There’s something electric about walking into your own party, isn’t there? The rush, the excitement, everyone’s eyes on you. Either fearing you or envying you, but best of all they worship you.
Stacy and Amber are my girls, my disciples. They’re the ones who’ll always hype me up, even when I don’t need it. Especially tonight.
I can still feel the spotlight from the pageant, the thrill of standing there as they handed me that cheap ass plastic crown. And yeah, I should’ve come in third, but when you’ve got money like mine, third place is for suckers.
Stacy is somewhat of a follower, often relying on her looks and social status to get by. She’s bubbly and a bit clueless at times, but her seemingly shallow exterior hides deeper insecurities. She’s caught up in the danger after Jason’s death and is pushed to her emotional limits when she’s interrogated and blamed. She’s not a fighter, but more of a survivor.

Girl, you look so stunn-ing
Well, I don’t know how to fight! What else am I supposed to do?!
He was just there… I didn’t
Amber: Outgoing and vivacious, Amber is the life of the party with a sharp wit and infectious energy. Though she seems carefree, she hides her insecurities beneath her bold personality, often using humor to deflect deeper emotions. She’s fiercely loyal to her friends but can be impulsive, often getting caught up in the moment without fully thinking things through.

Stacy, what the fuck happened?!
There’s no way she’s that much of a control freak
Well, I’m sorry about that. Anyways, if it makes you feel any better, we can drink it! Roxy, go get us some more booze!
Toby is awkward, but incredibly endearing love interest of Jake. He’s sweet and a bit socially anxious, but eager to connect with others. Toby’s excitement for things like comics contrasts with Jake’s darker edge, making him the perfect counterbalance. As the story progresses, Toby shows hidden bravery, willing to help Jake even when he’s scared.

TOBY (brightening up): Well, if you ever want to borrow it, let me know! I’ve got a copy at home. I’ve been hoping to find someone to talk comics with.
TOBY (nervous, rambles): Me? Oh, uh—no, I mean, I was just gonna say I like your shirt. The, uh, Spider-Man one. I love that issue.
Jason is the local bully and a classic antagonist. He’s cocky, manipulative, and uses people to get what he wants. He’s particularly rough on Jake, using him for his own purposes. Jason believes he’s untouchable, which makes him reckless, but this arrogance is his downfall. He also represents toxic masculinity, often asserting dominance in cruel ways.

“Never mind. I actually don’t give a shit. You get the stuff?”
“You think you can quit? You’re done when I tell you you’re done. If you bail, I’ll beat the living shit out of you.”
Then maybe I’ll pay your cousin a visit. How about that?
Ms. McBride (Claire’s Mother) is a woman in her mid-40s with an air of elegance and authority. She is fiercely protective of her daughter, Claire, but their relationship is strained due to Ms. McBride’s high expectations and controlling nature. A successful, career-driven woman, she maintains a meticulously organized life and household, often projecting an image of perfection to the outside world. She tends to be overbearing, sometimes dismissing Claire’s emotions or concerns, believing she knows what’s best for her daughter.

“I told you, it’s dangerous to be out with those degenerates so late at night!”
“No, she’s a liability. And so are those other girls. You’d do well to start acting like a McBride.”
MS. MCBRIDE (concerned, emotional): “Baby! I was worried sick!”
