Danganronpa: Eternal Endings
Project Overview
After each dying in horrific accidents, 17 people from all across the world and time find themselves trapped in a strange purgatory like realm with only one way to free their trapped souls: spiritual murder.
What is Eternal Endings?
Danganronpa Eternal Endings is an in progress playable 3D Danganronpa fan game that's prologue is set to release early-mid 2023. It's set in a completely alternate universe to the canon timeline with completely new characters, a different ultimate system, and tons of new lore to discover. It's currently being developed by 1 person: Me! StephenW313. I also made the fangan Danganronpa Rocky Restarts, which made it to the chapter 2 release before I actually cancelled it to work on this much more ambitious project. I'm currently at a stage in developing the prologue where all that's really left is to add everything in engine, which means I'll need voices for the characters.
As soon as the cast is chosen, I'll immediately send all the voice lines needed for the prologue so you shouldn't go too long without lines to voice. How much of the game will be voiced hasn't been decided yet, but I know that I'll at least be going for the small voice snippets, most CGs being voiced, and nonstop debates being voiced in trials. Trials will likely not be voiced in their entirety, but I know some VAs really like when they are so that's open to change.
What is applying for a role like?
I've given a small bio on each character so you can get to know the roles slightly better and a little description on how I imagine their voice. These voice descriptions are how I imagine them in my head, but if you feel you have a voice that matches the character well but doesn't match my description, feel free to give it a shot, I might like it better! I'll appreciate any applications given, so please don't be offended if I don't choose your voice for a character.
You'll also notice that I'll give a voice reference for each character. These are entirely just so I can show you directly what I have in my mind if my description isn't cutting it, I'm not amazing at describing voices or vocal terminology, so these are to give you a starting point to base your audition on. These are also all not 100% accurate, as you'll see, with me stating that some of them would have minor tweaks to fit the character fully, to being entirely me just showing the range I imagine and nothing else.
Finally, I'll also state where the character is from and what accent they'd have. In universe, the Eternal Endings characters are all speaking their native language and being automatically translated to each other on the fly as if they're all speaking the same language (In the protagonist's case, English). Because of this, characters that would otherwise speak a language other than English has an in universe reason for not having an accent, so these are not necessary accents at all. Other characters that speak English normally but with an accent (The canadian, the brit, the kiwi, etc) don't have an in universe reason for losing the accent, so I'd really love to see them voiced with their respective accents (especially the kiwi, she's the protagonist so not having the accent would make the least sense!), but it's still not necessary. I feel like asking for free work and also requiring accents would be asking quite a lot, but if you can do the accent, please do! It'd add huge bonus points to your audition!
I also request that you don't attempt an accent if it would be offensive to do so, please use your own judgement on this.
Speaking of bonus points, if you fit the character in some way, please state so in the application! If you're the same ethnicity as the character, say so! If you're trans the character is trans, say so! If you're a singer and the character sings, say so! And so on. Anything that gives you more authenticity in voicing the character would absolutely boost your chances.
I've also included pronunciations info on the character's names I think might need it. It's really hard to find good sources on some of these so if a pronunciation I give is wrong, please tell me!
Terms
Please include your discord tag in your addition, as that's where I plan on doing a lot of the communication with asking for and receiving lines.
I don't plan on giving a lot of info about plot or characters away (You'd learn what's needed to voice the character with context of course) but please keep everything learned strictly secret.

Krystal is the protagonist of this story.
PERSONALITY
Krystal is a bit of a crazy cat lady, largely keeping to herself and her odd interests. She's not necessarily socially inept, she can't be when her job involves helping people grieve, though she definitely has her awkward moments outside of work.
I should note is that Krystal is quite rambly, she doesn't seem to notice when her clarification makes things worse and so can go on strange tangents. She can also be prone to emotional outbursts.
VOICE
Krystal speaks softly, especially when rambling where she'd even start to mumble. I imagine her having a lower, slower, more breathy voice that shows her maturity. (She's 31 years old. Not old by any means, but she shouldn't sound young)
A voice reference would be Caitlin Doughty of Ask A Mortician, who inspired the character from the beginning! Of course, with Krystal's more soft tone and a possible kiwi accent.

