Monkie Kid Visual Novel
Project Overview
- What is this?
A visual novel- specifically a dating simulator, based on the animated series "Monkie Kid" by Flying Bark Productions and Lego. This visual novel does not have a specific storyline or theme yet. The reason for this is because I want fans to come together and build this visual novel from the ground up.
The visual novel will include a pronoun options, different routes, multiple endings, CG scenes, a gallery and, if possible, voice acting! - Requirements:
You have to be 18 or older to participate in this project. This rule is in place to prevent any drama within or outside the group and to keep everyone safe. I will be doing background checks and I will not hesitate to kick out people who lie about their age. The visual novel will still be open for everyone.
Please be respectful of others. I want this group to be a safe place for everyone where we as fans can come together to create something! So, bullying in or outside of the group will not at all be tolerated. If any news of discrimination or harassment comes up, you will be kicked off the team.
For my coders: We will be using Atom as our coding program. So, download it to your computer and install Teletype for Atom. I am more than willing to help you with the instillation process, though if you are comfortable with Github, feel free to ask me for the link to the repository and work with us that way.
If we do add voice acting, please make sure that you are in a quiet environment and are comfortable with being loud. I will be giving voice directions and sometimes that will require you to be loud also, make sure that you do not have an insane amount of noise background.
- A few final notes:
1.) I'm a huge fan of this franchise and I really want this project to reach all the other fans of this lovely franchise! Each role will have suggestions for how the visual novel should look as I have in mind for each character and the project as a whole, but you will have the complete freedom to make things that you see fit as I am more than open to accepting suggestions and adapting to new views!
2.) For the voice actors, anything written in red is not meant to be read when auditioning for your part.
3.) Discord is highly recommended as it will be our way of staying connected with the group, organize group rehearsals/discussions. -

This role is responsible for working along fellow coders. You will be coding in images, GUI and voices as well as making sure that the code runs smoothly.

This role is responsible for coloring the character sprites. You will only be responsible for coloring and shading the characters, not the backgrounds nor the GUI.

This role is responsible for creating the music that will play on both the title screen and the credits. Each one will be a different track, meaning you are required to produce two tracks at the minimum.

This role is responsible for creating the tracks that will be playing in the background of the game. You will only be required to make a small handful of songs as there will be other musicians to take half of the load.

This role is responsible for creating the character's themes. These themes will play when a certain character is on screen. You will only be required to make character themes for the love interests, though you are more than welcome to create themes for other characters.
