Sorry for inactivity this month, I've had a busy schedule with my work and didn't have time to manage this page. Hopefully I'll make my decision for sound effects this week.
Evangelion Re-Take Fan Anime (Sound Engineers needed) [18+]
Project Overview
This a fan animated adaptation of Doujin of the same name by Studio Kimigabuchi. It is a 4-part miniseries and an unofficial sequel to The End of Evagelion from the original anime franchise.
Over course of last year I wrote and drew all 4 scripts and 4 storyboards and am ready to start casting voices.
The basic synopsis is that Shinji awakens just at the end of episode 16, as if everything after that was just a dream. With his knowledge of the future, Shinji sets out to avert everyone's fate, especially Asuka's. However, he is haunted by visions of Asuka from the canon series.
I'm looking for voice actors/actresses who can give a performance with a wide range of emotion and sound similar to the original cast of the English dub (Specifically Spike Spencer and Tiffany Grant), not the Netflix release. This project is non-profit so there will be no salary
This project will be traditionally animated, each episode is around 22 minutes. Selected users will recieve a private message containing a link to a file containing the scripts and storyboards, as well as instructions on organizing the files.

- MUST BE OVER 18 YRS OLD, THIS PROJECT CONTAINS MATURE THEMES
- RESPONSIVE TO MESSAGES (AT LEAST TWO DAYS)

After waking up at the end of episode 16, Shinji has finally grown a spine and sets out to protect those he cares about. He still has his emotional moments like in the original, but does not runaway anymore.
I'm looking an actor who sounds close to Spike Spencer's version of Shinji.
Shinji is shy and hypersensitive, but can now stand his ground.
(Shinji is curled up against a wall, feeling hopeless as the end of the world is near and he can't stop it. He silently voices his sense of hopelessness)
Even if I wanted to… I can’t pilot it. It’s no use.
(Shinji is talking to Kaji about his feeling for Asuka, and becomes frustrated by his confusion)
I just can’t stand it! I don’t know why, but she’s different from everyone else!
[Screams the top of his lungs in a moment of emotional stress] AAAHHHH!

This part is a duel role, there will be two of the same character and the same voice.
Asuka: This is re take version of Asuka that Shinji sets out to save. He successfully prevents her from losing her pride and also begins to win her heart.
Ghost Asuka: This is the Canon Asuka from the End of Evangelion. She is bitter towards Shinji for trying to kill her and then abandoning her for another Asuka.
Asuka is loud, brash, stuck up and egotistical, rubbing her accomplishments in peoples faces and easily provoked.
(Shinji, Asuka and Rei are in a change room get dressed in their school uniforms. Asuka is smirking and boasting about her victory)
Hmpf… Of course the ace EVA pilot is none other than me! Got that Shinji?! You have to be stable in order to be the ace. Fluxuating wildly like you… pathetic.
(Asuka is angry at Shinji's recent victory and shoves a pillow in his face before angrily pointing at him)
*Angry* That’s what I want to say, dammit! You were going easy on me during the sync tests, weren’t you!!
(Asuka is feeling uncomfortable with the news she has to break to Shinji)
I… I’m okay with it, really. If you don’t want to deal with it, then… I can take of the baby myself…

Rei is still her usual monotone emotionless self like in the original. However, over the course of the mini-series, she has her moments of anger and distress. Shinji rejecting her and distance only worsens her negative feelings self worth.
For example there is a moment when she tries to mimic Asuka to gain Shinji's attention (calling him an idiot), but still does it in a monotone voice.
Her voice is soft, quiet but monotone, except when under emotional stress.
(After Shinji awakens in hospital, Rei explains what had happened while he was unconscious)
You have been asleep ever since your return from the Sea of Dirac. You awoke today, on the 3rd day.
(Rei attempts to kiss Shinji, but he pushes her aside and walks off. Hurting Rei emotionally, who then collapses and suffers an emotional outburst)
*TEARING UP* Y-you… idiot… *HYPERVENTILATES* IDIOT!!!
(After Touji voice his lack of concern for Shinji, Rei angrily punches him in the face)
*ANGRY* Have you ever stopped to think just what he’s fighting for? Failing to protect what’s precious to you is worse than dying.

