Doki Doki Literature Dub

Doki Doki Literature Dub

Project Overview

Hiya! I'm SporksforDorks; welcome to the Literature Club! I'm so happy to have you here; after all, I don't enjoy being left hanging, you know?

But, that being said, feel free to audition! I only ask that you have a good quality microphone, a Discord, and a sense of pride and accomplishment a YouTube channel for me to advertise! (That last one isn't a requirement, I'd just prefer it if that were the case.)

The one major requirement is to know about the game before you audition. Spoiling things through this project would ruin the experience for you, so make sure you finish the game (both endings!) before you audition.

That's all! Thanks for listening~

The MC is the main character of Doki Doki Literature Club. He's the generic dating sim protagonist. His name is decided by the player; as such, he's seen as the blank slate for which the player to project themselves onto. However, that doesn't mean he doesn't have his own personality; he is generally kind and open-minded, except when talking to Sayori, where he "playfully" pokes fun at her.

  • I see an annoying girl running toward me from the distance, waving her arms in the air like she's totally oblivious to any attention she might draw to herself.

  • Now that we're back to the original topic of me joining the club, I bluntly come forth with what's been on my mind the entire time. "I never said I would join this club!"

  • What the hell...? What the hell?? Is this a nightmare? It... has to be. This isn't real. There's no way this can be real.

Sayori is the MC's childhood friend. She's a seemingly endless pool of happiness, and is always willing to help those around her. She enjoys bittersweet poems, ones where messages of both happiness and sadness are touched upon.

  • "Eeehhhhh, you say that like you were thinking about ignoring me! That's mean, [name]!"

  • "This is a good poem, [name]! Are you sure it's your first time?"

  • "Ahaha... Is this what it feels like... to get stabbed in the chest? I should write a poem about this..."

Natsuki is one of the possible love interests of the MC. She's arrogant and bossy on the surface, but if you take time to get to know her, she's cute and sweet. She enjoys cute poems, writing about things that use cute analogies to express knowledge of deeper topics.

  • "Seriously? You brought a boy? Way to kill the atmosphere."

  • "Well, obviously! You think I would enjoy something that didn't have a plot? I mean... Well, I guess I know what you're saying... A lot of the beginning is about simple things... Like there's a really funny chapter where they're obsessed with a guy at the ice cream shop... But that just helps you get to know the characters!"

  • "my dad would beat the shit out of me if he saw this."

Yuri is one of the possible love interests of the MC. She's quiet and soft-spoken on the surface, but when you get to know her, she becomes intense and confident. She enjoys almost exclusively sad poems, writing with flowery language and euphemisms.

  • "Welcome to the Literature Club. It's a pleasure meeting you."

  • "Well, I suppose I do get a little intense... as you'd put it. Uhuhu."

  • "Here's a suggestion. have you ever considered killing yourself?"

Monika is the president of the Literature Club; she's seen as perfect, and as such, the protagonist sees himself as unable to even approach her. (In other words, that's why she doesn't have a route in Doki Doki.) However, despite this, she's endlessly supportive of you and your endeavour into writing!

  • "Ah, [name]! What a nice surprise!"

  • "...Alright! Great job, [name]! I was going 'Ooh' in my head while reading it."

  • "Uh, can you hear me? ...Is it working? Yay, there you are! Hi again, [name]. Um... welcome to the Literature Club! Of course, we already know each other, because we were in the same class last year, and... um... Ahaha... You know, I guess we can just skip over that stuff at this point. After all, I'm not even talking to that person anymore, am I?"
