This is an open call for the second episode of our passion project, an abridged series of Dragon Ball GT. Goku Time is labor of love and a celebration of Dragon Ball as a whole. It's a comedy focused primarily on character driven humor that isn't reliant on series knowledge. We strive to have characters pay homage to the source material and exaggerate them in a way to poke fun while still feeling like the character we know and love.
Our first episode released early March of 2020. Since then, the project has hit many roadblocks with things such as the pandemic, actor life changes, copyright battles, and the like. But now, we're back in full swing and prepared to get the series back on track. We've actually gotten brand new source footage and spent a lot of time cleaning it up.

This casting call is specifically for characters we need for episode 2 as the script for it is completed and it has been partially recorded. There will be additional casting calls later on for characters in future episodes!
Knowledge of the Dragon Ball Franchise isn't necessary to audition or even land a role. If you are cast in a role, we will ask that you watch a number of episodes involving your character in order to get a sense for who you're impersonating and how to bring that original personality to life with our script. Ways to watch these episodes can be provided if need be.
The audition lines we've picked have links to the original lines pulled from the show. We ask that you reenact those lines to the best of your ability, but feel free to be creative with your delivery if you feel it better suits your voice. We want the voices to be recognizable to anyone who watched the original show, but they don't need to be exact carbon copies in most cases. If you have an idea for a character that sounds nothing like the original, please give it a try! We're open to any and all Ideas.
AN IMPORTANT NOTE ON ROLE PAYMENT:CCC standard payments shown per role are not final. Rates will be discussed privately, agreed upon, and paid before any recording. This project is paid for entirely out of personal pocket and is a non-profit endeavor, but we want this show and its voices to be perfect, so we're willing to pay for the right voices on our roles.

Hey all! First I just wanted to say thank you all so much for your auditions, we got a massive turnout and I couldn't be happier. We have officially reached the end of the allotted time for submissions and originally I was planning to cast all roles by the end of day, but due to my recent sickness I'm very behind in callbacks and the like.
Just for full transparency, I will be reaching out through DMs to anyone that's in the running for the role. If you don't get a message from me, either through CCC or Discord, in the next few days then I'm sorry to say you did not get the role. However, many of you put in very strong performances and I'll be sure to revisit them when I need additional roles down the line.
That being said, due to life keeping everyone busy, I'm not going to put an official date on final casting. I'm just going to update this page as its roles are cast. I'll make a final update announcement when all roles are cast.

Hey all! Sorry it was a bit delayed getting to the comments, I'm still not entirely recovered for being sick. However, I just finished up leaving comments on all the auditions posted as of now.
I'm going to reach out to folks I'd like to hear more from here on CCC so check your messages, please! We can exchange Discords if things go well.
That being said, all roles are still open and anyone is available to re-audition if they like, even if I don't reach out to you personally.
Important note for new auditions: Time is running out! I will be casting the roles this upcoming Tuesday, October 8th. Hey all! Thanks to those who re-auditioned as well as new folks who auditioned. I just wanted to let you all know I'm currently ill so my work on getting through all auditions and reaching out to actors for specific re-auditions has been slower than I'd like. You can all expect comments to be left on anything posted after my last batch of comments. I'll be doing this on Tuesday, October 1st. I will say: those who auditioned for Bulma may get DMs from me on the 1st, as I'll be coming to some of you for further re-audition lines.

Hey all! Sorry for getting all the comments posted so late, it's been a long day haha. Checking over all the submissions, I've left comments on every audition now. As I said before anyone is free to re-audition even if I didn't leave any notes for you.
Tomorrow I'm going to message some folks I'd like to hear more specific re-auditions from, it'll be later in the day as I need to scour through footage to find the right lines to hear auditions for. So please be on the look out for a message from me!

Goku has a lot of depth in GT. Trapped inside a kid's body, he revels in the challenge of his body's newfound limitations. But he still knows when to have fun and when to get serious. Goku is a silly dork, but one who loves his family. This role will see a lot of soft and tender voice work with his granddaughter, silly laughing, chuckling, and goofy antics, as well as loud screaming and yelling with his battles. Must be able to record yells with minimal peaking and echoing. This role is for more than just one episode and will lead to further work as we write more episodes and specials. If you land this role, expect frequent recordings and re-recordings as you are the sole focus of this show and will have the most lines (and the most yelling) by far. As this role is being recast, episode 1 lines will need to be recorded and replaced as well.

General Rilldo is the "Big Bad" of episode 2 and will remain so until his defeat in episode 3. He's a big, cocky, evil muscle man who acts as though he's in charge of all his minions when really his higher up, Dr. Myuu, is the true ruler. He's a blow hard with a big voice that is very proud of his SIGMA FORCE. He'll be a fun role to play and will be very enjoyable in the short amount of time he's on screen. It is important to know that this character does a fair amount of fighting so whoever lands this role should expect a lot of yelling. Must be able to record yells with minimal peaking and echoing.

An important anchor to the show, Bulma is one of the few level headed people in Dragon Ball, and even moreso in our show. Bulma is a super genius who has it all. Smartest woman on Earth, Richest woman on Earth, but it doesn't go to her head. Having adventured with Goku all throughout her life, she's now happily retired doing whatever she feels like. She's had multiple voice actors over the years and I've listed lines for both below. Take your pick and have fun with the delivery! The primary feel I'm looking for is a mature woman who's bold and confident. She's normally calm and collected, but can certainly fly off the handle if her crazy alien family acts up.

Gohan is Goku's oldest son. He's an adult now with a wife, a daughter, and a career. He's a family man and often plays the "straight man" archetype in conversation. His original voice is very iconic, for this role I'm looking for as similar of a voice to the original as possible, but don't let that deter you if you have a different take on the character! He's calm, in-control, very well read, and a very respectful person. But he's also a Saiyan! While he won't be yelling this episode, do expect to have to do some standard Dragon Ball screams in future episodes.
