Project Overview
What would you do if you realized a stranger had been living as your father for the past year…?
Dear Kya is an animated fantasy drama revolving around a shapeshifter who finds himself impersonating a little girl’s father to cover up the mistakes he’s made. This short film is a sophomore film being produced at the School of Visual Arts in New York.

Lead Role, 2-3 minutes of narration
- masculine, any accent, middle aged. Lockhart is more a more reserved, somber, and less confident person. If in doubt, go for a sadder tone of voice.
- looking for a more grounded, realistic, subtle, emotional performance (ex. similar to the voice acting in Scavengers Reign https://youtu.be/NWQH8cMpWTU?si=KzyhkRFd6-SUchQY )
- In the story, Lockhart is narrating a letter he wrote to Kya explaining how/why he replaced her father. I’m imagining he sounds somber, cornered, and ashamed of his actions. Looking for a voice that sounds more unconfident and unsure of himself.

Kya is an observant, anxious young girl (8-12). Only one line needed, as well as a good, horrifying attack scream.
