Bills Life (second wave)
Project Overview
Bill's Life's main listing has expired and thus i seek to expand the project with a much larger set of characters.
If you wish to see the first Wave, which is still open, here's the link: https://www.castingcall.club/projects/bill-s-life
This project will include:
Listings for characters that have not received auditions in the previous project
An additional listing for Mikala acting as a filter for new and existing auditioners, containing many of her tougher lines.
The many, MANY secondary characters included
A very big prototypical locomotive. Young, arrogant, cocky, fast talking, and deep down very insecure and desperate to prove himself to the big leagues.
If you gonna audition for anyone, audition for this guy, he is one of the most needed roles in the series thus far!
VOICE CLAIM: This character has two voice claims, that being of Sokka from Avatar: The Last Airbender and Lightning Mcqueen from Cars. I don't want exact clones of these voices, but the general vibe of both embodies this guy pretty well.

Hey… I’m Danton. I was told to come all the way over here for the demonstration… So if you're the one switching my train, make it snappy (bored, impatient, contemptuous)
Is that supposed to scare me? Look at me, a massive modern diesel. 5000 horsepower in *one unit*, prototype for the latest and greatest GE locomotive. What can you possibly do to me? (trying and failing to hide fear)
UUUGH, at this rate I'll only have pulled *one train* for the *entire* test run. The UP doesn't have time for that, they need good results and fast. (Complaining and Impatient)
Probably the most versatile role, you'll be voicing a lot of different people. you do not have to audition for all of these lines, just the jobs you'd like to voice, detailed at the end.

That's an issue on your end. You’re older and smaller than the main liners, that's why you’re here and not flying down the main line with a commuter. (This role is a member of track crew)
Are you CRAZY!? If we keep speeding up like this we’ll jump the tracks by the time we’re there! (This is one of the conductors currently in a perilous situation thanks to an incompetent dispatcher. Bonus points if you can put a high and low pass filter on this line)
You insubordinate piece of… *cuts himself off* You'd do well to learn your place, little miss. (this is Sean, one of the ruder, older, and more pathetic engineers among many in this series)
The Railroad Manager, an eccentric and authoritative figure known for making questionable but ultimately profitable business decisions. The entire railroad roster was because he loved buying scrap value locomotives. I'll mark the years of these speeches, bonus points if you can sound audibly older between these

(1963) Well, Today’s been a very eventful day… Just got back the reports for the season and last year was one of our most productive yet! The heritage program has been working wonders for our company! This morning could have ruined all of that if it weren't for your quick thinking, Bill!
(1966) Century, the Monon has agreed to your purchase and gave us quite the discount thanks to the broken engine. Your engine might take a few months to arrive considering the logistics of getting one here from Schenectady. The reason we're keeping you on is simple: it's a lot easier to fix mechanical issues than demeanor. You have been nothing but a kind and sensible locomotive, which says a lot considering you're barely a year old… And Mitch, I would have sent you away sooner if it weren't for the fact you were on loan. The derailments and friction with the unions is bad enough, but blocking a UNION PACIFIC MAIN LINE!? What were you thinking!? I barely avoided a lawsuit against the UP thanks to you, you could have driven us to bankruptcy! Why would i EVER let such a reckless and idiotic Locomotive on my railroad?! (a pause, then he mutters) Worst part is the UP would probably still love you based on performance statistics alone...
(1969) What i'm announcing this year, is my retirement. I have already arranged for Willis, my son, to take over my duties. As you can expect from a former sailor, Willis should run a tight ship, expect him to show up within the week.
Insecure, Cynical, Arrogant asshole of a locomotive. Tends to be an antagonist out of pure envy and spite, and starts out in the series with a massive head due to his job, which he quickly loses to Blake after a serious accident. From then on he has a prejudice against diesel locomotives that he doesn't ever amend.
VOICE CLAIM: this character has a voice claim, that being of Foghorn Leghorn from Looney Toons, you may improvise mannerisms to him as you see fit

