Breath of the Wild: Complete Story Dub

Project Overview

Breath of the Wild: Complete Story Dub is an upcoming voice acted project produced by ZeldaUniverse.net. The project is currently seeking voice actors & singers (1 role [M] requires singing). This is a fandub project, therefore it is voluntary and unpaid. However, being a part of a project by Zelda Universe grants you staff perks within ZU's community. Details will be discussed upon being cast.

This project will contain all major story sequences & cutscenes with full voice acting. Our dub is scheduled for release in March 2021. Characters who were previously voiced in the official dub (Zelda, Revali, Urbosa, etc.) are also up for audition.

Short synopsis: The story of "Breath of the Wild" focuses on Hyrule's Champion, Link, who wakes up from a 100 year sleep in a place called the Shrine of Resurrection. He is called to defeat a great evil, Calamity Ganon, that is bent on destroying Hyrule. Link must overcome a number of trials and defeat Calamity Ganon once and for all.

Zelda Universe has produced Legend of Zelda dubs since 2015. Projects include English dub adaptations of games such as Hyrule Warriors, Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time & many more. You can find our latest project, Majora's Mask: 20th Anniversary Tribute, over on our YouTube channel.


~RULES AND GUIDELINES~

1. Don't be rude or offensive - Be nice to others who are auditioning. Any display of rude behavior will cause your auditions to not be considered.

2. Audition for as many roles as you like! - There is no limit to how many characters you can try out for! Just be sure to follow rule #3 below.

3. Audition once per character - If you want to resubmit your audition, delete the original and upload your latest audition. For each role, please submit only ONE audio file (.WAV or .MP3 format) containing all audition lines assigned to a given role. Do NOT upload multiple files of each line. You MUST record all lines provided for a character to be considered for the role.

4. Slating - Slating is stating your name & the character you are trying out for in your audition. We prefer NO slating, but your audition will still be considered.

5. Adding various takes to an audition [PLEASE FOLLOW] - We recommend up to 2-3 different takes per audition line. Use different voices when trying out, so we can get an idea of your range. Picture what you think the character would sound like.

6. Have a quality microphone - We need to be able to hear you loud and clear with little audio issues as possible. If your auditions are too quiet or too loud (audio peaking), then we may ask you to resubmit your audition before the deadline.

7. All levels of talent are welcome - You do NOT have to be a professional voice actor to participate. Whether you are an experienced voice actor, or just starting out, we want to hear you try out!

8. Have fun! - If you're having fun auditioning, then you're doing it right! Just don't be a jerk about it! (refer to rule #1) That said, break a leg!

You do NOT need to submit a demo reel for this project.
You need to record & submit the audition lines for a given character to be considered.

    At long last, we wrap up our full dub of Breath of the Wild. This project began well over 7 months ago, and we are thrilled to share the final part of this huge project. We also wanna thank you for contributing to this dub by trying out in the beginning, as we enjoyed hearing everyone's takes on these beloved characters.

Link is the main, silent protagonist as well as Princess Zelda's appointed knight. Link first awakes from a deep sleep in the Shrine of Resurrection. He is guided by a mysterious voice to take the Sheikah Slate and embark to the outside world, told that he must "shine upon Hyrule once again."

Link is afflicted by amnesia, as he is unable to remember anyone or anything from prior to his rest in the Shrine of Resurrection. The reason Link maintains silence is because, with so much at stake, he finds it necessary to be strong and silently bear his burdens, which caused him to stop showing outward emotions. He is something of a glutton, and greatly enjoys a good meal.

This role will consists of various grunting and sounds when fighting or reacting.

Princess Zelda, the titular princess, is one of the main protagonists. Burdened with the responsibility to serve her kingdom, Zelda is tasked with unlocking the power of her lineage in order to defeat Calamity Ganon. Due to this, she undergoes rigorous training in order to use her magical powers. However, Zelda lacks the ability to unlock the power she holds, thus becoming frustrated. Her anger is driven towards Link, noting how his strength is a reminder of her own failures.

Voice wise, think of a young adult princess in royalty, speaking with a clear and proper tone. Can be curious/excitable at times.

The King of Hyrule, also under the disguise as the "Old Man," guides Link on top of the Great Plateau. In later parts of the story, it is revealed that the King can also have a rough and stubborn side when conversing with his daughter, Zelda. He does this out of concern for her and the kingdom. Despite his actions, he cares deeply for his daughter & only wants her to reach her full potential.

Seeking a deep and resonating tone. While the king has a stubborn and authoritative tone, he can still be calm and collective being that caring father.

  • (declaring, formally) I was King Rhoam Bosphoramus Hyrule. [roam, boss-for-raw-miss, high-rule] I was... the last leader of Hyrule. A kingdom which no longer exists.

  • (scolding) No more excuses, Zelda! As the king, I forbid you to have anything to do with these machines from this moment on.

  • (storytelling, in a serious tone) With the princess as their commander, we dubbed these pilots Champions-- a name that would solidify their unique bond.

Revali is the Champion of the Rito, and is considered the most skilled archer among his tribe. He has a bit of an arrogant side, and is always wanting to prove himself in order to be the best. Revali tends to gloat and rivals against his fellow Champion, Link.

A cocky attitude, stubbornness and prideful antics is needed for this role. Think of Falco from Star Fox.

Daruk is the Champion of the Gorons. He's considered one of the strongest and mightiest warriors of the Gorons, and uses his strength to protect his friends and allies. He's got a bit of a jolly personality, but is ready to put on a serious face when it's time for business. He's consider a leader among the Champions when it's time for battle.

Must have a positive and joyful voice, but is able to shift to a commander type role in a moment's notice. He's comforting and supportive much like a role model.

  • (confident, encouraging) Mark my words, I'll protect this land of ours to the death! Right, little guy? (happily chuckles)

Despite coming off intimidating, Urbosa is very caring and dependable. She's very motherly, especially towards Zelda. Urbosa is a strong and might warrior, who protects her friends and allies.

A maternal, mature, calm and collective tone. Very kind and nurturing, but can also be a tease.

  • (satisfied) Finally... We can complete what we started years ago. We Gerudo have no tolerance for unfinished business.

  • (explanatory; serious) It was written that Calamity Ganon once adopted the form of a Gerudo. (pleased) And that... will make this victory all the more satisfying. I like that. Now I can take this personally.

Impa presides as the elder of Kakariko Village. When Link arrives at her House, Impa remarks on how long it has been and asks if he remembers her. She comes off as a sweet, caring and friendly elderly woman. Impa is a very wise and knowledgeable Sheikah and can be considered calm and collective.

A wise and mature voice. Not so much raspy. An elderly voice is required. Must be engaging with story telling.

  • (solemn) I see... So you have lost your memory. That may be a blessing in disguise for the time being.

Purah is the director of the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab, where she works with her assistant Symin. Her research and experimentation with an anti-aging Rune caused her to grow younger. Though she appears as a young girl, she is around 124 years old. She is the older sister of Impa.

Very energetic, cutesy and cheerful, a high pitched and perky "child" voice.

Muzu is one of the Zora elders on the Zora council and the former teacher of Princess Mipha.

Muzu cared greatly for Mipha. He harbors a strong disdain for Hylians, feeling that they were responsible for the events of the Great Calamity and Mipha's death. He can be very spiteful and rash; comes off as selfish and arrogant.

A strict and arrogant tone are ideal for this role.

NOTE: A British accent is preferred.

  • (mournful; spiteful) It is their fault that Lady Mipha was lost to us...
