Delta5 - Indie Upcoming Sci-Fi Series (PILOT)
Project Overview
In a galaxy full of aliens, threats abound from all the deepest reaches of space. In response, warriors must arise to face these challenges, working under the United Multiplanetary Defense Confederation to protect the people of the universe. Trainee Captain Helios and his squad are hellbent on being the galaxy’s next great heroes, studying at the Royal Meridian defense academy as they work towards their goal of being the top squad by graduation in 3 years. Will Squad 5 outpace their competition and come out on top? Or, perhaps, will a new enemy arise that’ll threaten organic life as they know it?
Delta5 is Mechamation Studio's debut project, and has been in the works since 2021. This project is by artists, for artists; No matter where you are in your journey, whether this is your 1st time joining a studio or your 40th, we'd love to see what you've got! We are actively working to fund our pilot, with a kickstarter going up in a few short months alongside a teaser trailer. Our main 5 characters have voice actors, we've got soundtracks in the works, our SFX team is ready to go, and our character designs are finalized. All we need now are a few more voices, some animators, some background artists, and some publicity!
Delta5 is an animated series made for a 16+ audience. The show is not 18+; there are no explicit scenes, nor will there be excessive swearing. While there is minor gore/body horror, it is not a prominent aspect of the show and will not appear frequently (we find excessive gore undermines its impact).
The Plan
We've got a plot, 3 planned seasons of 15 episodes (aside from the pilot/episode 0), pilot models, the whole 9 yards; we're ready to get this thing up and running! We're working on dropping a teaser trailer alongside a Kickstarter very soon, so the need for animators and artists is urgent!
Future Payment
We are currently in the process of getting our Kickstarter up to fund our pilot, but until we are able to meet our goal, pre-pilot work (such as short voiceovers for social media content or promotions) will be unpaid. All work completed on the pilot will be paid.

What's an intense competitive setting without a rival, after all?
BACKGROUND
Kodai Falco is the Captain of trainee squad 1, and the main rival/anti-hero throughout the series. Son of High Commander Kalythar Falco, Kodai spent his entire life in his father’s shadow. Kodai is the product of an affair between Kalythar and a woman he never met, spending his entire life with his father, stepmother, and half-siblings. Kodai is well-aware that his stepmother and half-siblings resent him, seeing him as a constant reminder of his father’s infidelity. In an effort to make his father proud of him and finally live up to his family’s name and lineage (being the only son), Kodai has spent his whole life working twice as hard to make up for his biological shortcomings as a halfling. Kodai, despite his family’s wealth and power, is incredibly isolated and has difficulty socializing without coming off as hostile or rude. He views everyone around him as an obstacle, and develops an intense hatred towards Elio (Protagonist) shortly upon meeting him due to jealousy and fear of Elio usurping his spot as top ranked Captain.

Kenopsia Ephmeyralis is the protagonist's mother, and one of the two characters who need to be voiced in our upcoming teaser trailer!
BACKGROUND
Kenopsia's planet has been torn in two; literally. The ones who did the damage never bothered to fix their mistakes, instead opting to erase the planet's existence from the public knowledge entirely. Alone on a broken shard of her home, Kenopsia had been by herself for over 200 years, until an unfortunate human man accidentally crashed way off course and onto her little slice of the universe. After having a son with her human lover, Theo Aetos, Kenopsia raised their child for the first 12 years of his life before allowing him to work with his father on their family cargo ship.
Kenopsia's wise and elegant appearance betrays her sweet, naive nature, traits partly due to her extended period of isolation. Regardless, she loves her son and Theo, and although she is bound to her planet, she tries her best to support them from her place on her shard.

Background
Theo Aetos is the main character's father, and the Captain of the Aetos cargo ship. He is a proud Captain and a loving father, though he does fear for his son's future, given his not-quite-human nature. After his son decided life on the ship just wasn't for him, Theo did everything he could to support his son's new dream. Theo is deeply proud of his heritage and family, and has made sure to instill his son with the knowledge that while he may be a half-alien, he's also a Greek.

