A tale as old as time: an unlikely combination of heroes join forces for a common goal. A feisty, rogue Bee with a passion for exploring and moving on from her relationships; a simple, but noble beetle eager to prove himself worthy of friendship again; and a mysterious, amnesiac moth that is more than they appear to be. Together, they seek to form a legally valid exploration team, but soon find themselves wrapped in a task far beyond any hobby… A legendary sapling that can grant eternal life is the top target of the ant queen Elizant, as well as the menacing, stone-cold Wasp King. Vi, Kabbu, and Leif must travel, fight, and grow together to find the sapling first, for the sake of all Bugaria.

I will ONLY accept submissions done through Casting Call Club. Any other “auditions” (such as those sent via DMs) will be SKIPPED.
If you record more than one take for the lines, unless I SPECIFICALLY ask for one (such as when I need to hear a filter), your audition will be SKIPPED.
If you do not put your discord in the description, your audition will be SKIPPED.
If you use a voice filter without me SPECIFICALLY asking for one, your audition will be SKIPPED.

There is no need to slate/introduce yourself at the start of your audition. I know who you are and it only spends more time. It won't disqualify you by doing so but know that I'd rather you don't.
This dub is performed in the English language. If an accent isn't specified, you are safe to assume that the character defaults to a general North American accent.
Please try and trim down any gaps of silence in your audition to save time.
For the record, I do not care what microphone, software, interface, or other technology you use. If it sounds good, clean, professional, and aids your talent (the foundation of my decisions), then it works for me.

I am looking for a medium-low to medium-pitched voice. This role is available for any gender, but it is responsible for catching the audience’s attention. The lines should be read like a fantastical storybook.

[Recounting the events of the story.] The adventurous duo, Vi and Kabbu, dove into Snakemouth Den for their team’s first exploration mission. A place known for having consumed any previous explorer that dared to enter.
[Echoing the words of the first queen.] Her decree was loud and clear: “Find me the Everlasting Sapling, and you shall know wealth like no other bug ever has!”
[Wistful, then joyful.] Although the Everlasting Sapling’s chapter has closed, a new one begins. …It’s time to celebrate!
A heroic, compassionate beetle with great physical prowess and always an inspiring word or two for his team- though maybe a bit of a dork, too. Always dressed in the cosplay of his favorite sentai show, the heroic Bug Rangers, Kabbu is the most experienced explorer of the three main heroes of Team Snakemouth, often tasked with guiding and encouraging his team onward with his inspiring passion and valiant example. It doesn’t take much for him to feel self-conscious when someone cuts him down for his enthusiasm or his chubby appearance, but he’ll bounce back for the mission and for his friends. Having come from north of Bugaria, Kabbu has taken care to temper his old recklessness for the sake of his new team, as it had led to the devastating loss of his old friends and teammates in the past, but in the times his true anger is stirred Kabbu is a sight to behold- almost nothing can stop him.
I am looking for a medium-low to medium, adult voice that is very boisterous and enthusiastic. The actor will need to convey the character’s heroism and honesty that reflects how he wears his heart on his sleeve.

[Mournful regret, then renewed purpose.] …Ngh…My-my friends… All because I---I wanted revenge! I haven’t honored my companions…I’ve tarnished their sacrifice! Vi, Leif… Because of you, I found friendship again! I will defeat this monster, not for revenge… But to PROTECT YOU!
[Cautioning VI on the dangers of Snakemouth Den.] According to rumors I have heard, it is the grave of a thousand explorers. Having ended countless journeys, many a song have been written about its dangers.
[Relieved, yet elated after defeating the SPIDER.] We… We did it! For real this time! Heheheh… Hahahaha! We really did it! What a scare…but working together, we were victorious! We did it…
A young, feisty, volatile bee with an attitude and overflowing with energy. She longs to be an explorer to prove all who have doubted her wrong. While she has issues with priorities and considering others, she is not inherently malicious, and is one of the three main heroes of the game. Her hasty, immature energy is often off-putting to others, having to be taught or restrained by Leif or Kabbu before making another one of her notoriously unfiltered and irreverent comments. She is the sister of Jaune the artist, who recently dismissed her for a mean comment Vi made regarding her art. Eventually, the two make up, but it is not an easy journey for Vi. Throughout the story, her questionable comments serve as comedy relief, and we get to watch her journey of learning to get along with others. Despite her unmistakable immaturity and socially oblivious chatter, Vi is one of the three heroes for a reason. Her priorities are somewhat misguided and shallow at times, but she is always well-meaning, fighting for the good of Bugaria and glory of being an explorer. Her real, full name is later revealed to be Violet, but her name is pronounced [vee].Vi is canonically around 16-17 years old.
I am looking for a medium to medium-high voice that is full of youth and sass. She is very snappy and loud with a more nasally tone. Think along the lines of the typical yippy, loud, aggressive short friend. A typical teenager, albeit with a more animated voice, her emotions manifest in expressing them very melodramatically; quick-tempered when upset with a drastic rise in volume, blatant sneering when unamused, jumpy when excited, etc. Despite the character’s tendency for loud, energetic moments, the actor must be able to deliver quiet and somber moments equally well without losing the unique qualities of the character. This contrast is vital to her character development and requires an actress with immense emotional range.