PERSONALITY
Fernando, above all else, is a people pleaser that hates to let down others. He's a loyal friend, though his personality can sometimes seem forced with just how agreeable he is. Fernando truly goes with the flow of life, avoiding negativity and putting up with whatever's thrown at him with hardly a reaction, though a part of that is certainly due to his natural obliviousness.
VOICE
Fernando's voice is upbeat, ranging from low to medium. Being a fairly relaxed person, his voice would match so even though he might be a hyper positive, obnoxious gym bro, I don't think he should sound "intense" or loud. Having a relaxed voice, I think his sentences would often end more lower and with light vocal fry, like he's even forcing the chill sound.
A voice reference for him would be Mike from Until Dawn, played by Brett Dalton. His range is pretty much exactly what I imagine for Fernando!

PERSONALITY
Vivian has a bubbly, sweet demeanor that makes her seem like a reliable person to be around. She's extremely intelligent and likes to view everything logically in order to ground herself. She's a bit of a control freak and likes to have everything in order to maintain a "workable" environment. When highly stressed, though, usually due to something falling out of her control, Vivian can lose her temper and be extremely hostile and vulgar.
VOICE
With Vivian being 49 years old, I imagine her having an older motherly sound. While I've always imagined her as having a light, high pitched voice, I think a medium range voice could also work just fine if it still sounds like an older feminine voice. She does get loud when angered, so being able to push this voice to a harsher yell will be needed for those lines.
A voice reference for Vivian would be Lisa from the Simpsons, voiced by Yeardley Smith. Her range is pretty much exactly what I imagine for Vivian, with how light it is!
Vivian is from Canada, so a Canadian accent would be big bonus points but is not required.

PERSONALITY
Mulilo is incredibly passionate, holding strict moral views that makes sure people will know. He's driven, taking things into his own hands no matter how big the task is. Mulilo can seem rather hostile, refusing to change position when he has his mind set on something and treating others below him when they don't agree. His intentions are at least intended to be pure, fighting for humanity, at whatever the scale that might be.
VOICE
Mulilo has a deep, monotone voice. He enunciates all his words to speak as clearly and sternly as possible. When angry, he doesn't really "yell", instead raising the intensity of his voice so it "booms". Occasionally, Mulilo will do little sound effects with his voice for his technology, so feel free to get creative with those.
A voice reference would be Fredrik Knudsen of Down The Rabbit Hole. The way he speaks so matter of fact with precise pronunciations is just like Mulilo, though I do imagine him sounding slightly deeper.

PERSONALITY
Sonechka is an untrusting, defensive, strange girl who treats everyone around her like an enemy. She's deeply paranoid, but rarely acts on these fears, preferring to sulk and complain to herself. She gets joy from the misfortune of others and is rarely sympathetic, often misusing her mysterious ability to predict the future to toy with or manipulate others.
VOICE
Sonechka's voice is nasally and congested. I've always imagined her voice being mid range, though I could see it going higher or lower as long as she has that nasally sound. She tends to speak intensely with a hint of resentment and anger at all times, only relaxing her voice if she wants to seem friendly but even then, I imagine those lines coming off as more sarcastic.
Sonechka also often quotes other people, usually using a mocking tone when doing so.
A voice reference would be Christine Cavanaugh's Dexter from Dexter's Laboratory. It has that intense tone at all times that I imagine for Sonechka, plus sounding nasally.

Daníel is a quiet, depressive guy. Due to being the oldest of the cast, he tends to feel responsible for things whether he actually is or not, and can really beat himself up over the smallest of failings. Daníel is really passionate about his hobbies and loves to see others interested in them, though he rarely lets himself get outwardly happy.
VOICE
Daníel's voice is deep, but soft and calming. He never lets his tone rise and speaks slowly, unconfident in his words every time he speaks. Daníel has a whole word stutter where, after a small pause, he start over from whatever point he thinks he should, usually 1 or 2 words. He also adds a lot of "uhh"s and "uhmm"s to his sentences, which would have a little bit of a pause as he fills in for the words that are blocked.
A voice reference would be Bob Ross, who's soft tone matches what I imagine for Daníel perfectly, though I do think Daníel would sound a bit more unconfident.
Daníel is from Iceland, so an Icelandic accent would be nice but is absolutely not required.

Francisca is loud and abrasive. She's entirely extraverted, talking to people she's just met like they've known each other years and joking around with people regardless of their receptiveness. Being able to rely on her sister for anything that takes smarts, Francicsa's never had to use her smarts so doesn't. Combined with speaking whatever comes to her mind, she can often have some pretty out there ideas.
VOICE
Francisca speaks loud and fast, with a high pitched voice that can be grating after long periods of time. She elongates the ends of her sentences and is really animated with her speech, adding emphasis to relevant words. This is open to creativity, so feel free to decide how you think she'd emphasize words, just imagine the typical valley girl way of speaking without the accent.
Francisca also likes to add acronyms to her sentences, which if it's unpronounceable, she'd say the letters for (Such as OMG or WTF) while she'd just say the acronyms that can be pronounced as words (Such as LOL)
A voice reference would be Trisha Paytas, who has such a fast, high pitched, animated way of speaking that I think matches Francisca exactly.

