Fate - Weight of my Sword - Fanfiction Audiobook
Project Overview
Hello, my name is Kouhai, and this is a passion project of mine I have decided on doing.
This will be a long term project and shall be a fun time, and I believe everyone should be able to take something out of it.
If you ever felt the need to fill in the gaps in Camelot's lore, this is the story for you.
STORY PREMISE
Weight of my Sword takes place in King Arthur's final years of ruling. The story explores the backstory of Arthur's (Artoria's) rule as King of Britian, filling in the gaps of previously unknown knowledge. It features an original character named Anor, who the reader/listener follows as a view into Artoria's last years as King. Returning cast of characters featuring Lancelot, Gawain, Bedivere, Tristan, Merlin, and more.
The planned audiobook so far will cover the first four chapters.
GUIDELINES
- This project will not feature any pay
- Must be committed, I can be flexible with the actors chosen, and I will always schedule a session in advance
- Must own a discord account
- All work will be conducted on the discord server, invitation will be sent out once all actors are choosen
- I wish I could extend the deadline further but I unfortunately do not have a paid account at the moment, however, feel free to always audition for the open roles. I will push the deadline back as far as I can if roles are not filled or new roles are added.
- Each chapter of the audiobook will become available to listen once finished on my youtube and an extra link for the direct download in the description
Thank you for your interest in the project.
All auditions will be taken into consideration.

New Roles for Audition
I have decided to make the audiobook one extra chapter at the moment so three certain characters can make an appearance. These new casting roles are as follows; Tristan (male) Mordred (female) Stella (female) Thank you for reading! Sincerely, Kouhai
Artoria is a strong-willed young woman who always speaks truthfully. She is courageous, determined, and set on protecting her country.
She constantly insists that she is a knight and king above all, and that her gender is of little importance to her and her role. She is resolute in following her own morals, regardless of the more viable, yet underhand, tactics being available.
(choose a tone) I did not join the war, because I thought Britian would lose... I did it because I wanted to avoid spilling rivers of blood. I am fighting for peace--not meaningless bloodshed and sacrifices.
(soft & relaxed) There are no regrets. If one can be proud of one’s life, one should not wish for another chance
(proud) Of what worth is a king who fails to protect the powerless
Anor is a young adult, roughly ranging from sixteen through twenty years old. Even though his age may seem so young, Anor has had his fair share of war.
His courage is impressive and his kind hearted nature is acknowledged by Artoria , however, his downfall comes from his un knowingness of how manipulative the people are in the world.
Anor can be shy when it comes to having the spotlight. He would rather serve his King, and not be a public face like Lancelot or Gawain.
(concerned) If the King chooses to accept the Anglo-Saxons offer... it will only bring damnation to our country.
(protective) I understand your view, but you must remember that being a Knight is a duty not only to the King, but too the people under that rule. Even if the King is wrong, you shouldn't follow blindly like some dog.
(optimistic) I trust in my King, even if it means my downfall. I know in my heart that Camelot will live on.
Mordred is extremely prideful and haughty, boasting herself to be equal or better than her father in the ways of ruling and swordsmanship, and believes only her status as the child of Morgan caused her to be rejected. She does not even think of failure, boasting overpowering words from a clear and unclouded voice that shows dignity befitting of a king. She abhors any discussion of her gender, displaying clear killing intent.
(soft) Good .... I'm one step closer to my father
(boasting and arrogant) What a pain. I'll mow you down like the rabble you are!
(reluctant, but truly means the words) I entrust you with my sword, honor, and life. I might just be a third-rate knight... but you're still okay with that?
Gawain earnestly performs all sorts of work. Even if that is, by any chance, debt collecting. Despite his serious character, he has no gloomy aspects and interacts with anyone in a sincere and polite fashion. While he may get enraged, since he never harbors negative emotions such as jealousy and malice, his attitude is refreshing no matter what kind of battlefield.
(happy) you wanted something other than bread this time... don't blame me. I am not the one who cooks for us.
(joking & defensive) on my name as the knight of the sun... I would never do such a thing.
(determined) Finally, it looks like it’s time for me to get serious.
Bedivere is exceptionally loyal to his king, putting her well-being above his own and even her own orders on her deathbed. He does not see serving as a knight as serving his country, but only serving his king because of the sole reason that she is the king
(exhausted) Even if I am defeated... my loyalty will not waver...
(bright & hopeful) I feel that this is connected to the future my King wished for
(formal-casual) Yes…I suppose that among the Round Table Knights, I am considered a veteran. I have served the King longer than anyone.
Lancelot cares for justice, honoring women, loathing evil. He is acknowledged as the "ideal knight" by King Arthur. When it comes down to it, Lancelot may be seen as the older brother of the round table, though, if angered, he can become the father of the group in a mere flick of switch.
