Hey guys, the casting has now closed. I will take time to look and listen to all these great submissions, and see what I'll do about it.
Code-mon, otherwise known as Coded-Monsters is a future creature taming game that is to rival other creature catching or taming games, to be made on GoDot and released on Steam. It features a tech theme, and is distinct between 2 worlds. That being, Earth, and the Code Dimension. A nasty Code-mon creates certain viruses that infect other Code-mon, which leads the protagonist to cure those from them, and soon to overpower the virus.
This has been my biggest dream project yet to date, originally started as an upgrade to a scrapped monster catching game on roblox: Monsters of Chaos. It has been progressing 2 years of research and concepting, but this is also NOT unpaid. To keep good quality, it is sticking as a paid project for the majority of people working on the game. Auditioning for certain roles is also competitive, and not everyone will make it in.
NOTE: Yes, this is inspired by other Pokemon-like games and takes major inspo from the Digimon and Mario rpg games. In this case, it isn't an original idea alone, because the creature taming genre originated from Shin Megami Tensei. It may partially fit towards the creature catching game formula, but move more towards taming, based on certain features that are core to the gameplay.
Hey guys, the casting has now closed. I will take time to look and listen to all these great submissions, and see what I'll do about it.
Thank you everyone for the 100+ submissions so far on the project! I sadly don't have all time and energy to listen to all, but I will try before the deadline for wave 1.
The project is going to have some changes from the setting name, as it shouldn't specifically take place in the UK, but we can use things to make it fictional, rather than be authentic.
I just wanna say, thank you all for the 50+ submissions I've received so far! I wasn't expecting to get somewhat attention on this project... Because I am still trying to figure out things like my budget shared upon the people working on it. So far, I've found a select of members for the dev team, by my choice as of now:
Dana Brown - Intro vocals/singer
Eggmonk - Narrator VA
Redorb2003 - SFX Composer
Camiliero - Artist (for varities of roles)
Dothedew219 - (Possibly?) Opening/intro composer + soundtrack composer
Jerzu97art - Code-mon creature VA
(I may need some comments here to help me define more clearly about producer role here)
I'm looking for someone else to be able to have the skills and experience of managing the essentials and finances of the game. This is something worth forward to, as it may also help out with paying for the team's budget in order to create the game. I also want management between the main team working, reviewing things created for the assets, etc.
This is a target towards who will become my co-owner for Code-mon. However, only one person will be selected as the producer for this project. It may also seem competitive for that specific role. But if you land the role, you will be able to play in a large portion of the development. I WILL REVIEW EACH PERSON THAT APPLIES FOR THIS ROLE VIA DISCORD CALL, WHICH MEANS YOU MUST ALSO HAVE DISCORD IN ORDER TO APPLY. I ALSO WANT PEOPLE 18 OR OLDER TO APPLY FOR THIS, SO I AM ABLE TO GET MORE OF THE INTERACTION WITHIN THAT (Since I am turning 18 soon) (discord user: inkiesbackupaccount)
PERKS IF YOU ARE SELECTED:
*Say something you think would fit*
This role is looking to pay 20-30 USD for 5 unique lines in the song.
The planned intro song is called DISTRUST, but may need changing within discussion to avoid ripping off Danganronpa.
This role is EXCLUSIVELY targetted towards female individuals, as it is what I planned in the sequence vocals. It requires to match similar to the description of the vocals in the Danganronpa intro, and meant for those who have experience.
*Say something you think would fit*
I'm looking for someone experienced with making electronic sounding music to create an intro sequence theme for Code-mon, which will also serve as the main theme for the game.
PLEASE GIVE THESE REFS A LISTEN BEFORE STARTING:
*Say something you think would fit*
This is the main intro and opening to the game. In this case, there are 2 different ones depending on where you are in the game. I am looking for experienced animators, mostly 2-3+ years in experience. Please apply if you have done animation for strong and fleshed out animation, similar to things like persona 5 and danganronpa game openings.