[Annoyed with having risked life and limb for a mushroom.] What!? We did all this for THAT!? Seriously? It wasn’t even a rare item. Heck, it wasn’t even a rare mushroom! Who designed this place!? I will sting them in the face! I’ll tear the place DOWN!
[Stunned and frightened to learn the sapling is in the foreboding Giant’s Lair.] You mean that giant wall we can see from the big tree? The haunted place?! THAT Giant’s Lair?!?!
[Apologizing, then opening up] I AM sorry I said you draw like a weevil. And all the other stuff. You weren’t believing me, so I had to go EVERYWHERE for the darn paint! B-But if I can say something, you were mean to me too! I had dreams and you stomped over them! I’m doing great! I’ve gone to many places and beat up huge monsters! If…if you had any faith in me I could’ve done it sooner! I don’t wanna be a jerk, but I didn’t miss the Hive at all. …I did miss you just a little bit.
A mysterious moth with ice powers. Leif is the result of scientific experiments done by the roaches of the long past, being the body of a moth forged with cordyceps. This results in Leif referring to himself in the first person plural (we, us, our, etc.), although other characters refer to him singularly as one entity as “he/him”. Much like the powers he wields, Leif is the cool, level-headed member of Team Snakemouth. He isn’t cold or apathetic, but he serves to ground Vi and Kabbu as needed (especially Vi). His past of being an experiment often comes out in painful episodes throughout the story where he stops in his tracks and begins speaking in the nonsensical language of Buggish. He is one of the three main heroes of Team Snakemouth, joining after being rescued from the Spider by Vi and Kabbu.
I am looking for a low to medium-low, somewhat raspy male voice with subtle emotional range. Leif is the most level-headed of the three protagonists, who often has a chill attitude. However, there will be notable angry and excited moments that must be reflected in your audition.

[Fed up with the Roaches’ stubbornness, honest and blunt.] What good has the Sapling done anybody all these moons? All it’s done is plunge explorers into danger. And now that mad King’s gone crazy for power… Even our late queen was tempted by the promise of eternal life. [Disoriented, speaking in an ancient tongue. This is technically a separate line but CCC will only let me do three lines so I combined here.] …Mjaj? Ajeukx, yrdiuf. …Ghsiaoenbx?
[Unrepentantly mocking a wasp general.] Your entrance was absolutely, what’s the word… Yeah, lame.
A noble, devoted defender of the Ant Kingdom and Her Majesty Queen Elizant II. His loyalty is unmatched, putting his consideration for Kingdom and family above all else. Throughout the story, he serves as an example of what a hero should be, as well as a powerful ally in certain sections.
I am looking for a low to medium-low adult male voice that radiates power and importance. As the queen's royal knight, he must sound steadfast and heroic, unwavering in his resolve.

[Proudly, almost triumphantly responding to VI asking "Who made you king of this joint?"] The Ant Queen herself, for she has knighted me as her Royal Blade!
[Attempting to frankly deter VI and KABBU.] No. You are both, most likely, mere novices, ruled by your strong emotions… I have no doubt that if you left today, you would return inside a bag.
[Relieved, but shocked and disappointed with KABBU’s rash behavior.] You actually did it…I was extremely worried. Kabbu, what is wrong with you!? You endangered your team! AND the mission!
A very talented explorer and sister to Maki. While she maintains a veneer of politeness, she has a frightening temper that can rear its head at the turn of a switch. She is obsessively concerned with her brother and very demanding of his attention, eager to monopolize his time.
I am looking for a medium to medium-high female voice that sounds sweet and fond. While her main tone is caring, she should have a pinch of snappiness as well.

