during tense situations.
White Rabbit: Gentle, friendly, reserved, and conflict-averse, but capable of becoming firm when protecting those he loves.
Southern, Appalachian, Midwestern, or neutral American accents are all welcome depending on the character and actor. What matters most is that the voice feels natural and fits the character.
Redbear's Performance
Redbear has two major vocal phases in the story. His earlier voice should feel warm, confident, and approachable. As his character deteriorates, that same voice should become darker and more threatening.
We're not looking for a generic "evil voice." Ideally, the performance should sound like the same person underneath the change.
Audition Information
Please submit the provided audition lines for the character you're interested in. Multiple takes with different emotional interpretations are welcome, but please keep them natural and avoid excessive vocal effects.
You do not need professional equipment to audition. Clear audio and a strong performance are more important than having expensive equipment.
Thank you for considering auditioning for FNAF: Dark Truth!
Note: Discord is a MAJOR requirement
(Five Nights at Freddy's: Dark Truth is a PG-13 non-paid voluntary work project.)
Redbear is confident, charismatic, and naturally commanding. His voice should be deep and masculine, with a natural Southern American accent preferred, though a neutral American accent is also welcome. He should sound approachable and genuine during his earlier years, with a subtle vintage quality fitting his 1958 origins.
As Redbear becomes more unstable and villainous, his voice should gradually become darker, rougher, and more intimidating while still sounding like the same character. Please avoid an exaggerated "evil voice."
- male adult
[Friendly] "Well, look at this place. Henry really outdid himself. I reckon folks are gonna love it."
[Concerned / defensive] "You stay behind me. Whatever's out there, it ain't getting anywhere near you."
[Angry / threatening] "I've given you enough chances. Now get out of my way before I make you."
Nightbear is calm, intelligent, and compassionate. His voice should be warm and reassuring, with clear American diction and a subtle vintage quality fitting his 1958 origins. A neutral American or slight Midwestern accent would work well.
He should sound articulate without coming across as overly formal or aristocratic. Even when angry, Nightbear tends to remain controlled, only becoming emotional when those he cares about are threatened.
- male adult
[Calm / reassuring] "There's no need to rush. We've got plenty of time to figure this out."
[Concerned] "Redbear, something's wrong. You haven't been yourself lately."
[Emotional / pleading] "You're my brother. I don't want to fight you."
White Rabbit is gentle, friendly, and somewhat reserved. His voice should be warm and approachable, with a natural American accent. A subtle Southern or Appalachian influence would be welcome, but is not required.
He generally avoids confrontation and speaks casually rather than formally. However, when someone he cares about is threatened, he should be capable of becoming surprisingly firm and serious.
- male adult
[Friendly / casual] "Hey, take it easy. Nobody's looking for a fight."
[Worried] "Redbear... something's happened to you. You don't have to do this."
[Firm / protective] "If you're going after my daughter, you're gonna have to get through me first."