Note: It features the 3 main gender characters, the starters, 5 different characters, and the masterminds (MUST BE IN THE SHADOWS TO AVOID SPOILING THEM FULLY AT THE START, WILL KEEP THE PLAYER CAPITATED TO MOVE ON)
*Say something you think would fit*
This is the voice role for the main narration in the game. But to add in some stuff to balance it out between the serious stuff, my idea was to have the narrator be some sort of comedy relief tool. He has no face, no name, and the only thing you can get from him is his voice. Often, breaking the 4th wall, and possibly getting affected from certain things that happen in the game, such as getting angry or sick. When serious moments happen, he will shut up and respect them even if he pops up for a moment.
REQUIREMENTS: Role is exclusive to adult male VA's, have experience in narration or voice acting, be able to crack humor, be able to perform a british accent, and lastly replicate a voice similar to John Sparkes (Peppa Pig narrator), or Stephen Fry (Pocoyo narrator).
Note: Paying 0.10-0.15 dollars per word via venmo.
(Neutral) "And so, our little hero has reached a new destination, a new world, perhaps. I wonder what kinds of new friends we will meet out here in the Code Dimension?"
(Unfortunate) "Oh dear, it seems like Sophia has just fainted. She must've not like the sight of seeing such horrible things like that!"
(Angry) "ARGH! WILL YOU JUST SHUT UP FOR TIME SAKE AND UNDERSTAND, YOU DECIDED TO TRUST THAT SUSPICIOUS GUY? I KNEW DAMN WELL HE WAS BEHIND SOME NASTY SHIT!"

Sophia Wattson is one of the main characters in the game, otherwise known for her anxious behavior at the start, but also one of the more traumatized characters in the game. She is actually pretty known in communities that she interacts with, giving herself some fame online in the Code Dimension. However, she has very bad traits, of not handling criticism when negative, or her refusal to get therapy for her mental disorders.
Voice requirements: THIS IS A FEMALE EXCLUSIVE VA ROLE, specifically for those who are maybe, low to medium tone. It depends on what I'm referencing as the voice. I'm looking for someone that can display big emotions and express it hard when Soph manages to, as she is hard to get along with at first. She may cry easily, or get upset at situations for personal reasons. I specifically need those of expert talent for years to do this if you can, and again, I don't want low quality or phone mics in this.
Voice ref: Mikan Tsumiki from Danganronpa 2 (Specifically her JP VA)
Paying 20-30 cents per word.
(Nervous) "Uhh, it's my first time here... People won't stare and judge me, right? I don't really understand how you are able to keep yourself upstanding on social interaction... People sort of scare me. *Nervously gulps*"
(Slightly happy) "Wait- you say that I'm... cute? Oh wow, I haven't gotten that compliment in a while. Regardless of how I look? I can't be dreaming about this, right?!"
(Upset) "It's like you don't understand... you don't know how much I've been through! You think I'm an innocent and shy girl, when it is more than that... I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT AT THIS MOMENT!"

In the game, this is like our main antagonist. Otherwise, Malvolio Giordano is nothing like other humans, but those will think he's a digital avatar. Whatever he plans to do, is kept secret of his manipulation. He is a virus species, later on corrupted in his nature and what he believes, later on to lash out in insanity.
VOICE REQUIREMENTS:
SIMILAR VOICES: Monokuma (Danganronpa), Junkrat (Overwatch 2)
PERKS IF YOU ARE SELECTED:
(Mad) "Oh come fucking on! My computer doesn't wanna load- ONE BLOODY BIT. Will you all just shut up for once and wait atleast a minute for me to pull up the analytics?!
(Absolutely euphoric) "Ah Golly Gee... I *chuckle* uhhh... I haven't thought about that... in a... ahh... ACHOO!! (He can change to his other personality upon sneezing) God what was that?! And no, don't ask me this again. I'M NOT SICK."
