Project Overview
Familiar Faces is my first game project, and is still in extremely early development.
In regards to a great question I recieved, you do not need to be the ethnicity of the character you are auditioning for.
In the nation of Nethrin, there are five main cities. Otril, the capital and industrial hub, Walnuri, the government hub, Franzin, a sort of vacation spot for magical creatures, Purret, the educational city, and Gyuna, a massive city built in the entirety of underground Nethrin.
With so many cities, it wouldn't be easy to run into too many people you know, right? And how could a governmental overlord, a cult started by a teenager, a prince, two killers, and a witch and rogue power couple all tie together?
Familiar Faces: A Tie Together Game will answer all these questions and more.
I apologize for the bad description, but to type out the plot would be 20 paragraphs. Just trust me, it'll be cool!
Also, this job will be a paid job, and development will not start until late December or early 2017. This is all kind of just a round up so I can get a team of people together.
This is a crowd-funded, steampunk, heavily story driven game. I will be hiring voice actors and artists, and the crowd-funding will begin when I have some concept designs. Thank you for your interest!

Lance is a teenager with stockholm syndrome for the man that kidnapped him as a child. He's sarcastic and a bit cocky, but he knows when it's time to be serious. For the most part, he has a lighthearted tone.
*sarcastically* "No, no, that wouldn't be a problem at all! Except for the fact that everybody outside of Gyuna is actually equipped with what they need to kill us both."
"Merrigan, are we actually trusting her? She used to work for Crawger, how do we know she isn't just trying to take us down?"
*extremely serious* "Yes, I remember what you taught me." *pause, getting a response* "I don't want to because it could kill you, Merrigan! I'm not prepared to be on my own yet!"

Merrigan is a mysterious person who's never really elaborated on. A killer training an apprentice, he has a very low tone yet loud voice. He definitely sounds intimidating, not someone you would want to cross a line with.
*getting increasingly frustrated* "Lance, I know you're ready, this isn't nearly as hard as you're making it seem! Why don't you want to do this?"
"Oh Olix, how charming to see you again. How's that insanity of a cult working for you?"
"I trust her. If she was here to kill us or anything of the sort, I would know."

Alexander Crawger's android servant/maid. Very proper but silly when it comes to being alone with Alexander's children. For the most part, she's very loyal, and has a bright and optimistic personality. As the game goes on, this will change rapidly, so be prepared to play both a happy character and a darker one.
Any accent can be used, but I do imagine her with more of an Irish or British accent if you'd like to give that a try.
"Alright, Mr. Crawger, thank you for making me aware of this. I will be ready to pack my things when you require it. Do you need anymore assistance?"
"What Mr. Crawger doesn't know won't hurt him, child. I promise not to let him know you told me. I'll let you both stay up until ten for the next week!"
"Alexander and his idiotic ways. He expected me to do whatever he desired, I'm sick of being taken control of!"

Rel is an extremely quiet rogue, living in Franzin with Amietie. When he does speak, which he hates to do but has to frequently, he has a lower tone and is usually asked to speak up. He's extremely brave when it comes to protecting Amietie.
"Not a problem, sir. The jerekin berries are just now in season, so they're all over the forest. Amietie loves working with them."
"Why do you listen to him, Amietie? He's extremely corrupted. He poisoned his brother and wants his android to take over Ellion's position."
*nervously* "Don't film me, I beg you. These people hate me. I'd rather just sit in the corner and watch, she'll happily do it for me. Is that alright?"

Len is always willing to do what it takes to be a good student. He's very hard working, but does love to occasionaly stop and have fun with Nathaniel and Peony. He has a smooth voice, which he uses to his advantage by negotiating a lot.
*surprised* "Kopper? This is where you've been all this time?" *after a pause* "God, I'm gonna kill her!"
"I'd be honored to work for your team, Mr. Crawger. What exactly is this documentary going to be on?"
"The Children of Voltrex, a cult-turned-pandemic in the 25th century. Dedicated to turning our new generation into slaves for a false God."

Crawger's brother, only there for a while in game as he's on his deathbed. His voice is strict, but also weak from his sickness.
"I've told you several times already, Ellion. You have nothing to worry about, this kingdom will be in good hands when you're running it."
"I wasn't supposed to ruin the surprise, but I am extremely excited. Do you remember that wonderful android Epilia? You met her as a child, if I remember correctly."
"Ellion, I know your tone. It's alright. I know you are suspicious, but everything will be resolved in time. Now, will you go get me my medicine?"

Peony is a kind hearted and wild child who goes to an extremely prestigious school her father built. She isn't stuck up, and she doesn't bring up her father to berate people, but her clothing and her high up status show everyone that she's the daughter of Crawger. Her voice is nice to listen to, but she is a very loud and easily excited girl.
"It's lovely as always here, father. Nathaniel wanted to say hi as well! Have you heard anything new about Kopper?"
*angrily* "What did you do to them, you monster?! I don't care about your God, believing in something that nobody else believes in doesn't give you the right to kidnap and brainwash people!"
"Come on, Nathan! Father invited us both home for dinner this weekend, and I'm sure he has a surprise for us both!"

Alexander Crawger is the head of Otril, the capital of Nephrin. Though not officially in power, he's very widely known, recognized, and respected. His tone is always intimidating and demands respect, but he is not a rude person. I imagine his voice as comforting but strict, maybe like a grandfather. Alexander is in his early 40's.
Pictures will be given out when the project begins and I have concept art.
"This is not just a threat to all of Nethrin, this is a threat to our government, our God, and our way of life. This cult has been a mystery for too long, and we will find out what they are doing to our children and to our people."
*nervously* "Yes, Epilia, (pronounced Ep-eel-ee-uh) I did say that. There is some business with Ellion (pronounced Ell-ee-awn) but.. *rushed* You need not worried about it. Plans will be made and matters will be discussed accordingly."
"My darling Peony, how are you doing at HSS? They are treating my daughter well, I would hope." *pause, receiving a response* "I see, has Len told you anything new?"

Nathaniel is an amazing musical prodigy, sent to school by Crawger. He's a mild-mannered guy, always ready to go along with anything, especially if he can do it with Peony. He has a calm, even and smooth voice, and sounds very kind.
*Jokingly* "What are you gonna do, Len? Fight me for her? I bet you're too much of a chicken!"
*angrily* "You're twisted, Olix! How could you do this to these people? What kind of God lets you destroy people's lives?!"
"Peony, what has your father done? He threw Len into all this and now he wants to throw us in too."

Ellion is the prince of Walnuri. His father, Alexander's brother, is on his deathbed. He's a suspicious teenager, thinking his uncle wants to take over the kingdom so he can truly be in power. He's very smart, 19 years old, and has a kind voice. Everyone who meets him greatly enjoys his company.
"Father, I know I would make a fine ruler, it's my uncle that worries me. Alexander is the one who put you into power, I don't believe he thinks me capable."
*resentfully* "Yes, I remember Epilia. I also remember thinking that nature shouldn't be toyed with in such a way that a creature made of scrap can act like a human."
"I need to get away from here. Maybe Amietie (prounced either Am-ee-yet-ee or Eh-mee-et-ee, you can choose) is kind, but if she's affiliated with my cousin and his damned machine, she can only be so good in my eyes."
