Decide Before We Crash is a short story that I created earlier this year for my Intro to Fiction Writing class. It takes inspiration from James Gunn's DC show Peacemaker bringing a whole universe of diverse characters to life... and conflict.
The story follows a secretly married couple named Ghostwind and JC who are private investigators trying to take down a group of four criminal scammers: Boss, Swan, Z, and Foxglove. This mission and investigation has been happening for months which allowed Ghostwind and JC to gain trust from their supposed 'Boss' and 'teammates'. While the mission is starting to wrap up, Ghostwind and JC decide to fake out a secret slow-burn situationship and distract the group at a get-together to bring them to justice.
My goal for this project is to upload it to YouTube in hopes of it going viral and creating a fan base. If all goes well and income comes in, all voice actors chosen for this project will be paid based on voice part and performance. And if it goes really well, voice actors will be asked to take on their roles again for either a sequel, prequel or spin-off.
This project will be 17+ for the FEMALE roles ONLY. Other roles (MALE and NARRATOR) you must be at least 18 years old or older. No exceptions.

Hello everyone,
As we are nearing a wrap up for voice auditions, starting tomorrow I will start contacting people who are shortlisted.
I will continue to listen to incoming auditions so keep those coming in! And I will also shortlist more if I find them considerably fit for the voice role they’ve auditioned for.
Shortlisted peeps: You are to get back to as soon as you can if you are still interested in this project. I will then send you an additional 1-3 voice lines that you will send back via Discord/Email by the end of the day on the 18th. (That gives you roughly 2 days.)
Once again, final picks will be announced day of or possibly 1-2 days after (the 19th or 20th.)
I want to thank everyone who has auditioned so far! Even if you aren’t picked for this project, don’t be discouraged as I’m an aspiring creative director with big ideas so the next project is just around the corner. :)

The story itself is categorized as drama, romance, and crime from where it starts and where it ends.
The whole story is 5,240 words (may slightly change after revision) or approximately 22 pages. Of course not all those words will be read by you, but a good majority of it.

Seven sharp and quick knocks; a code amongst coworkers that was never really agreed on, but somehow understood. It was around seven in the morning when Johnny Cross stood at Ghostwind’s front steps.
Once JC slammed the door shut, Ghostwind grabbed at his chest and sputtered out a gasp. Air wouldn’t come and it wouldn’t stay either. He shut his eyes tightly, trying desperately to breathe through his nose rather than his mouth. His legs gave out and his head hit the couch cushion. Then, he screamed into it.
Across the room, Ghostwind wasn’t laughing either. He was watching. Not the group, but the exits and windows all around. Foxglove’s computer was still propped open. The screen goes bright red with an animated bow and arrow shooting across the screen. His gaze flicked once to the clock. Right on time.

Echo “Ghostwind” Miller is a 27-year-old private investigator. He is from the UK and moved to the US as soon as he turned 18 to start a new life. After a few years settling in, he meets his husband Roy “Johnny Cross (JC)” Fullman. Ghostwind is aloof, he likes keeping his distance, he doesn’t like crowds and he really doesn’t like sunlight (no he’s not a vampire).
Brief appearance description: He has shaggy black hair and always wear black. A key part to him is that he has a full skeleton skull and neck bone tattooed on his face toward just below the neck.
This story is about him faking a situationship with his husband in order to bring a gang of criminals behind bars.

Roy "Johnny Cross" Fullman (now Miller) is the 30-year-old loving husband of Ghostwind. Unlike his husband, he is more of a happy-go-lucky guy, golden retriever energy, and soft. Before Ghostwind, he was studying criminal law. He met Ghostwind during a mission as amateur private investigators. The rest is history.

Chris "Boss" Walker is the boss of a criminal gang/scammers hence his name. He's a wanted man by federal agents in whom Ghostwind and JC work closely with, but he is not aware of this at all. Although he is smart enough to hide secret cameras in Ghostwind's home, he's not smart enough to install mics too. He is this big, burly man with some gruff in his voice as if he's yelled a handful of times, and he probably has.

(Ordering/demanding) "On your left, JC– No, no! The other left!"
(Explaining/strict) "Look JC, you both work for me. I could give less of a shit if you are friends, dating or even married just as long as you don’t fuck up this group." ... "You can probably be replaced. But Ghostwind? Hell no. I need him."
(Muttering) [To Swan] "They have some stuff going on, let them work it out."

Charlotte "Swan" Zillmann is the Boss' right-hand woman who specializes in gun weaponry for the most part. She had been stealing and shoplifting ever since she was young. She's very observant although sometimes it may fail her.

Zira "Z" Mirren is part of the criminal scammers. While her not-so legal occupation requires her to take on security guards with her tough build, she's just a teddy bear underneath. Her fate could've gone so much better with her warm personality, yet this was the life that she chose for herself. Because she is sort of like a body builder, and she works out regularly, her voice is more on the medium-to-lower side in pitch.