Background
Mikey is squad 1’s engineer, and an absolute nightmare to deal with. Mikey is arrogant, brash, loud, and will mouth off and shit talk just about anyone. As a roommate and neighbour, he’s a real piece of work, often blasting his music at night, loud enough for everyone in the dorms to hear. Mikey is good with machines, and spent most summers working at a garage during highschool. Outside of his work on ships, Mikey has a fascination with body modification, particularly with regards to biomechanical enhancement.

BACKGROUND
Dallas Sandtreader is the Captain of Squad 7 and a major ally to the main cast, Squad 5. Dallas approaches his role with respect for his team and kindness towards those ranked below him. He is charismatic, approachable, and fairly laid back. Dallas has a history with Squad 5's First Officer, Rosita Arjune-Sanchez, having dated her in their last year of high school. They broke up on good terms and harbour no negative feelings towards one another over their breakup. Dallas is currently dating Squad 7 First Officer, Orchid. Dallas gets along well with Squad 5's Captain Elio (albeit, Elio is somewhat suspicious of him after finding out about his history with Rosita for a while), and they often work together to succeed at multi-squad tests and examinations. Dallas often has good advice to offer and is always open to a friendly sparring match between allies. He is weary of Squad 1's captain, Kodai, and actively supports Elio against him.

Background
As a Trakonion, Florian can shapeshift as he pleases. Throughout his childhood, Florian had difficulty grasping the concept of “himself” as an individual person, instead opting to mimic other people both in appearance and personality. Though he has grown comfortable in his own skin and with himself, he is still an excellent manipulator. Florian frequently alters his appearance on a regular basis, although he most often presents himself as a 6'2 humanoid male with semi-long hair and a lean physique. Florian is excellent at mirroring others, often resulting in him coming across as extremely likeable and approachable. Paired with his ability to fully shapeshift, Florian is a force to be reckoned with; he can easily infiltrate rival squads and play himself off as others convincingly. Florian presents as fairly laid back and relaxed, often acting as the more reasonable one on his squad.

BACKGROUND
Acting as the head of the United Multiplanetary Defense Confederation, High Commander Kalythar Falco is a confident, charismatic Yvangeloid who has headed all government affairs for the past 20 years. Though generally accepted as a respectable and fair commander, Kalythar is directly responsible for a multitude of highly classified military atrocities, opting to cover up his crimes against the galaxy rather than solving the issues they've caused effectively.
After one of his worst mistakes escapes containment and begins devouring soldiers en masse, Kalythar makes the decision to cut a year of the Royal Meridian Defense Academy's military training programs, in an effort to get more soldiers on deck to try and combat the situation.
Kalythar is Kodai Falco's father, having had him with a woman of another species. Though he does love his son, his rather harsh opinion of halflings often clouds the way he sees him, and colours how he treats him; Kalythar raised Kodai under the belief that, as a halfling, society would never accept him, thus encouraging him to keep his true genealogy under wraps and pretend he was, instead, of one species. He places extreme pressure on his son to live up to his legacy.

BACKGROUND
Roxanna is the mother of Rosita, Catalina, Suzanna, Aaron, and the rest of the Arjune-Sanchez siblings. She was once a great captain, now serving as a member of the UMDC’s high council. Her husband, also a former-captain, runs the restaurant he purchased after retirement, however she has no interest in working in the food industry alongside him. Roxanna is of a thousand-year family legacy, and as such, often pressures her children to continue it. She is particularly involved with Rosita, often to the detriment and neglect of her other children. Having been abused herself as a child, Roxanna often unintentionally inflicts unnecessary pressure and strain on Rosita, despite vowing not to be as poor of a parent as her own mother was. Roxanna had concerns about having more than 1-2 children, for fear of favouritism. When she and Milo attempted to conceive externally through an “artificial gestation” company, however, a critical error resulted in all 14 successful embryos growing to term and needing either termination or release from stasis over the span of several years. Given the cost of the initial procedure and the financial stability Roxanna and Milo had that would allow them to sustainably raise all of these children, they agreed to take on the task of caring for all 14 of their children, though not all at once. While her husband came from a large family himself and is an excellent father, Roxanna found she often succumbed to the environment she was raised in, having little relationship with some of her children, and strained relationships with others. Though her circumstances frustrate her, she does love all of her children, only choosing Rosita to focus on as Rosita reminds her of herself in her youth.
