Candyman analogue horror: Tape 2
Project Overview
This project is called the Forbidden file, an analogue horror style series based on the 1992 horror movie Candyman. It is an anthology style series with each episode telling different stories, but at the end of each video there is an animated short in the style of old 90's animated films. it will tell the tale of Candyman, before he became a monster.

The Candyman: I feel like this character needs no introduction but just in case ill describe him then ill sum up his role in the story, The Candyman is a popular horror character that is a bit different from the rest. The character of the Candyman is of a noble, sophisticated, educated and very elegant type of villain. He is a somewhat romantic figure, giving him a wounded hero type of quality. He is always aware of his loneliness/Isolation, cause the character is a tragic monster but also fragile. The character's voice needs to be rich, tremendously deep and resonate. But also full of sorrow and pain. Because the character is African American I want everyone to understand that there is a strong cultural significance to the character, and I want the voice actor to African American for reasons stated previously. I want you as the actor to understand that and to respect the role as people adore his representation. In this project I want the voice actor to have good range, cause the character will be represented in different mediums for example: A 90's styled cartoon where the character is and anthropomorphic big cat. So the character might sound different from silly cartoon to serious episodic retelling of his past.
Daniel Robitaille: This character is the same as the previous but before he was killed and turned into a demon/ghost thing. For this project I'm writing a prequel to the events of the 1st movie, and Daneil/Candyman is the main character, he also exists around the late 19th so 1890 and so on. His personality is of a ladies man, intelligent, charismatic, kind and giving to his people. Ambitious and talented he was able to climb the ladder of success in the art world, making him a desirable painter. But he is not perfect as he’s known to be stubborn and way too determined to get what he wants, even if it means dying for it. A dreamer that forgets that reality exists and there are consequences to his actions. He was also a man that was torn between two worlds, he was never able to fit in both places and no matter the amount of friends he had he would always feel alone. I need his voice to still have that tremendous quality but still sound as if being gentle and understanding. His speech, cadence and choice of words will indicate him being and educated and well taught man.

Silly cartoon Candyman: Liiiiittttllleee oooonnnnneeee?… Where are you little one?
Daneil Robitaille: Really? I've always been told that if the lion soon learned how to write, the stories will always glorify the hunter.
The Candyman: I will become the writing on the wall, the whispers in the class room. I will become rumor, and my condition will be a blessed one.
The red man: A wealthy man that used to live in Chicago, his status was similar to a king, he was the big man of the city and because of his status and power no one dared to cross him. He is a vile man that has garnered such a controversial persona, a direct representation of traditional patriarchy around that time. While having a despicable status he still had the charms of a businessman, more accurately a snake oil salesman. It has been a debate over the centuries if the red man ever truly loved his daughter, with how he treats her you’d think he’s a controlling man. That was just who he was. But some historians do agree that he cared a little, if he hadn’t then he wouldn’t have ordered that brutal attack on Daniel. At the end of the day he was still a family man, who tried his best to care for his daughter. But in caring too much he lost her. If I had to describe his voice he would sound deep and a little intense. He mostly sounds like the average 19th century middle aged American, he can also sound intense and matter of fact. He is the type of man to put on a mask to sell a performance, so that's why he sounds basic. He has a facade under all that wealth so he has to act sometimes. To help you a bit the actor's I could find that sound like him are Michael Madsen, a pinch of William Marshal.

Will is a shy cartoon cat who's mostly anxious all the time, he is the main character of the story. The one thing that calms him down is watching movies or playing games. He finds comfort in entertainment, but he also enjoys spending time with his friends. Will is a simple character but he is the main lead, what I'm looking for is an actor that can sound like a 3rd-4th grader. The kid sounds anxious but relaxed of course, he has a hight pitch in his voice but his voice is a bit dull. If I had to describe his voice he would kinda sound like a sad version of baby Simba from the lion king. Also the character will get into a fight at some point, if you can act as an angry cat, or just make angry cat noises that would be great.

For these two characters they will have the voice of a 3rd/4th grader of course, high pitched and loud as kids tend to sound. But each character sounds different so I hope you have the range to pull it off.
Chester: Chester is the more energetic cat in his friend group. He is a charismatic and loud cat, he's extroverted and loves doing crazy things for the sake of it. He's the average kid type but a little energetic and a little rebellious. He would sound very energetic, loud and excited all the time. But his tone is able to shift every time he doesn't get his way. he would sound like an average little boi but a little low pitched to make the characters sound different from one another.
Bub: the reason I added Bub here is because he doesn't really do as much as Will and Chester. I'm looking for someone that also has good range to act as separate characters. Unlike Chester. Bub is a more relaxed and relatable cat to have around. he is the more rational type and he always thinks before he acts, he mostly just sits around and says funny things to lighten the mood. He doesn't care for attention as much as Chester, he is just happy to be included. Bub would sound very relaxed and peaceful, and gentle. But he is no pushover so from time to time he sounds serious and firm
