Project Overview

Welcome to the Fire Emblem Fates Support Conversation Fandub casting call!

INTRO
The aim of this project is to provide dubs for most (and eventually all!) of the support conversations within Fire Emblem Fates, across all 3 games, ranging from C-rank all the way up to S-rank. The project will be led by myself (taking the role of Male!Corrin), and a close friend who will be helping out with some of the editing.

As Fire Emblem Fates has an exceptionally large cast of characters, we will be starting off dubbing the conversations between the royal families of Hoshido and Nohr, with the characters listed below. Hopefully we will add more and more characters as the project progresses, but we don't want to overwhelm ourselves at first!

The deadline for auditioning for this project is 13th July, although this may be extended depending on the number of auditions and such.

RULES & REQUIREMENTS



GOOD QUALITY MICROPHONE


  • This probably goes without saying, but obviously the better quality the microphone you use in your audition, the better that is. Obviously you don't need professional quality equipment but recording through your phone mic isn't going to sound great.




EXPERIENCE
This project is open to absolutely everyone, regardless of voice acting experience or knowledge of the Fire Emblem series. Even if you've never played it before and just think it looks kinda cool, you're more than welcome to audition. Myself and the other organiser are both very passionate about the Fire Emblem series and would love to welcome new fans aboard. There are tons of resources on youtube and the Fire Emblem Wiki if you fancy familiarising yourself with the series before auditioning in order to get a better grasp of the character you're auditioning for.




"CANON VOICES"
Obviously within Fire Emblem Fates, most of the characters have lines that are officially voiced, however this isn't too much of a problem. Most of these are relegated to only a few lines of spoken dialogue anyway, and the tone of the voices for each character differs drastically anyway between regions and localisations. As long as you can convey the character well, it doesn't really matter whether or not you match their "canon" voice.




DISCORD
If cast, you must be willing to use Discord with the rest of the team. This is where we'll be doing all of our communication, on a server made specifically for this project. You'll be contacted with information on how to join the server once you're cast ;)

  • Casting Round 1

    Hi everyone, the deadline of the 13th July has passed, and the first round of casting is complete! All roles except Camilla have been cast, as there were a few people that displayed interest in auditioning for her but haven't had the chance, so I'll extend the deadline another 2 weeks to keep auditions coming in for Camilla. Big congratulations to everyone who has been cast so far, I'm really excited to start working with you all (even though I've worked with a fair few of you on other Fire Emblem projects). I'll PM you all with details of the project's discord server by the end of the weekend once it's all set up and ready. Congratulations once again, it truly was a hard decision as so many of the auditions were so great, but I can't wait to start dubbing with you all ^_^

  • General Update

    Hi everyone! First off, thank you all so much for the incredible response to this project, I did NOT expect this many fantastic auditions holy moly, they're genuinely all great. There's still a week left to audition so most roles will remain open to audition until then, with the exception of Sakura, which has been cast to CCC member Zwm, and Takumi, who has been cast to CCC member SilverSoul, so a big round of applause to them! Deadline for auditioning still stands at the 13th July, and if for whatever reason it needs to be pushed back further for certain characters then there'll be another update here. Thanks once again for your continued interest guys, see you soon :)

Azura is a princess of Nohr and Valla, who was captured and raised in Hoshido, similar to Corrin. A talented songstress, Azura is known for her captivating voice and reserved nature. She is extremely secretive about her past, and fears that revealing too much about herself will put both her birth, and adopted families in harm's way.

(Azura's lines will require a moderate amount of singing)

Corrin (Female)

Corrin is the supposedly the child of Hoshidan royalty, who was captured and raised among the royal family in Nohr at a young age. Corrin is a kind person who cares deeply for the people they love and will come to the aid of anyone who should ask them for it, and always willing to sacrifice herself if it means protecting both her birth and adoptive families.

As the game (and support conversations) progress, more and more is revealed about the mystery surrounding Corrin's past, and her true heritage.

  • Of course! Well, let's see... I
    lived in the Northern Fortress. It was pretty remote. Hmm... I wasn't
    allowed to go outside or have any friends. Thinking back, it was hard.
    However, at the time, I never felt lonely. The servants were like
    family, and my brothers and sisters visited all the time. Elise came by
    to hang out every single day

Ryoma

Ryoma is the eldest of the Hoshidan siblings, and the crown prince of Hoshido. A fearsome warrior, Ryoma exudes an aura of confidence and charisma everywhere he travels, making him extremely popular with Hoshidan citizens, as well as being an unmatched swordsman on the battlefield.

After reuniting with Corrin, Ryoma never fails to place his full trust in all of his siblings, believing that their strength in their family bonds can help them win the way against Nohr.

  • Perhaps, but remember that very
    hard substances are often brittle. Takumi's emotions are fragile. He
    needs to work on his mental fortitude. That said, I believe in him. I
    believe he has a promising future ahead.

    I...ah, Sakura. She's a gentle soul. Always worrying about others. My
    hope for her is that she can learn to be a bit more selfish. It would
    serve her well.

Hinoka is the eldest daughter of the Hoshidan royal family, and an extremely talented Pegasus Knight. Serious, determined, and unsophisticated, Hinoka has the spirit of a natural warrior and valiantly charges into battle with utter fearlessness and courage.