[Outwardly polite, yet inwardly yearning.] Well, guess we’ll be going now… I wish Maki was here…
[Frustrated with Maki beyond belief.] Grrr! You always do this! You always run off without me!
[Bitterly, not eager to answer questions.] Sigh. Long story. Let’s do this mission first, okay?
The second queen of the Ant Kingdom. Her mother, Elizant I, came with Elizant II and her royal guard to Bulgaria in search of the Everlasting Sapling. Despite her noted efforts, Elizant II is not nearly as widely beloved as her mother was. The termites, as well as the main antagonist of the game, the Wasp King, hold a strong and open disdain for her. She is generally quite stoic, pursuing further information and exploration regarding the Everlasting Sapling from Team Snakemouth and other exploration groups. However, she begins to display more emotion and a sense of what it means to be worthy after the Wasp King’s first attack on the Ant Kingdom.
I am looking for a low to medium-low female voice that is regal and firm, no matter the circumstance. While the character will also act defensive or vulnerable, the prior qualities must always be present.

[Amused, then sternly warning.] Oh hohoho! A feisty one, aren’t you ? Few dare to speak to me with such insolence. Maki, you truly have a keen judge of character. Count your blessings, explorer. Few do I spare the rod in respect to their accomplishments.
[Firm in her decision, yet pained at her loss.] … Everything I said in the village was true. I…would not place that wish over my people’s needs. But no, I’m not satisfied. It was a sacrifice, after all. It was my duty.
[Pride and formality tossed aside, pleading.] You think I would travel the wasteland personally, and bear brunt to your crass tone… If all of Bugaria wasn’t facing great peril? You think of me so pathetically!? I accepted and respected our treaty, after our negotiations turned sour. I am not asking you to change your mind in that regard… But if you care for your people, you won’t turn a blind eye to the danger heading our way!?
An administrative worker in the Explorer’s Association. Eetl does most of the paperwork for the Association, and therefore doesn’t see much of the action himself. Punctual, knowledgeable, and a bit of a worrywart, sobbing tears of joy and relief to see Team Snakemouth return from the dreaded Snakemouth Den.
I am looking for a medium to medium-high male adult voice that is somewhat pathetic and nerdy. He is knowledgeable, but hapless, overall.

[Mulling things over, then with a bit of grandeur.] I suppose that… Alright. With my authority as the association’s caretaker, in honor of your feat… I grant you, Team Snakemouth, the perk of being able to have three members!
The identical twin explorers under Queen Elizant II. Though far from the strongest explorers and prone to panic, their courage and passion shine through when push comes to shove.
I am looking for a medium to medium-high younger female voice that is energetic and sweet, yet blissfully unaware. The same actress will most likely be cast as both twins, but there is a chance I may cast two separate actresses.

I am looking for a medium to medium-high female voice that is preppy but softspoken. While she has a lot of energy and motivation, she keeps it inside and is eager for an opportunity to put it to use.

I am looking for a medium-low to medium male voice that has a subtle sense of superiority, especially compared to Celia. The character can be portrayed with an Eastern European accent, but it is not necessary for the role.

A large, boisterous chef who resides in the Ant Kingdom. He is skilled enough to work in the palace, but he finds great joy in feeding the common bug and seeing their joyful faces.
I am looking for a low to medium-low male voice that is boisterous with a bit of grit. The voice should capture the energy of a loud, yet cozy chef of a small diner. You may use a Texan/American South accent if you wish, but it is not required.

A studious, frail archeologist who is responsible for learning about the Ancient Artifacts. While meek and reserved around others, his excitement shines through when he gets the chance to discuss history. He is also a good friend of Kabbu.
I am looking for a medium to medium-high male actor that is invested in his work but is unimpressive when it comes to all else. The character can be portrayed with a British accent, but it is not necessary for the role.

I am looking for low to medium voices that radiate menacing and threatening auras. These devoted, unyielding soldiers must portray utter mercilessness. Multiple actors will be cast in these roles.

