Project Overview

What is Brave New World? 

Three years in the making and near release, this 3-year project gathers the work of professional actors throughout the world to revoice Fallout: New Vegas.

Many of Fallout: New Vegas's characters were memorable and well-acted. Players such as Legate Lanius, Caesar, Raul Tejada, Boone, Cass, Mister Vegas, Dog and God, Chief Hanlon, Mister House,  Cristina Morales, The Narrator, Veronica and all characters voiced by Laura Bailey, etc.

However, due to time constraints, a large amount of characters in Fallout: New Vegas were voiced by the same person. 

As a point of reference, Yuri Lowenthal voiced Ringo, Oliver Swanick, Henry Jamison, Nolan Mcnamara, Lucius, Lars Taggart, Fitz, Keller, Scribe Ibsen, Knight Lorenzo, Ike, Antony, Otho, Alexus and Sergio.

Brave New World now features improved casting , improved variety (each character is now only voiced by one voice actor) and improved acting (each actor now shows the correct emotions for each situation) adding new life to Fallout: New Vegas.

Payment 

Immediately when your audition is cast and BEFORE the script is sent to you. Easy for you. Easy for me.  I don't think it's fair to just pay actors only in "exposure" and while I can't pay GVAA rates, I pay immediately and have paid fairly for all actors who have joined the project.

If you are more comfortable being paid after submitting the lines, we can do that as well.  It's just that I personally prefer to send the payment right away.

REQUIREMENTS:

An XLR microphone would be ideal. A CAD E100s (bonus points), AT2020 with XLR, Neumann TLM 103, Sennheiser MK416 etc. I will accept a Blue Yeti only if the acting is done in a closet or a treated area with acoustic panel. Any form of reverb and I will pass on the audition.

  • Mags and Private Stone cast

    Mags as abigailturner Private Stone as Stephen_Lester Overall, it was a really, really tough call between Ssalek and abigailturner. The team loved Ssalek's voice and acting but also was enthralled by abigailturner. After a vote by the entire Fallout: New Vegas community, we felt that both actresses demonstrated excellent acting. In the end, we decided to go with abigailturner but both actresses did an amazing job. For the role of Private Stone, the team felt that Stephen_Lester really captured the personality of Stone's predicament. But there were fantastic auditions from all actors throughout and everyone did fantastic!

Personality:

Young soldier. Talented and effective but she tends to blame others for her flaws. She always wanted to be a Ranger but has failed every time. She blames it on the rest of her squadmates. Arrogant. She knows she’s good but she tends to overestimate her abilities. Her flaw is that she's not a team player and she doesn't acknowledge when she's wrong. She's not a mean, ill-spirited person. A soldier in a group of lesser-ranked soldiers and she lets that get to her head.

Race: Caucasian.

Appearance:  
Beautiful. In her late 20s. Blonde hair. Blue eyes. Military gear.

    (Sorry for the long audition. Mags has a lot of different emotions, everything from anger, sarcasm, soldier, authoritative, sadness, happiness, war and battle, etc. The new actress has to beat April Stewart (the original actress) in EVERY single way.

     Easy - This is where they send all the fuck-ups and people they don't want. But hey, it's not like I'm bitter or anything.

     (Soldier tone) (during a firefight) (ready to kill) (shouting orders) (lower gain on this to prevent blowing out the mic when shouting..and then amplify it)

    (Think...Gordon Ramsay yelling at a cook)
     I've got the one at 11 o'clock!!!!!! Razz, O'Hanrahan, take the two on the right!!!!! Poindexter, the center!!!!!

    (Irritated) (Annoyed) (surprised)

     I guess I wanted to make something of myself, you know? Be the best of the best. I *wanted* to be a ranger, but... guess this is as close as I get.

Personality:

Private Stone is a soldier stationed at Camp Forlorn Hope. His friends and brothers were recently killed in war and everyday new soldiers are injured and sent to the infirmary. He's been depressed and to escape reality, he takes Hydra (a drug used to help injured soldiers) (something like morphine) as a drug to help relieve his own pain. He is now addicted and constantly steals medical supplies from the infirmary.

This particular role requires tremendous acting skill.

REQUIREMENTS

(1) Has to sound like a soldier

(2) Has to sound believably 25 to 35 years old

(3) Has to sound in pain, tormented, a man who has lost his friends and brothers

(4) Has to sound like a drug addict, not a stoner, but a meth addict

Reason for recast:

We had to recast this actor because of issues with the audio. About 3 years ago, the audio sounded fine to me. But today, there's a fair bit of sibilance and an unnatural quality to the lines, probably due to compression, the mic itself or the abuse of the Noise Reduction feature in Audacity. I tried contacting the original actor to no avail so I sadly need to recast.

If you are already among the actors I have in Brave New World, please note that while I am open to actors reprising more than one role, the voice has to sound very, very different from any other characters you have been cast for and the (distance) of Caleb from your other character must be a substantial distance away. I'm just trying to avoid the sins of Obsidian and Bethesda, where they had characters voiced by the same actor.

Age:  32++.     Keeping within the range of the original voice actors who were around the range of 35++ with a baritone voice.

Personality:  Soldier. Should be charismatic with a slight sense of humor but still maintain a soldierly tone.  A soldier who was chosen for increasing the morale of his squad mates. He serves as an example to his squad mates but he also likes to lighten the mood in dire times. Rugged soldier with a genuine smile.

Two-faced. 

She should sound like someone who's been a scavenger and a thief and a wanderer. Shouldn't sound prissy. Shouldn't sound like an anime teenager. Someone who has no trouble reloading a gun, firing a gun and killing a person with no thought.  But also can play the victim and can seem kind-hearted. (she's not)

Context:

At first, Jacklyn appears to be an innocuous person, a victim. She runs to the Courier (the Main Player) and mentions that he or she has saved her life. However, as time goes on, it's discovered that she actually intends to kill the Courier, to take his/her belongings.

In charge of protecting the farmers and crops from wastelanders, he makes sure the water stays pumping from Lake Mead and that the farmers are generally happy. He was contacted by Corporal White, but didn't believe him about the water shortage. He believes that White is a glory hound and is admittedly a soldier, not a thinker.
