Project Overview

Hello everyone! I'm BulbaWhat98, and welcome to Danganronpa Maple Retribution! This project isn't a fan game, but is instead a sprite animated series using MapleStory sprites in a fanmade Danganronpa series. 16 Ultimates find themselves trapped in a mysterious area, forced to kill each other in order. Will they make it out alive, or will death come sooner for these Ultimates than it should?

There are a few important things I'd like to mention below:

. All of the Voice Actors have been casted! I'm looking for sprite animators, writers, and artists! I'm sorry for anyone who was thinking of voice acting for this series but were too late to join

. Like I said, this isn't a Danganronpa fan-game. It's a Danganronpa fanmade series using MapleStory sprites

. Don't expect the series to look just like it came out of danganronpa like other danganronpa fanmade projects. 

. You can audition for as many roles as you'd like

. I might potentially have every line of dialogue be voice acted, and potentially might have characters lips move up and down like an anime

. The characters might change over time (designs, personality, role in the story, etc)

  • Series has been Cancelled

    Hey guys, I have some unfortunate news. After putting the series on hold and thinking about it, I've decided to officially cancel Danganronpa: Maple Retribution. My motivation to work on the series is completely gone, and it's no longer fun for me. I've also decided that I'd rather just focus on just hosting collabs on my channel from now on, as well as spend my time on other things. I'm very sorry about this guys, especially to the people who volunteered or were commissioned to work on this series. To anyone who I commissioned to work on something for the series, keep the money.   • Toshi and Kurumi have been casted

    Toshi and Kurumi have new voice actors that were casted! All the voice acting roles are closed now.

  • New Toshi VA Needed

    I have some unfortunate news. Because of real life events, Zaxtrem, the person who was casted as Toshi Ozuka, the Ultimate Doctor, will no longer be able to voice act as him. Zaxtrem was able to submit all of his lines for the prologue early, so his voice will be in the prologue, but after that Toshi will need a different voice. If you interested in auditioning for Toshi, let me know. Those who have already been casted as a role are welcome to voice act a second role and audition for Toshi. The casting call is open again to show what lines to audition for and what he should sound like.

  • The Paid Roles

    I wanted to give an update regarding the paid roles. I was offering way too much money for the roles that were open, as I need a lot of that money for college and anything else in real life. And this is a passion project, so I shouldn't be spending so much money on it. I can now only pay $50 at max for the intro, outro, cutscenes, panic attack fights, and punishments/executions. Volunteering for these roles would be highly appreciate if anyone is interested

  • Casting Call is now Closed

    Auditions for the casting call are officially closed. Most of the roles have been casted. For the ones that haven't been casted, I decided that I'm going to try to find people on Discord who'll be willing to apply for them, mainly the Fighting and Execution Sprite Animator roles since they aren't needed until the end of each chapter. Ultimate Sprite Animator

Mid range voice, and should sound serious when things get heated in the investigations and trials, just like any other Danganronpa protagonist.

He is the main protagonist of the series. He is a kind person, but is also a bit of a hermit. He spends a lot of his time animating with sprites, and doesn't really talk to people that often. But he decides to open up more with everyone since they're all in the same predicament. He's determined to make sure the truth of the cases are found, and that everyone can live.

Low range voice that is calm. Hubert from Fire Emblem Three Houses is an example of the kind of voice I'm looking for

He has been serving his mistress for his whole life, dedicating his deeds to her and no one else. Despite being away from his mistress in the killing game, he still serves the other Ultimates like he has with his mistress, sort of similar to kirumi Togo from Danganronpa V3

Ultimate Multiple Personality

She suffers from Multiple Personality Disorder, which causes her to change her personality depending on the situation. Her cheerful side is her main personality. She seems content with having multiple personalities, but can't control them as well as she'd like.

Ultimate Lifegaurd

Deva loves handsome guys, and became a lifeguard so that she could see all the handsome guys shirtless and get in contact with their bodies when rescuing them from drowning. She She's a very cheerful person and gets excited a lot, kind of like Ibuki Midori from Danganronpa 2

Ultimate Doctor

Low to Mid range voice. Toshio Ozaki from Shiki is an example of what I'd like him to sound like

He is knowledgeable of various diseases, medicine, conditions, etc. He treats the other Ultimates whenever they get hurt, and does an examination on the dead bodies to get a better understanding of how they were killed. He gets very frustrated when he can't save somebody's life

  • I'll do an examination on the body, and hopefully we'll get a better understanding on how he was killed.

  • I noticed a large bump on his head after examining the body. It looks as if something large and round had struck him

Ultimate Gunsmith

Iwa has been illegally making, selling, and repairing fire arms to people. He has somehow been able to bring pistols into airplanes even when his items are scanned. He also likes to mess with Kotegawa a bit, since she's a police officer who can't arrest him because of the killing game

Low to Mid range voice

Robin is incredibly skilled with a bow, and has hunted down hundreds of animals for her family. She's not very proud of hunting them though, but her family forced her to do it. She's quite intelligent

  • I'd say that shooting an arrow is more difficult than shooting a gun. With a gun, you aim and shoot, while a bow and arrow does the same thing but with the extra step of pulling the string. 

  • I killed so many innocent animals. I know my family forced me to do it, but still.

  • The body must've been moved from its original location. That would explain the blood marks in the hallway.

Omega believes that God is the true evil, refusing to help others in need despite having the ability to do so. She instead worships the devil because of his duty to punish sinners, believing only the devil is bringing justice in the world

Monokuma is the sadistic headmaster that's trapped everyone in the killing game! The voice that sounds the most similar to Monokuma's official voice gets the role