Hey, little brother. I’m sure you saw me on the news yesterday. I know, I'm the best, the one who will be pulling the mountaineer all the way to Utah! You’d do well to clean up your image, then maybe someday you'll get to ride your old rails! (dismissive, mocking)
I’m not talking with a *diesel*, you do it… (contemptuous, muttering)
Now hold on there a second, BLAKE!? They let a Diesel take my job? I thought this was a heritage railroad! (Envious, flabbergasted)
SP gal whos restless, witty, and tends to have a lot to prove.
CASTED OFFSITE. If you wish to audition for fun, i'd be happy to hear your interpretations of this character.
VOICE CLAIM: this character has a voice claim, that being of Kelly from Class of 09.

Heard it through the grapevine… in fact, I might just push it *further* through the grapevine! I'm sure your wife is *eager* to hear about your infidelity… (teasing, clever, turning the tables)
Well you *certainly* have a way of greeting newcomers… (dismissive, sarcastic)
Yeah, no, I don't want to do anything like that… I just wish I could… I dunno… pull local trains, some lighter freight. We just sit around in the sheds all day waiting for one of us to be picked to pull, like, 3 trains for the day. (bored out of her mind)
Ghost train, main villain of the series. She's a sadistic psychopath who proves to be pretty capricious and manipulative. She weaponizes a facade of southern hospitality and innocence to make her seem like she can be reasoned with, as well as the mystery surrounding her and skepticism of many as to the existence of ghosts.
Though her capriciousness proves to make her voice far more airy, high pitched, and cooky. She doesn't so subtly hide her joy at her power in the afterlife and how she uses it to murder. This is one of the most demanding roles in the series, and may be casted offsite depending on how auditions go.
THIS IS A FILTER AUDITION. Any and all auditioners will have much tougher lines in this audition, due to the high demand of the role.

Oh bless your heart... (try to do your best and longest evil laugh, expressing sadistic enjoyment for her actions. Then a pause) Wait, you're not dead... Good, now i can have more fun!
Oh no, I’m *sooo* scared! I can't do *anything* to this Massive Pug-Ugly Diesel Locomotive (sarcasm, then a chuckle) “You're just *asking* for me to do something to you, and i will. I think a slow execution is in order, pride is a grave sin after all…”
AAAAGH, YOU BASTARD!!! HOW THE HELL DID YOU LEARN THAT!? (In immense pain)
Any diesel lacking a name goes here, theres a lot throughout the series and most are just listed by their numbers in the script. Like the railroad workers, while it's much more likely for them to be men, it's not impossible for them to be women, and thus this role is open to both.

Was that before or after the dinosaurs died? (Dry, ribbing)
Damn... I knew ALCO locomotives were built poorly, but this takes the cake! *Wheezing laugh* What is he, built for export? Got lost on the way to India? (Mocking, in between laughs)
I was trying to tell you, I had a hotbox on my front axle! And what did you say, ‘tough it out and stop being so inefficient!’ and you had us continue through the town, which we could have EASILY STOPPED AT! (Pissed, injured)
An arrogant secondary diesel character, a massive EMD elitist who gets into conflict with a few GE locomotives and ends up getting demoted after a nasty accident due to these conflicts.

You didn't defend me back there, at all… I broke down and all you did was pick on me. I'm sorry but we’re done. I'll never see you again after this, and knowing you, i welcome that. (a rare moment where he stands up for himself)
Wait, you're not Brooklyn… Please don't be- A-are you… M-Mikala? (confusion, growing fear)
I-i'm not exactly... built to pull passenger trains. I don't know how! (anxious, hesitant)
One of the rudest diesel locomotives in the series, swears more than usual, hates steam engines vehemently. He initially uses Century as a cronie before Century stands up for himself. Made in La Grange, Illinois, so likely has Chicago accent.

Ok… This roster looks like shit… Only two functional engines and a bunch of goddamn relics. Why doesn't this railroad just scrap all these useless steamers and buy both of us. The scrap money wouldn't be much but might just be enough pay for you, Century (contemptuous, mocking)
I know, Century was bound to explode one day, he’s a complete joke! *laughs*