Her firey and brash nature can often get her into trouble, as evidenced by her numerous reckless attempts to try and save Corrin from their captivity in Nohr. She has never been able to forgive herself for allowing Corrin to be taken captive, causing her to become neglectful of her other siblings, with her support conversations being the first real bonding experience she has ever shared with them.

  • Indeed. He's always been my partner on the battlefield, after all. It's important that I show him my appreciation whenever I can

  • Well, I was still a very young
    girl... Ryoma and the others accepted her as Father's wife and our new
    mother, but I... I didn't do that very easily. As a result, I was cruel
    to her---more cruel than she could ever deserve

The youngest prince of Hoshido, Takumi often feels overshadowed by the love and success of his older brother, Ryoma. Loyal and patriotic as can be, he is an excellent archer, although can be incredibly cold and rude to those who he feels threaten his siblings, especially Corrin. Extremely brash and headstrong, Takumi's inferiority complex leads him into a lot of trouble when he doesn't think things through, something he must soon overcome in order to be a respected royal and military commander.

  • Yeah, I heard you. Do you need something? The thing is...I'm busy right now. Practicing. Can't you see?

  • Corrin! Your arm is too low.
    Raise it three degrees! Also, bend your right knee another six degrees.
    What are you doing? Never take your eyes off the target!

The youngest of the Hoshidan siblings, Sakura is a shy and timid healer, who is prone to stuttering when talking to other people due to her shyness. She tends to be very easily intimidated when confronted with unfamiliar situations existing outside her comfort zone.

Hidden beneath the folds of Sakura's meekness is a strong will, one that emerges when she is tried by situations that threaten to endanger the lives of her loved ones.

As the direct successor to the throne of Nohr, and the oldest prince, Xander was raised to become a fierce ruler. As such, he expresses complete patriotism to his country, cutting down all who stand in the way of Nohr's prosperity and well-being. As the crown prince of Nohr, Xander is loyal to his country, thus he doesn't have much of a choice, even if his heart tells him that it was wrong. He doesn't tolerate any traitors from Nohr, and is willing to kill them, including his own siblings.

  • Hm? Ah, Corrin. Thank you
    for your concern, but I haven't a moment to lose. I must keep Improving
    my sword technique for the glory of Nohr. As crown prince, it is my
    responsibility to be as strong as I can for our people.

  • ... You're too clever for your
    own good, Corrin. I have much on my mind, but I have no regrets about
    the decisions I've made. Like you, I am proceeding down the path I
    believe in, no matter the consequences.

  • I love you, truly. I've been
    meaning to tell you for so long... You are my precious wife now. It is
    my honor and duty to keep you safe, at all costs.

The oldest daughter of the Nohrian royal family, Camilla's most notable trait is her strong motherly instincts, ones that are very specifically directed towards her adoptive sibling, Corrin.  Camilla's fawning is not entirely reserved for Corrin alone; she is known to treat her younger siblings like children, referring to Leo as her "Baby Brother".

Camilla adopts a completely different persona when she interacts with others, where she is portrayed as a figure of maturity and elegance.  Camilla is also ruthless and bloodthirsty on the battlefield, deriving disturbing joy from striking down her enemies with wild abandon.

  • Are you sure? It seems like
    yesterday to me. I could just sit and stare at your cute little sleeping
    face for hours. C'mon! I promise I won't kiss your cheeks while you're
    sleeping. Oh, who am I kidding? I can't promise that!

  • I feel terrible about your
    wretched past. Being locked away for so long...unable to run wild with
    the other boys. Let alone experience life's simplest pleasures! Like
    splashing in the ocean...or playing knights and dragons with your
    friends. Father didn't allow that sort of thing, did he?

The youngest prince of Nohr, Leo is a studious and intelligent mage, who is always keen to improve his magical abilities in order to impress his older silblings, and their father. In spite of him being recognised as an intellectual genius, Leo is not blinded by his reputation to the point of arrogance. He is instead known to treat the people whom he engages with the utmost respect and civility, a fact that helps him to cultivate strong relationships with ease.

  • You? Wish to study? In the middle of a war? I'm happy to help, but why are you suddenly so serious about your education?

  • You're focusing too much on the
    enemies right in front of you. Rookie mistake. Do that, and you open the
    door for them to overtake you from behind. In this situation, try using
    a small, select group of soldiers to scout ahead. Guide them through
    here while keeping close watch on their formation. If you successfully
    reposition them like so, see how your battle options increase? You could
    even sneak around here and take out their commander with ease.

The youngest member of Nohr's royal family, Elise is a sweet, kind, and caring girl. A bright flower that has bloomed in the darkness of Nohr. She does not hesitate to show her affection to those she appreciates, and is often seen sneaking out of the castle to bring flowers and other such gifts to the poorer citizens of Nohr. Despite her often childish mannerisms and behaviors, Elise has demonstrated herself to be strongly selfless and courageous in the face of danger.

  • Waaah! Corrin! I-I'm not
    doing anything! Really. Not a thing. Or, I mean, I was just here to pick
    flowers. YEAH! A pretty girl picking pretty flowers...

  • FINE! You caught me. You're just
    too clever for my devious deceptions. The truth is, lately I've been