(Spiraled to be Maniac) "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! WHEN IT COMES TO PLAN, WE WILL USE THE POWER AGAINST THOSE WHO TRY TO DEMOLISH THE DARK WEB! GIVE IT UP, FOR THE MAGNIFICENT MALVIO GIORDANO!! *INSERT MORE MANIC LAUGHING HERE*
In the game, Code-mon can actually speak the human language, as they may be developed as those of AI's, being the equivalent of an average AI. They have the traits and abilities of those of animals, alongside things that they are capable of doing, whether it is animal behaviors. These behaviors are coded into them when created.
They have various voices that fits in their species, whether cute or tough. You can go with any voice.
Oh hi there! I wasn't expecting for you to come so quick... I may need some assistance at this moment, so when you're available, please notify me.
Ouch! That hurts! I think I have to be returned back before the pain gets worse...
Of course, I love you as always. Our bond has been pretty strong so far, as long as we keep ourselves from cleaning those who have been infected from that nasty virus...
Coding or Script writing is WHAT will make the game function, as I am not an expert on coding. (I can do like scratch coding but we're not using scratch, that's different) It is the main reason why we don't have progress photos of the game yet, but more of so like the concept.
WE NEED YOU on the team, with experienced coders to use GoDot's own coding language called GDScript. It is the language used for the engine we are using, as GoDot is able to support 2D by default, which is what we're going for. You can use other supported coding languages for the job, such as Python, C#, C++, etc.
DO NOT STEAL CODE FROM OTHER PEOPLE PLEASE, as this will result you being kicked off the team for sure. Also, make sure you're able to do bug fixing if any glitches and bugs are found in the game.
PERKS FOR THOSE WHO ARE CHOOSEN:
*Say something you think would fit*
I'm doing the majority of the code-mon concept art at this moment of time. But I am not trying to get cheap splash art/box art of the content. This role wants experienced artists to handle the job, and when I mean artists, I mean REAL HUMANS. If we catch you using AI to get away, you have no choice but to be discriminated from the project all together. Just because Code-mon has AI themes doesn't mean you get to use it for the job.
Note: We're trying to strive away from the pokemon art style, and doing a different one, not sure how to describe the splash art style yet.
*Say something you think would fit*
I can't create every single concept or think of all 400+ different code-mon designs all by myself. So, I have this out to any others who can do concept art and drafts for either code-mon characters, or the creatures themselves. This is especially for complex designs that can't come out to really be bland and generic when I actually draw them vs what I imagined in my head.
Again, DO NOT USE AI ART TO DO THE JOB. YOU WILL BE DISCRIMINATED FROM THE PRODUCTION IF WE CATCH YOU USING IT.

This is for different Code-mon entries, referring to mostly, dex entries. In that case, the equivalent is the Encyclo-scan. It is a device used to detect which species you have encountered and scanned, and the information if you manage to install them when you have enough data. I'm looking for some writers to help make some fun and interesting info entries for the Code-mon, including things like balancing heights and weights. I am normally a writer myself, but I can't come up with every single entry, also I suck with determining weight.
This role is depending however, whether you are fine with unpaid or want me to pay. Although I prefer having expert writers for these entries.
*Say something you think would fit*
I'm looking for original sound effects that can be used for the project, including dialogue, next, select, battle sound effects, etc. I MAY pay $3-5 for each sound effect created, tell me if I need to pay more depending on the budget used for this.
*Say something you think would fit*
Upon the release, it will be open in different countries to play, but will need translation as well. For example: Code-mon will be called Kodo-mon if released in Japan. It is preferred to have different languages to play the game in, but at this time, will have only english voice acting until we can get different non-english VA's for the characters.
This is a depending role, which is determined if you do unpaid or paid services for translating from english to a different language. This game is mainly english, as I am not fluent in other languages other than english.
Notes: Don't use google translate at all times. It doesn't correctly translate phrases and dialogue correctly if you play in your preferred language. If we catch using google translate and not actually know how to translate languages, we have no choice but to kick you out of the project. If you want to learn other languages, use Duolingo.