Adriana is the straight man to Francisca, balancing out her eccentricity with a more calm, grounded personality. Adriana is more introverted, getting easily embarrassed and often feeling the need to explain her or her sisters actions. She's resilient and has a tough no nonsense attitude most of the time, though she'll sometimes cave in and joke around with her sister.
In being attached to someone who has an Ultimate talent while Adriana does not, Adriana struggles with her confidence, something she refuses to show or admit.
VOICE
Adriana's voice is more monotone, though she can get more animated and loud when riled up. Her voice is likely mid to low range, though naturally higher. I don't think it'd sound super put on, it is the voice she uses comfortably from day to day, but if you have a naturally higher pitched voice, going deeper could still fit the role just as someone with a naturally deeper voice. Her voice is also probably a bit scratchy and fried from being a fitness trainer who has to motivate people, but not too much to where it seems put on and obnoxious.
A voice reference for Adriana would be Caitlyn Sponheimer as Taylor in the Dark Pictures: Little Hope. Her voice fits the deeper sound I imagine for Adriana, along with the natural vocal fry that isn't too overbearing.

Naoyuki likes to be seen as a man of many talents, even if he technically doesn't have an official one. Friendly and outgoing, Naoyuki treats everyone around him as if he's known them for years, which can sometimes come off as more overbearing than anything. Naoyuki seems to disregard danger and has a naive view of the world, getting him into trouble often.
VOICE
Naoyuki's voice is scratchy and high pitched. While he can certainly be a loud person, I don't think his voice is naturally loud and his resting voice should even sound a bit quiet and sincere. He wears his heart on his sleeve and is a pretty emotional character, so this role will likely involve a large range of emotions being represented.
Naoyuki is also a trans man, so if you're a trans man trying out for this role, feel free to say!
A voice reference for Naoyuki would be Charlie Kelly from Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia, played by Charlie Day. His voice has the same scratchiness I see Naoyuki having, and the lighter voice he does on It's Always Sunny very fitting for Naoyuki.
While everyone else having the accent of their home country would be a bonus, Naoyuki travels around so much and has learned multiple other languages, making a Japanese accent feel less accurate to how I imagine his voice.

PERSONALITY
Petra's a soft spoken, caring, relaxed girl who values her personal relationships over everything else. She likes to keep her head up and stay positive, sometimes to a point where it seems like she's in her own world away from everyone else. She can also get clingy to the people she cares about, attaching herself so tightly that it can push people away with the intensity.
VOICE
Petra's voice is very distinct. A super high pitch, breathy soft voice, with a slight lisp. Petra speaks in long, unbroken sentences that can be tough to understand due to her breathy, soft voice. Other than taking in breaths after speaking too long, Petra rarely pauses when speaking. She's, overall, meant to sound a bit awkward and nerdy cute, which is what the lisp and mouth breathing voice is meant to channel. Petra never raises her voice, instead elongating the ends of sentences that would otherwise be shouted.
A voice reference for Petra would be Lily Allen, though more specifically her singing voice. She has a very soft way of singing that I think Petra would have even in her normal speaking voice (Of course, Petra won't be singing her lines so don't take this entirely). Lily also has a British accent which is very Petra.

PERSONALITY
Yun is a rambunctious ball of energy who responds to everything with significantly more force than is necessary. He's extremely intelligent when it comes to technical subjects, but has an awful emotional intelligence and struggles with empathy, making him often dislikes by anyone who has to listen to his ranting and raving.
VOICE
Yun's voice is high pitched and nasally, usually speaking fast and loudly. While the loud speaking is definitely partially from his personality, Yun also has hearing damage which makes the yelling something he doesn't even always realize he's doing. When ranting or angry, his voice slowly rises and gets faster, while when suspicious of something, he'll speak slower and more quietly, sometimes going between the two in the same sentence. Yun's only 16 years old, so his voice should sound youthful.
You may notice that random words in Yun's sentences are capitalized, that's because he likes to say certain words more intensely, returning to his usual tone of voice immediately after.
A voice reference for Yun would be Ke Huy Quan, who played Waymond in Everything Everywhere All At Once. His voice is similarly high pitched and nasally to how I imagine Yun sounding, though Yun would speak more loud and intensely.
Yun is from South Korea, so a Korean accent would be nice but is absolutely not required.

