Latest Updates

  • Casting 5/8/2024

Hello everyone! The auditions for this project ended roughly 2ish weeks ago, and I still received auditions after the casting was over. I actually had to close the casting call entirely.

And then I sat down to see how many auditions I had. I prefer not to look/listen to auditions until after everything is closed and everyone got their stuff in, that way I don't grow biased to an audition over time. And WOW. There's so many auditions that I felt overwhelmed and flipped over to my other projects that are currently running (Dracula, which was published on Thursday of last week, and The Phantom Airwaves, published on the 30th of this month).

I'm currently in the process of shortlisting VAs and hope to be done casting by the end of the day on 5/8/2024 (today as of sending this message).

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who auditioned. You've made my job really difficult. There's 6 roles to fill, and 140-something people to choose from. If you're not cast, I want to thank you for auditioning. There will be more paid work.

Please consider following my account and looking at my projects. I tend to do a project once every 2ish months. I pay my voice actors the money I get from Patreon for seasonal content, and (unfortunately) do not pay for other, hour-long content.

I do, however, pay more than just voice actors. I am looking for people with skills, such as musicians, social media people, copy-editors, and all other creative skills. Please consider reaching out to me if you fall into one of those categories, and we can discuss the possibility of working together (for pay).

I wish I could pay for everything I do at high amounts. Just know that all the money I make on this podcast (which I do make some money) goes directly into your pockets. And then, if there's stuff left over it goes to the podcast. And if there's stuff left over after that (which it doesn't) then I pay myself. Which has yet to happen XD.

My point in this massive textbook of a message is that your time is extremely valuable to me, and I try to compensate it however and whenever I can. Thank you for being awesome, and please consider auditioning or interacting with Retrospection Radio Theatre again.

    Much love <3

Payment total of 15$ for recording.

The middle-aged father of the Huxley family. Stirling is a hard worker who carries the weight of his family (and the world) on his shoulders. He does whatever he can for everyone else around him at the cost of himself.

Language:
  • english
Voice description:
  • general american (midwest)
  • male adult
  • (In argument with wife): So, you got mad at her for being a teenager and trying to use an escape instead of comforting her and helping her?

  • You weren’t blind, you just couldn’t see. Like on a clouded night when the moon is covered in shadow. The streetlamps are off, and everyone has gone to sleep. It’s so hard to see anything. Some of them might be harder to convince, but they all came out here for you.

  • I know, sweety, I know. I wish I could say it was going to be okay, but it won’t be. Life’s about to be really different. Your legs… They’re not going to get better.

  • english

  • female teen
  • general american (midwest)
  • It’s… They’re gone. The faceless men are gone. And the car? It’s gone, too. But why does it hurt? Why do my legs… My legs! My legs! There’s something crawling through my legs, it’s centipede-like entering my skin in my calf, twisting and curling around my legs, coming out of my thigh! Get out! Get out!

  • (practically sobbing): I really miss you, dad. Just last month you were picking me up from theatre. And now you’re gone.

  • (through tears): People already hate me. And now I’m just going to be crippled. I’ll never be able to run again, or move normally. I’m going to be even weirder than I was. I’ll never make friends again.

Paid: Flat Rate 15 USD
Role assigned to: GraceTrombs

This role is payed a flat rate of 15$.

Stella Huxley was raised with religion, and is now lost. She attends church sometimes, but doesn't really feel any connection to it. She's still impacted by religious trauma, which has developed into self doubt and imposter syndrome. After never seeking help for Post Partum Depression, she feels a strong detachment from her kids and life. Yet all she wants is to feel the way society has told her to (and not feel bad for it)

  • Why would you do drugs? I thought we raised you better! Why didn’t you come to us?

  • Stella: Carter?! Carter: Mom, I had a bad dream. Stella: Another one? Oh, I’m so sorry bug. Would you like to talk about it?

  • (trying to act like a mother) Emily? Emily, sweety. I’m sorry to wake you so early. But I’ve got to head into work earlier today and wanted to make sure – what are you doing on the floor?

Payment is a total of 15$.

Carter Huxley is the young boy within the family. He is highly intelligent and wise beyond his years. He doesn't get along with the other kids at school, and often finds himself very alone.

Anyone capable of doing a child's voice is welcome! Regardless of gender!

  • (on the brink of tears): Stop fighting! Everyone needs to stop fighting!

  • (Struggling to remember): Well, I… I think it was about… Dad was in it. And he told me something I really wanted to remember. Something that would help me remember. But I… I don’t remember what it was.

  • (Growing angry): If he killed Dad… Then, maybe he should die. Dad didn’t deserve to die, he was just trying to be kind to us. If we hadn’t gone to ice cream then he’d still be alive.

Ms. Oaks/Hostess/Ensemble Roles

Paid: Flat Rate 15 USD
Role assigned to: Mystic Waterz

Flat Rate of 15$ total.

An ensemble role that includes various female roles, such as the young adult teacher Ms. Oaks and a hostess at a restaurant.

Language:
  • english
Voice description:
  • female adult
  • general american (midwest)
  • Ms. Oaks (evil dream version): They always made fun of you for being so smart. You didn’t like playing like the other kids. I always thought you were a weird child. And now you’ve scared everyone else away from school.

  • Ms. Oaks: Mr. Huxley, you don’t realize what you’re doing. You’re not allowed to be here. This isn’t your place. And the more that you mess with your family like this, the harder it will be for them to move on. You’ll just keep tearing open the wounds, over and over again. And then they’ll never move on.

  • Hostess: It’s easier to find space for two than it is for four.

Vic/Coworker/Ensemble

Paid: Flat Rate 15 USD
Role assigned to: Mickey Jo

This role is payed a flat rate of 15$ total.

This role includes Stella's work fling, Vic. Along with Stirling's coworker and various male ensemble roles.

Language:
  • english
Voice description:
  • male adult
  • general american (midwest)
  • Vic: Well, I think it was a press stunt. There were so many camera crews. Even M-A-D-1 radio was there. They roped off a couple sections of the store and grabbed some footage of the two walking up and down the aisles. Then she and the mayor grabbed a couple of boxes of food and handed it to a few children that seemed to come out of nowhere.

  • Vic: No problem, Stella, I got you. Hey, how are you, though?

  • Coworker: C’mon, man. I’m tired, too, but we need to get on the same page about this.
