Dear Father Christmas

Dear Father Christmas

Project Overview

A short festive audio drama about a young couple, separated during the holiday season by circumstances, and a mysterious visitor...

DELL STUDIOS PRODUCTIONS is looking for two actors to take on parts in their 2026 Christmas release. Please note that these roles are not paid as this project is not for profit. The roles will be recorded remotely in Autumn 2026, so please ensure that you are able to do this before submitting an audition. All that is required for remote recording is a quiet space with minimal echo, and a device that can capture good quality audio. Looking forward to hearing your recordings soon! :)

Old man, visitor in the pub, a certain figure of festive folklore and legend running a last minute errand. Soft spoken, gentle, kind and optimistic, sees the best in people. Slightly mysterious, but easy to talk to and get on with.

  • No need to apologise. It certainly is rather quiet, isn’t it? I thought Christmas Eve would be a busy sort of day in an establishment like this.

  • Well, your Granddad is a man of excellent taste… I do apologise, I don’t believe I ever caught your name.

  • Christmas should also be about hope. A light in the darkness, joy in the bleak midwinter. I see that in you.

  • (Shouting to a character in another room) One second! Stay in the hall, don’t come in!

  • (Mildly amused) Yes, she never could sit still, my sister. My mother used to threaten to sew her socks into the sofa so that she couldn’t fidget.

  • Well, I tried my best. I still say, as I have for a good few years now, that if you really want to stand a chance of getting exactly what you want, you should write to Father Christmas like you used to. He always delivers.