(upset) Listen to me, do not ever make such a brash decision again: you could have gotten yourself killed!
(proud) Please proceed down the right path. I will serve you faithfully for as long as you do.
(friendly & competitive) Oh, Sir Gawain--would you care for a round of chess?
Agravain is calm, calculated and even cruel, always going for the best option at hand. He believes his purpose is to assist the King of Britain, nothing more and nothing less even if those ways are less than humane.
(cautious) In other words, I deal with the matters you would rather sweep under the rug.
(unamused) You complain as if there is a problem with the way our King rules. If you think you know so much, then why don't you rule?
Being a downer is a normal condition for Tristan or otherwise known as the 'Child of Sadness'. A narcissist slightly intoxicated with himself. However, since his circumstances are genuinely tragic, it's hard to call him out on it. Tristan is the type of person that perceives things tragically and ends up thinking that every mistake is his fault. His thoughts are calm, his tactics precise; yet where it concerns women, his reason is shaken, in a good way.
(sad yet poetic) Sadness will eventually pass... it will be shed by the wind and melt like light snow.
(hint of concern) Oh, My King, you seem exhausted--fatigued. You should take some rest.
(hopeful) My old homelands were once plagued by war. But one king, our king, sought to win back peace. I am... forever grateful for the dead... it is why I am here... serving
Merlin is a young man who is like a wind blowing on the grasslands. Before him, anyone would end up letting the tension out of their shoulders - a refreshingly righteous person. Still, due to seemingly being quite lacking in terms of seriousness and such together with a lack of the sense of responsibility, one can see that Merlin may also appear as a shady con man. A rhetorician who, even while perceiving things in an objective manner and accepting the cruelty of the world of humans, turns it into something bright.
(mysterious yet friendly) Am I good or evil? You are the one who decides that. I am simple - to humans who only go toward the future, I am like an unseen fairy, aren’t I?
(upbeat) Serving is a natural thing to me. After all, human spirit is nourishment for me.
(joking) you devil, you! N- No, I’m happy, I’m very happy
Morgan greatly hates her sister and possesses a great obsession for Mordred to take the throne from her. She changed greatly throughout her life from a "fine lady" to a "frightening thing" . She is described as if she had three women inside of her. Having started with the "innocence of a fairy", she became "as magnificent as a warrior maiden", and "then suddenly possessed the brutality of a witch." This all may be due to a similar burdening circumstances as Artoria due to their parentage as Morgan was the eldest, and rightful heir to the throne.
(mysterious, allurring) You speak as though you know what I am...? Do you really think you know, Knight of Camelot...? Do you know the truth of Uther Pendragon? Do you know the true wickedness that harbors within the family, of course not, someone as blinded as you, could never know.
(hint of concern) Knight of Camelot, why do you choose to follow your King so blindly like some dog? It would be a tragedy if something ill befell of you. Of course, you are bonded afterall... maybe that is why you choose to have such brash loyalty.
(humorous, amused) I am humbled by the fact you wish to indulge in these conversations, even though the consequences are... drastic... you are unique. Haha... haha, that is a good and bad thing.
Stella is a young woman who is very strong minded and intelligent. She is capable of holding her own and her skill in combat is remarkable enough to even garner the King of Britian's attention. Her honor acends above all as she wishes to always show her oppotents chivalry.
Being the ursurper's commander also comes with some drawbacks, but Stella knows what she fights for and no matter what side she is on, she feels she is right.
This character is reminiscent of Diarmuid from Fate Zero.
(boastful yet prideful) What must triumph here is the knight's path of chivalry that we champion
(upset) monsters who'd only disregard a knight's honor for personal gain... let the blood of those knights taint your dreams
As a narrator, you will be narrating the story, it is as simple as that.
Feel free to emotive and expressive. This role is quite extensive and alot of work is required, but the narrator does get breaks as sometimes, characters from the story narrate a chapter.
(easing tone) A soft morning breeze accompanied a gray sky. Many clouds flew over the horizon and all across washing out the sun. Camelot's white splendor now nothing more than bleached out, and thanks to the city's age, it was becoming more like the rest of the country -- dirtier.
(Choose a tone) Camelot was suppose to be the shinning beacon of what the entire kingdom strived to be, but from Anor's perspective, it was like an artist had splattered paint across a blank canvas and called it a masterpiece. Truly ironic considering how obscured the king was from the many problems plaguing the Kingdom.
(Choose a tone) A low growl emits from Gawain's lips as he got up as quickly as his body would allow him too. The man came up so fast that Lancelot thought Gawain pulled a muscle.
Lancelot had completely forgotten the fact he was still wrestling against Gawain, and due to this, he recieved a wicked suplex that knocked the air out of him.