Bonnie's your standard 70s American girl, trying to make her way through school and a crappy part time job, only that job's stuck with her for life. Bonnie's a pessimistic future, struggling to see hope in the future and coping with this existential dread through humor. She doesn't take things seriously and takes on being the butt of jokes with pride.
VOICE
Bonnie's voice is light to medium, average feminine voice to capture the small town girl vibe she's meant to go for. She shouldn't sound super confident or like a "popular girl" by any means, her words are always spoken with either kindness or self degradation. When mad or sad, she makes her voice a slightly deeper whimper.
A voice reference for Bonnie would be Mia Goth in Peal, who has that higher/mid range voice normally which gets deeper in moments of sadness.
Bonnie is from the American South (More specifically, Alabama), so a southern/Alabama accent would be huge bonus points but is not required.

Earnest is a deeply curious man, striving to expand is knowledge in every way he can. He likes to keep himself emotionally distant and professional, making his curious nature sometimes seem pushy and inconsiderate. While he likes to view everything logically, he has a faithful side that comes out whenever he feels conflicted on a subject or uncertain about the future.
VOICE
Earnest's voice is a medium pitch, "refined" masculine voice. He talks with certainty and calmness, speaking at a consistent pace without much emotional fluctuation. He does have a tendency to use sarcasm and act as if he's above others, so a good condescending voice is a must for Earnest.
Earnest voice reference isn't really a specific character or person, rather just the old 1940s-1960s generic male voice.

PERSONALITY
Tahirih is extremely intelligent, proficient in coding, robotics, and all sorts of mathematics that allow her to help give businesses huge amount of growth in short amounts of time. This intelligence is hindered by her severe laziness, which makes her take the easy way out at any chance possible and avoid putting in any more work than necessary at all costs.
VOICE
Tahirih has a deep, breathy, nerdy voice. I imagine she slurs her words as if shes half asleep, not putting much effort in her words so she sounds uninterested and bored. Occasionally, she'll get a bit overconfident in herself and put on what she thinks is a "cool" voice, which is just slightly less unenthusiastic with some added sighs as she speaks to make it sound like what she's talking about is effortless.
A voice reference for Tahirih would be Alyssa from Life Is Strange, played by Dayeanne Hutton. She has that lazy sound I imagine for Tahirih, plus Dayeanne puts on a pretty deep voice for Alyssa compared to the other characters she plays.

Oumar is a kind and caring man who can sometimes get a bit too invested in the lives of those around him. He values honesty most of all and tries to always be as honest as he can, especially when it comes to his feelings on things which he likes to display openly and dramatically. Due to his unlikely success in an up and coming industry, Oumar's developed a bit of an ego that can make him seem detached at times.
VOICE
Oumar speaks with flamboyance and emotion, like the most dramatic theater kid you could imagine. His sentences tend to be flowery and he jumps from emotion to emotion easily, adding dramatic pauses to spice up his words. His voice would be naturally fairly deep, thuogh he artificially makes it sound higher to appear more friendly.

Zhao is not only the Ultimate Singer, but a world famous actress and acclaimed dancer. She's friendly and easy going, not letting the success effect her compassion towards others. She can be compulsive, however, struggling to think about the future and making choices based on greed and in the moment happiness.
VOICE
Zhao's voice is medium to high pitched, speaking with a "refined", elegant, feminine voice. She'd sound naturally bubbly, though sounds more confused during awkward/uncomfortable situations where that bubbly sound clashes with whatever's happening.
Being the Ultimate Singer, she does have lines where she sings but I don't think I'll ask for any lines that require singing, that seems like a lot to ask for. If you are also a singer, though, be sure to say!

Janeesh's vocal range could go any way. They'd certainly strive for a "sexy", laid back sound in order to make their comments that much more agitating. Janeesh speaks fast yet clearly, occasionally elongating a word for emphasis but that's about all that'll slow them down.

Alto's voice is angelic, very high pitched and soft. He speaks with clearity, though gets stressed easily leading to stutters, vocal tics, and lots of awkward laughter. Alto in particular says "oops" a lot when uncomfortable, which he'd likely say in a higher pitch and quicker compared to the rest of his speech. I'll be putting lots of effects over Alto's lines to achieve an angelic sound, so the actual specifics of his voice aren't fully important to me so long as it's light and soft.