Major Misato becomes concerned and suspicious in the mini-series when she notices how much Shinji has changed after awakening, as well as how Ritsuko and the Commander are dealing with it. After discovering the truth about him, she becomes confused on whether to call him friend or foe.
While she is diligent and professional in her duties, she is a slob while off-duty.
(After Shinji rejects Rei, Misato meets her in the park and attempts to cheer her up)
Come on, you’re young and shit happens. I’m sure he didn’t mean what he said.
(After Shinji goes rogue and attempts to use Unit-01 to kill Kaworu, Misato tries to stop him)
Shinji what the hell are you doing!! Stop! I order you to stop! Do you realize what you’re doing?!
(Misato drops her gun in shock and is horrified to learn the truth about Shinji)

Ritsuko and Misato both spend most of the series discussing Shinji's current state after awakening. Ritsuko is the one to deduce the truth about Shinji and what this means for the future.
She is a workaholic, mostly calm, no non-sense and serious throughout the series, even when things get increasingly dark.
(Misato angrily berates Ritsuko and Gendo's choice to hide information from Shinji, until Ritsuko sets her straight)
You don’t get it do you. Telling him how Asuka survived would be no different to telling him, that his child was an angel.
But isn’t it amusing? In regards to love, Rei’s thought patterns are positively infantile.
(Ritsuko nonchalantly cradles a dying Gendo in her arms)
Indeed. Trying to be an actual father… it just doesn’t suit you.

Gendo is Shinji's distant father. Gendo plays a main part in moving the plot for Shinji into discovering his true identity, for his own personal gain.
His voice is deep, cold, chilling and restraint, except when he yells orders. A good example of his voice would be Geralt from The Witcher.
(After his son announces his wedding, Gendo coldly turns his back and walks away)
Do as you will. I leave for Matsushiro on that day. There can be no change in schedule… Therefore… I will send Fuyutsuki in my stead.
(When Shinji attempts to defy orders, Gendo angrily orders the control team to shut him down)

Maya play a large part in halfway in the mini series by revealing certain important information to Shinji. Even going as far as to help him escape, until discovering the truth about him.
She is still very sensitive and can get emotional in the heat of tragic moments.
(Maya is sitting at the computers observing a mecha battle and relaying whats happening to Misato)
The Angel is emitting an energy pulse! It’s focusing a beam on Unit-01’s emergence point!
(Maya breaks down after revealing information that could harm Shinji's life)
I… I can’t do this… anymore…
(After Kaji relays information to Maya, she angrily grabs him by the shirt and voices her frustration)
This… This is too much!! It all ends with that?! I can’t accept that! Nobody can!

Kaji and Maya try to uncover what the Commander and Seele are planning to do with Shinji in his current state and attempts to prevent it. He even helps Shinji understand his feelings towards Asuka.
Throughout most of the series, he is mostly laid-back and chill, even in the face of death.
[Charismatic-ally talking to Shinji about Misato] I’ll tell you one thing… Katsuragi was a real fox when she was your age. Enough to make Asuka pale in comparison.
[Not flinching after Maya lashes out at him] Asuka is dead. Just keep telling yourself that.

Toji is Shinji's classmate who is selected to be the fourth child. In this version, he is successfully saved from Unit-03 with only a broken arm by Shinji. He briefly in Part 1, but has a more major role in Part 4.
He is a stereotypical tough guy jock, but can get very serious and even cold when he tries to stop Rei from piloting Unit-00, believing it to be hopeless.
*Sarcastic* Well those two are certainly getting along.
[Wondering through a deserted hospital] Excuse me! I’m looking for my little sister!!
[Trying to stop Rei from getting to the cages] *Coldy* If you want to get to the cages… then kill me.
