Cecilia

Cecilia. She was a sweet girl, sadly nobody seemed to notice that. She really tried, everyday trying to win the approval of her peers, but it never came. Day after day she just wanted to feel accepted, never understanding why someone wouldn’t just let her be happy. Was it the way she looked? She tried to change, to be prettier. Nobody noticed. Was it the way she sounded? She changed her voice, not a soul stopped to hear the difference. Was it her personality? She changed everything, everything she liked, gone. Everyone she idolized, lost in the wind. Her name, yes she would change that as well, creating a new version of herself. Though it was not herself, nobody wanted that person, they wanted something new. Cecilia was gone, not a single bit could be left unchanged or they wouldn’t like her. They had to like her. They needed to like her. She needed it. She craved it, the feeling of acceptance, of love, of friendship, of everything she could possibly dream of. Cecilia couldn’t bring that, nobody liked Cecilia. Why would they? She was ugly, she could see that, she sounded like a horse, she could hear that, she acted like someone who nobody would ever want to love, she felt that. She did, didn't she? She knew every little part of her was wrong. It was, wasn’t it? People would like her now, now that everything changed right? Even then though, it seemed as though people avoided her even more, because she was no longer Cecilia, just a being that forced herself to lie.