A loyal acolyte of the Harvest Goddess, Venus. She is solemn and devout, deeply devoted in her faith. She is a surprisingly competent combatant, defending the Golden Hills from the Wasps. She also leads the opening and closing ceremonies of the Golden Festival.
I am looking for a medium-low to medium female voice that maintains a devout and trance-like tone. She maintains her religious image in everything she does. Although she speaks with dignity and reverence, her voice should have a normal speed to it, so don't let it grow sluggish.

[Announcing the festival’s start and leading a prayer.] The Golden Festival has begun! Oh Goddess Venus, who watches over us, and ensures a bountiful harvest without fault… We congregate to share our gratitude. May it reach your roots and bring you joy.
[In a matter-of-fact tone, regarding the Wasps’ attack.] They tried. They failed. I will not waver in my conviction.
Zasp is an explorer who is the second member of Team Mothiva. Despite being a wasp, his loyalties lie with Mothiva alone. He has a very curt style of speech, never saying more than what needs to be said. Initially, he holds an adversarial position to Team Snakemouth, due to their competition as explorers and in the Golden Festival’s eating contest. However, he gains a mutual respect for our heroes, occasionally lending assistance and apologizing for Mothiva’s crude behavior. The ultimate aloof anti-hero.
I am looking for a low to medium-low male adult that has a voice immediately giving off being condescendingly pragmatic. He has a disposition towards sly comments, but otherwise uninvolved and cynical. His emotional range should be more subtle, especially in contrast to Mothiva, as he isn't one to smile or excite much at all.
(This is the director's favorite character, no pressure.)

[Defending Mothiva's actions unapologetically.] I don’t operate on pride. I’m committed to Mothiva’s rise to the top. We saw an opportunity and took it. It didn’t work out, but it’s not the end of the world. As you can see, even without the artifact, she is still respected.
[Attempting to save LEIF’s life, commanding.] There’s no time! Do as I say, if you value your friend’s life!
[Begrudgingly accepting defeat.] I concede. Team Snakemouth. Today you’re better than us. [under his breath] …What a pathetic end…
The pop-star idol of the Termite Kingdom and leader of Team Mothiva. She is the dictionary definition of the archetypical vain, selfish, egotistical popular girl. Her sense of self is fueled by her consistent onslaught of raving fans wherever she goes, and is horribly offended when she isn’t treated like a queen by anyone. Zasp, who has a crush on her and is very protective of her, is the second half of Team Mothiva and her primary minion. She relies on Zasp to assist in doing her bidding, always trying to outdo Team Snakemouth.
I am looking for a medium-low to medium (with medium-high to high inflections) female adult that is an out-and-out diva. Full melodrama when she does not get her way. She has no reservations about anything she does and is unapologetic in everything she does. The character can best be described as a “mean girl”, and that cliche can be used to guide your audition.

[Desperately attempting to act proud, then vulnerable.] …! O-Ohohoho! It was nothing! ………… Thanks.
An uppity, pretentious bee that looks down on non-bee kingdoms.
I am looking for a medium-low to medium female voice that is very haughty.

A bee scientist who, while brilliant, comes off as very rude and forceful. She accuses Vi of stealing her biggest invention, the Automated Drone Boomerang Prototype (A.D.B.P.). In exchange for keeping her invention, she demands that the gang assist with getting research on the invention’s capabilities. She has a rivalry with the other scientist in the Hive, Doctor H.B.
While this is a female character, due to her age and lack of a particularly feminine tone, she may be played by any identity, so long as they fit.

The lively mayor of Defiant Root. He comes to the Golden Festival to host the ‘Whack-A-Worm’ competition and later assists Team Snakemouth in their search for ancient ruins in the Lost Sands. He gets along well with Kabbu, whom he assisted during his trip from the north to the Ant Kingdom.
I am looking for a medium male adult that has an unending small-town charm. He is a jolly fellow that is willing to be welcoming to all. It is not required, but you may do a rural American South accent if you see it fit.

A moth scientist who is an assistant to Professor Honeycomb. He is the level-headed foil that compliments Honeycomb’s mad genius. He holds interests in both science and history, pursuing both interests with unquenchable curiosity.
I am looking for a low to medium male adult with a level-headed and cool tone. He contrasts Honeycomb’s aggressive nature with his natural charisma and calm disposition.
